Thanks for explaining not only when you should or should not change size, but why. Very helpful 😊

You are a great teacher, please don''t stop! If you don't have a tutorial on how to square up a quilt before binding, I'd love to see that! Thank you for all you share with us!

I would also love to see that. I'm working on my first ever quilt and I anticipate being at the binding stage in about two months. I've read some quilting tutorials, but more wouldn't hurt.

I have a quilt with scalloped edge that needs to be bound. Would love help on how to measure for this type of edge, compared to a straight edge quilt. Thanks!

Thanks for giving us things to consider when resizing blocks… sometimes it might be better not to resize but to just make more blocks!

Always learn something from your videos. Keep them coming. I would like a video on squaring blocks although you may already have one out.

Can I help? Look at the pattern and see what the block size is. Plain block, cut according to size. Half Square triangle? Cut blocks according to how the designer wanted you to cut and snip off the dog ears, and it should be the right size. There are different ways to make HST. Rob has shown us that. Some designers oversize their initial blocks, so you do have to trim. I sewed a log cabin kit, and all the blocks were spot on when i completed them. No trimming. Good luck.

Great video Rob! My mother and I recently made a disappearing Nine patch quilt and started with 8 1/2" squares because we were using yardage and wanted to get the most from each strip. It turned out great , with good sized focus fabric. I want to resize units on another pattern for a baby quilt and this tutorial will help a lot because it's not as simple as the Disappearing 9 Patch . I've been watching you for years and always enjoy your videos ❤

I love this one. I always find a pattern I love but it may be queen size and I really want twin or king size. This was very helpful. By the way, I’ve been watching you since you were on Missouri Star. You always have such fun and interesting projects. I want to make the one behind you also. I added it to my bucket list. 😊

You have done so much for us quiltmakers with your tutorials! Learn something new every time! Love the how to quilt style videos! What about revisiting the tutorial tips on making a quilt sandwich? This is a real hurdle. I have seen the pool noodle method and the rolling layers on boards method. Seems to need to be more taut. Thought about pin basting by loading the 3 layers on an old hand quilting frame. Even thought of using my boxsprings as a table.

I have a hand quilting frame I have never used. I, too, was thinking of how to employ it in making a quilt sandwich. Looking for tips and ideas.

Yes, I enjoy your How-to videos. I have been quilting for a few years. but I always seem to pick up tidbits of information, or it reminds me about something I had forgotten. I wish you added to link to the "disappearing" video you referenced. And I see the foundation piecing one for the other block out there too. Sorry if you already have these (you have created LOTS lately) Applique techniques? Different QAYG techniques? How to judge good patterns for "scrappy" option? Some FMQ? (I first tried feathers because of a man-sewing video). And will they let you talk about your fabric line, although that may wait for official launch so people can buy? Hunter Star and various ways to do it? (custom shapes VS common shapes with more seams). Hope that helps!

I was hoping he was actually going to tell me how to resize a block. Like take an 8 inch block and make it a 22 inch block in order to resize a pattern. Not tell me to add blocks to make a quilt bigger. I guess the title means different things to different individuals.
