The OxBoXtra crew as characters in an old sci-fi horror B-movie: Jane - The scientist who takes things too far and creates a horrifying monster. Luke - Said horrifying monster, who gleefully runs around destroying everything. Mike - Jane's innocent co-scientist who becomes the monster's first victim. Andy - The army general pounding his fist on the table and saying that the monster must be stopped at all costs. Ellen - The one who is the first to show kindness to the monster and then mourns it when it dies, tragically.
“Well this is all covered in blood, which suggests I have been here before”. Luke channeling his inner bloodthirsty monster. This looks like a great game for venting frustration.
Azure Dragoon I think that lends itself to a full UA-cam play through though. Long single player games can get stale after the 20th stream, even if the first few streams were a blast. It would be great seeing Luke and Jane playing this game, with one person causing absolute carnage and the other egging them on
@@ChaosDeary Don't get me wrong, I totally understand that point there. I'm just saying it would be 2, maybe 3 streams at most and the third would be rather boring since there would be so little left to do when it came to cleaning up. I say this as someone who did go and 100% the game. I'd love to see Luke continue his Bloodborne gameplay, even though he got stuck at points.
The fact that the 'protagonist' kept triggering Ellen's arachnophobia just shows how spot on the animation was. Loved watching every minute, both the gameplay and poor Ellen's reactions.
I want to see Luke finish this game as a reverse fear academy, wirh other Oxcrew members subbing in Ellen's spot, to see their horrified reactions (or cheering) at Luke's carnage
Surprised none of the outside xbox gang probably wasn’t asked despite their love for games like this where you’re playing as basically Marvel’s Carnage on steroids
Worms, spaghetti, tentacles, lots of different theories for what the monster is, my bet is it's what happened to Yarny after they left him in the office all quarantine.
Love how much fun Luke was having, just tearing a whole facility apart lol Ellen still doesn't get a break from Fear Academy even as an observer lol Puns and jokes were great lol
My favorite part of the stream is where Luke remembers how bad 24 in London is and stops the stream. Brilliant. I absolutely love it. I was laughing the whole time. Luke, never change. I love you man.
"throbbing biomass" "you know how much i love to spread my biomass" "you know when you come back from work and just... spread your biomass?" luke luke, please
Fun fun, thanks for the stream, got some tips if you like. 1: Throw things - vent seals, desks, even corpses. If you think you need to, throw something really hard at them to knock down/kill. Also if you can throw the living to kill them, suit or no. Open a vent and hold it, then hurl it at whom you want. 2: Stealth kill - You can move slowly by holding movement near Carrion, clinging to surfaces above/below your victim and use the tendril to grab them super horror flick style. 3: Speedy Carrion - Your own mass, if moving fast enough, can knock over people/break things. 4: The glowy square wall things - They are sealed upgrade areas, you didn't have the upgrades to reach em. The dim out if you did them. 5: Decapitate - If a meal is dead, you can carefully place your tendril on the victims head and give it a firm yank for more health. Carrion is such a sloppy eatter unless things are bite size...
This game rides the fine line of triggering my intense tripophobia, like this starting screen that has the weird tongue thing that makes me a bit tense but I’m not going to die from it
The game is really cleverly made (in a horrible kind of way). I love how they used the idea of playing a weird tentacle monster. When I saw that your ability, as a big guy, overwrites the web I thought it to be wonky but as it turned out, it's key to what they wanted to achieve and makes the game far more tactical. Also, They nailed the animation of the Carrion. When you're running away from enemies attacking you, for example, I've got the same feeling of insects and spiders creeping away from danger. It gave me the chill just watching it. Quite brilliant.
I'm many hours late to this (stupid work/living in the US), but every time I heard "web" I had flashbacks to the Spider-Man streams of yore. Remember those? Where people could be close together and pretend they were a Spider-Man?
Thanks for playing this game. It inspired me to look for it online, and I discovered that it can be played on Linux as well as Windows and Macintosh. I can play a lot of Windows games using the WINE system, but its always nice to find a new native Linux game to play.
I think I'd happily watch a let's play of this, with Luke gleefully puzzle-murdering everything and Ellen seamlessly switching from helpful to horrified, over & over.
See, people? This is what happens when you get the Flying Spaghetti Monster angry. rAmen! (And oh dear, Luke really are enjoying this, aren't you?) EDIT: also horrified Ellen faces: 24:50
I want to watch Ellen finish deadspace! I was way too scared to play it, but with Ellen freaking out and luke you know being there it was awesome! Plus I need to know how it ends!!!

Ellen getting close enough to show kindness to a man eating monster?
Head canon says that MIKE is an acronym for, "My [Jane's] Intelligent Kinematics Experiment."
Ellen would either be the one to show it kindness and mourn when it dies, or the sole survivor who boots it out an airlock.

The contrast between Luke's glee and Ellen's horrified face was amazing all through that

Carrion my wayward son

Lay their bloody heads to rest
They can't cry no more.
Oh I say, well done!

Those are the achievements right?
Say what you will, but Sam and Dean would have this carrion mess sorted by now.

Not gonna lie, I did panic a bit when I heard the sticky key beep.
For what it's worth, you can turn it off in accessibility settings. Blew my mind when I found out.

Loved this, especially Luke's sheer matter of fact blood-lust. Simply wonderful.

"You know I love to spread it" -Luke Westaway, 2020
Luke, keep your legs and butter to yourself.
The Worms at the end seemed like the most fun Ellen had all stream. Also, I wonder if any of this will affect perceptions of Luke for Among Us.
Luke's quotes are getting even better:
Before it was "I liked that stream when we were naked", now it is "You know I love to spread my biomass"
47:15 "I am your king!" please we all know carrion follows a republic,
Indeed, the Carnivorously Aligned Republic of Rapid Ingesting and Outrageous Nomming.
How long were you away? In the meantime we became a kingdom, don’t know if you’ve heard.

Luke is sus. I saw him venting a lot

Omg 7:03 ! The look of horrified shock then... “well, that happened.”
"Look at the size of me!"
Okay, Wheatley. Calm down.
Can't wait for the sequel: "My Wayward Son"

Worms, spaghetti, tentacles, lots of different theories for what the monster is, my bet is it's what happened to Yarny after they left him in the office all quarantine.
Around 1h14m "Oh what a feeling when I'm spreading biomass on the ceiling" .... Phrasing, Luke, phrasing!
The sheer joy of being a tentacle monster really makes me have more understanding of Resident Evil bosses.

Danger snow is even more appropriate given the television.
Spaghetti and ketchup was a bad meal choice with this stream...
maybe a marinara sauce with ground chuck seasoned with herbs? :D
You really could have left out the words "with this stream" ;)
I love that the second thing Luke does after getting spider web powers is to just YEET people willy nilly

Ellen is so delightful, trying her best to help even though she very much does not want the monster to dismember & eat people
Luke's laughing at around 14 minutes sounded SO much like Kain in the first Blood Omen.
Luke horror: Kill and consume everything.
Ellen horror: welcome to egg room :D
It practically begs to be taken out of context => Luke: "I wanna eat some more people"
I feel tension playing or watching dead space but carrion? it's just funny! XD
30 seconds into the game and I was SOLD!
Luke: I'm like a magical spider!
