STREAM STARTS AT 1:26: Ellen, Luke, Andy & Orca are back in the Faelands for a mega-Kingdoms of Amalur livestream, in celebration of Outside Xtra reaching 500,000 subscribers. Enjoy! And thanks again everyone for making this the best community on UA-cam
Outside Xtra. Had a blast today watching ! Love this game. Thank you! Here’s the latest petition for a KoA2: www.change.org/p/ea-games-kingdoms-of-amalur-2
*throws glass on ground* ANOTHER I really like the RPG-gameplays you guys do. Both Skyrim with Kippers and KoA with Orca. Then again, I might like KoA more than Skyrim, but you do you :3
I can see Ellen mentioning every tiny “milestone” they achieve just to play more Kingdoms of Amalur. “Luke, we just reached 500,001 subs, time for more Kingdoms of Amalur!”
It's a great game and they're nowhere near the halfway point of the game so it's not surprising she'd want more. There's plenty of side quests, plus the Faction quest lines and the dlc expansions all before you head towards the end game and the other continent. 1 continent of adventure just isn't enough for some.
I bought Kingdoms of Amalur a few months ago because of what Ellen said about the game. On one hand, I think I should be less easily influenced by what I watch on the internet, but on the other hand... its worked well so far :P Thank you for the recommendation :)
When Ellen first mentioned Kingdoms of Amalur reckoning, I told myself 'that sounds interesting I have to look into that' now it's years later, I'd been gifted the game (as I couldn't stop talking about how I need to find a copy and get the console to play it) and now I'm about to hook up my very first playstation console and delve into this magical world. Be proud of yourself Ellen, truly. :)
Haha it's kind of funny they had the tea joke, and here in Santa Barbara California tea isnt a thing, while chilaquiles they had to google is at most restaurants haha It's also a lot simpler than he made it seem, it's just basically more breakfasty nachos, made with chips (US chips not UK french fry chips)
EA and 38 studios should pay Ellen some royalties or something. I can't speak for everyone else, but if they are like me, her enthusiasm and excitement about Kingdoms of Amalur is contagious and made me want to try it out. A few missions later and bought it permanently on Steam.
Not going to lie here. After Ellen beating into us how good this game is every possible chance she gets and the few live streams you guys have done, I'm sold. Downloading the game from steam today.
Just the enjoyment on Ellen's face when she got to play KoA again was priceless. Congrats on 500k. I've been along for the Outside Xtra ride almost from the beginning, came a little bit late to the party, but it has been amazing from the get go. Luke and Ellen has such a natural chemistry and contagious smiles and laughs. Keep on being the best along with Outside Xbox
How is it possible that Ellen has been ranting and raving about this game since it came out 6 and a half years ago and still hasn't "finished the main game?"
I put my hair into dozens of tiny rope braids while watching this. Now my fingers hurt and I look like a walking Twizzler ad, but watching the stream replay was time well spent. Thank you for entertaining me during my experiment!
I like this game, love you guys, all 5 of you, can't wait to see part 4 of the Kingdoms Of Amalur live stream. Here's to waiting until you had 2 million subscribers.
This just gave me life, one of my favorite games of the 7th generation. Didn't even know about it till about 2015, but since then I always go back to it and put a couple hundred hours in every now and then.
Wait is this actually were “its time for work boys” came from ??? I was always just confused by the phrase but eventually warmed up to it due to so many people saying it but like is this actually where this came from???
Hey Ellen! As someone who actually owned and played KoA before watching your channel, I'll point out that the fire execution isn't working because it's 10 mana to cast the "Marking" (You would tap "A") and executing it costs 30 mana (Hold "A"). Each time you tried to execute, you didn't have enough mana. Sad llama! Hope this helps for next time you guys play! It's totally an overpowered skill!!!
Played this game almost 2 years back, when I was 13-14. I restarted and restarted the game trying to find the best class/skill combination (with the exception of pure mage, since that's just too OP) even though I still hadn't gotten to the ending yet. Just shows how good the combat design was. It feels like an eternity's passed since then...
There kinda is in: The Hero and the Maid quest. If you decide to spare the Maid of Windemere, you share the throne with her and she refers to you as My Love. It's not much, but it's something.
Apparently Ellen finally got incriminating pics of everyone in the OXBOX team so that she could "convince" them to let her do this. Well played Ellen, well played XD
I remember deciding to pick up this game to kill time while waiting for ME3 to come out. Loved the gameplay and ended up completing it and both dlcs after.
Andy, I totally understand the worries about the modern influences/equipment in Westworld season 2 (I had them too) but it is rooted in the western setting. I preferred S1 but I thought 2 was great...if a little needlessly complicated.
You guys are so great. I'm still sad that I had to miss this stream because of work. :/ On the flip side though, I am still very happy to not be the only one who knew about this amazing game! :D
So, Ellen...is now a good time to tell you my uncle was one of the founding members of Big Huge Games? You know...the people who made this game you really, really love?
Surprised people still know/remember this game lol, its highly underrated and so easily overlooked. I think partly cause it came out around the same time as Skyrim so that took the spotlight.
I really wish I could catch these livestreams, but being on the other side of the world and having that work thing going on, makes it almost impossible. Grats on 500k, I've been here since day 1 and both channels always brighten my day. Keep it up, you do good!
I missed the livestream originally, as I was stuck behind a herd of cows in traffic... They just wouldn't moo-ve. :P Glad I get to catch it now though, I've been hoping for a KoA livestream for ages! Congrats on the 500K!
Ellen's beautiful laugh convinced me to re-download the demo. Played a mage build, but didn't find chakrams in time. Had a ton of fun with the staffs and scepters. In honor of Ellen my first playthrough will be heavily mage. I don't understand playing with a bow when you have so many better options. Already looking forward to my second playthrough as a tank/ninja.
Welcome back Ellen hope you are feeling better, We all missed you. Wishing you love light and happiness (even if the idea of love and light feels awful to a dark and twisty monster like me...ps jane if you need loyal minions....) you are totally worth it.
Finished this for the first time just today and really enjoyed it. The combat can be really fun, especially with the super OP chakrams, and it's nice to just run around fighting things at times, the story is very wordy though and I didn't really have the patience to go through every dialogue option so there were a few times when I was on my way to complete an objective and didn't really know why lol. The story was surprisingly short though I found, if I were to play it straight through ignoring side missions et al (and if you didn't have to run from a-b grind levels) it'd probably a 5-6 hour campaign max
You should've taken a quick 10 minute detour to the town of Didenhill. It's amazing how a town that is so close to Gorhart in the beginning of the game allows blacksmithing a complete set of "basic damage" equipment. Your weapons and every piece of armor crafted with the basic damage components from the Blacksmith in Didenhill. A damage boost of 110% is nothing to sneeze at, and you'd be blowing through the early parts of the game, easily making up the 10 minutes you spent diverting to Didenhill.
I loved this game for the xbox360 ! I was lucky enough to purchase a copy as a friend recommended it to me. This game had tons of replay value for me. I loved the open world, magic and fighting. I heard this game flopped in sales and the company that made this game went bankrupt. I heard Todd McFarland designed some characters in this video game.
I took too long to watch this one. One question I'd have of the oxventure crew is, when reading the spell descriptions, do you figure out the difference between a radius and diameter when casting your spells?
Luke: "Apparently we were supposed to level up when we did the last good thing we did...whatever that was." Dob to Johnny: 🎶 "For here you are, sitting there, leveling me up Whether or not you should So somewhere in our past DnD session I must have done something good" 🎶
Well Luke i have to disagree with your thoughts of Sylvanas burning down the world tree. She attacked the tree because there was a large deposit of Azerite stored beneath it and if the Alliance used it against the horde then the horde would be obliterated. Sylvanas isn't evil she's just trying to keep the horde alive. No hate on Saurfang but if he was warchief he would lead them well for a little while but his ideals of dying with honor and glory will ultimately destroy the horde because there won't be a horde if everyone is dead. Sylvanas on the other hand attacked the world tree which so far has resulted in many battles that wouldn't be as costly as the one where they would have had if they hadn't attacked the tree. If anything Sylvanas is a tactical genius.
I remember playing this game when it came out as a kid. It was a really good game, yet everyone around me was playing Skyrim. What a travesty. I hope the re-mastered version gets some of the much-deserved love and they fix up some of the failures with the endlessly repetitive story/locations (for some reason they chose an RA Salvatore story, it's going to be garbage) and add in a mount system or something because always running everywhere got really tiring. Revamp the quests so it wasn't a 1001 of the same thing throughout the entire game. If they can fix those issues, this will be an absolutely fantastic game that I will definitely purchase again.
I know I'm way too late to the party here, and this probably won't get seen (and that's ok), but in reply to what videos the viewers like the most, I have to say obviously the lists are the backbone to the channel, but for me personally the D&D has been good and the Xmas charades are the videos that have made me laugh the most.
1:42:15 don't worry Andy, those editing skills aren't under-appreciated. I know I love them personally and I've seen plenty of comments commending the just the editing alone. It's particularly great when one player is speculating about what another is doing and you cut to see them doing exactly that. I'm sure the majority of your audience knows how much work goes into the editing and we very much appreciate it!
So sorry I missed this earlier, but I had stupid work, and they have all these rules about not having my phone out while I'm on the floor and working. Still, glad I can see it now and congrats on the 500K and KEEP PLAYING THIS TIME!!!! (at least until the 'main' quest storyline is done)

the oxboxtra fanbase is the chillest i've seen, especially considering youtube comment sections in general
Yes
@@LoesungFeuer5 it's why i love it here
@@ethanlappin It has a lot to do with the hosts, I think. They're just such nice people, it sets a tone for everyone else to follow.
1. That fanart is amazing
2. We've been waiting for this
3. Anything Xtra does is gold
Couldn't have said it better my friend
Vader Minion sums up everything nicely
When Ellen first mentioned Kingdoms of Amalur reckoning, I told myself 'that sounds interesting I have to look into that' now it's years later, I'd been gifted the game (as I couldn't stop talking about how I need to find a copy and get the console to play it) and now I'm about to hook up my very first playstation console and delve into this magical world. Viewer: "What food must you have every day?"
Luke: "Is tea a food?"
So British... XD
Be fair. He asked if *coke* was a food
Haha it's kind of funny they had the tea joke, and here in Santa Barbara California tea isnt a thing, while chilaquiles they had to google is at most restaurants haha
It's also a lot simpler than he made it seem, it's just basically more breakfasty nachos, made with chips (US chips not UK french fry chips)
EA and 38 studios should pay Ellen some royalties or something. I can't speak for everyone else, but if they are like me, her enthusiasm and excitement about Kingdoms of Amalur is contagious and made me want to try it out. A few missions later and bought it permanently on Steam.
João Caré aw man, everyone always forgets about Big Huge...
Seeing Ellens sheer Joy about this livestream should warm any soul, am I right fellow Oxsiders
Not going to lie here. After Ellen beating into us how good this game is every possible chance she gets and the few live streams you guys have done, I'm sold. Downloading the game from steam today.
11:57 It's time for work boys
lol Who is saying that? I've played plenty of times and I've never heard anyone say that in this area.
I really need this game to be backwards compatible.
I want it remastered for ps4
Kyle Smith this was one of my favorite games but then my 360 got the red ring of death
It is on Steam if you're interested. The only issue I've found is the camera. I will check later today to see if I can change the camera settings.
Kyle Smith for what system
It is for xbox
“There is no justice... Just us.”
Love Mort; easily my favourite book, though most of the Sam Vimes books are excellent
CEC416 "Thud' was my first Discworld novel, and it's still my favourite today.
How about "Oxtraneers" or "Oxtranauts" as a name for the OXtra fanbase?
The oxventurers?
*Ancient eldritch eye-demon rises out of the depths*
"Time for work, boys."
Just the enjoyment on Ellen's face when she got to play KoA again was priceless.

When Andy and Luke are reading out "It's time for work boys" over and over....
It's time for work boys. Stream on.
considering the age of this game, it looks like it holds up pretty well
It held up so well the remaster released this week can literally make no noticeable improvements
I, too, love this game. Thanks for bringing attention to it and giving it new life..
Maskerade is the Discworld book they mentioned. Greebo basically turns into a pirate. Big surprise Andy likes it. Also done in Witches Abroad.
Answering your question: I'd really like to see more long-plays of games from both channels like you did with red dead, it works well on Eurogamer
If Kingdoms of Amalur became backwards comparable or was remastered for Xbox One I would buy it instantly. It looks really fun!
Well, good news for you then! Just watch the Show of the Weekend dated December 8, 2018 for more info. Sort of.
Finally the day has come where kingdoms of Amalur shall reign supreme!!
How is it possible that Ellen has been ranting and raving about this game since it came out 6 and a half years ago and still hasn't "finished the main game?"
Its a really really really long game, especially if you don't wanna get your ass kicked
ELLEN!!!!
THQ Nordic acquired the rights for KoA!!!
maybe we'll really see a sequel ^_^
_now I should really decide to start my playthrough.. >_>_
I'm super happy someone finally bought the rights to this game.
What if we get DMC 3 style (KOA 1 is DMC 1 combos) combos in KOA 2? How much hype if that happens?
“...DISAPPOINTED!”
I put my hair into dozens of tiny rope braids while watching this. Now my fingers hurt and I look like a walking Twizzler ad, but watching the stream replay was time well spent. Thank you for entertaining me during my experiment!
Highly underrated Single-Player MMORPG game that I hope most of you at least try; just a shame that we'll probably never get a sequel.
Bob Stickman it's not an mmorpg at all. That would mean that it was multiplayer, which it isn't.
It was a great game but crashed on me 3 times through a 60 hour campaign 3 times!
not an MMO but certainly is an underrated RPG
Bob Stickman single player and MMO together is an oxymoron pal... It has to be one or the other it is quite literally impossible to be both..
I think I see that: the levels did sometimes feel like they were constructed for an MMO format of gameplay (especially the buildings).
I like this game, love you guys, all 5 of you, can't wait to see part 4 of the Kingdoms Of Amalur live stream. Here's to waiting until you had 2 million subscribers.
....*immediately starts that KoA letsplay i want to do*
Caitlin RC if it were ever possible for you and Ellen to livestream together...?
Fans of both channels could be called Oxen
I cannot be the only one who gets the breath knocked out of me every time this Alyn Shir character shows up.
I’m surprised no one made the ‘joke’ “It’s time for venga boys”
This just gave me life, one of my favorite games of the 7th generation. Didn't even know about it till about 2015, but since then I always go back to it and put a couple hundred hours in every now and then.

I bought this game MONTHS ago because of you all. I still haven’t played it but am excited to start once I have the time to get absorbed in a new game
Ellen has so much patience here. I'm massively impressed.
The quiz where Ellen turned out to be a penguin is one of my favorites. :P
Played this game almost 2 years back, when I was 13-14. I'm playing the game right now. It's awesome Ellen, can't believe that the game isn't very popular even now
Time for... WORKBOYS!!!!!
Let's get down to work, boys...
To defeat..

Had to reinstall KoA after this. Still one of my favorite RPGs. :D
Andy, I totally understand the worries about the modern influences/equipment in Westworld season 2 (I had them too) but it is rooted in the western setting. I preferred S1 but I thought 2 was great...if a little needlessly complicated.
I love that you ended the live-stream with an achevement 😀 Well done!
Yay, more Kingdoms! I bought it when it came out, but didn't really get into it til Ellen reminded me of it. What a great game!
I couldnt watch the livestream so im watching it with my cat barney whilst playing kingdoms of aamalur with a gaurdian character destiny
I know it's early but can't wait for the Christmas Challenges.
I love watching you guys play GTAO, both sister channels, so whenever you can keep giving us those videos I'll keep watch them
You guys are so great. I'm still sad that I had to miss this stream because of work. :/
On the flip side though, I am still very happy to not be the only one who knew about this amazing game! :D
I am addicted to this game because of Ellen. One of my fave game purchases! Duel wielding chakrams. Yes yes yes.
20:30 I remember turning the guy back into a wolf, and then just killing him right after xD
OH MY GOD! I CAN'T BELIEVE I MISSED THIS STREAM! I was looking forward to seeing it live

I know I'm way too late but I was very confused by the "it doesn't autosave" moment. It does but it helps when your Xbox clock is set properly 😂
I cant believe i missed this stream! I absolutely love this game!!!
Ellen's beautiful laugh convinced me to re-download the demo. Played a mage build, but didn't find chakrams in time. Had a ton of fun with the staffs and scepters. This stream finally convinced me. Going to pick up KoA before work!
If you guys can get a copy of it I would highly recommend you play heroquest. It would make for a nice mini series
One of my all-time favourite games! This has inspired me to start yet another new save! Chakram mage FTW!!
Welcome back Ellen hope you are feeling better, We all missed you. Wishing you love light and happiness (even if the idea of love and light feels awful to a dark and twisty monster like me...ps jane if you need loyal minions....) you are totally worth it.
I love how for the most part Luke and Andy are just chattering on and Ellen is just playing, ignoring the other 2 and getting her game on.
Finished this for the first time just today and really enjoyed it. Leo Nagai lol that’s way better then what I came up with.
Luke being a fan of a showtune makes me happy.
Love this game, love the channel it's a win win situation! thanks for the laughs Outside Xtra MORE ORCA PLEASE!!
To answer the question at 51:00, my Kingdoms of Amalur is the .hack series, specifically the remastered sequel, .hack//G.U. Last Recode.
Such an underrated gem. One of my favorite games of all time
OMG Luke I have a Mandeline Banjo/Ukulele!! If it's like mine it's 4 sets of 2 strings. not sure how to play it yet, I'm working on it!

One thing continues to bug me about this video lads: Is it time to work yet?
Shadowhunter It's

Love that war of the worlds quote Luke squeezed in at 8:30 :,D
I took too long to watch this one. One question I'd have of the oxventure crew is, when reading the spell descriptions, do you figure out the difference between a radius and diameter when casting your spells?

Luke constantly going back from the last upgrade screen is me whenever I play.
Great game I am still playing. By the way anyone else notice the glitches floating people people standing half in and out of tables and such.
Yay! Perfect to have on while I do all the boring chores.

How about the outsiders
As someone from Philly, it does not surprise me to hear that the London team got booed when they came out. That's how Philadelphia fans do.
