    It is bonkers how much these have skyrocketed in price it seems like everything is crazy expensive but then again I'm from California where everything is expensive 🙃

    I have decided I'm gonna get a 9th gen Si myself. I get it that ppl say the 8th gen is better as far as modding but I'm not a teenager who wants to race all the time. I'm a father and this will be my daily driver as well. I don't want an obnoxious sounding car that's gonna beat me up when I drive it. So hard to find an 8th gen that's not all modded out or beat to hell. That's why I'm gonna just get a 9th gen. Can't wait til I get mine.

      They're good cars. I love the car I have now, but the Civic checks a lot of boxes. I am glad to have had one and to have experienced a Civic Si. Hope my recap on owning one helped out somehow. Good luck with yours!

    I just picked up a 15 si white sedan with 131k miles I traded my 11 si sedan for it I had it for 3 years it was very very reliable not one single mechanical issue In the 3 years but after having the 9th gen for the last month I agree it’s just a better car period the 8th gen is showing age the 9th still feels so modern don’t get me wrong the 8th gen is a good car but it has some flaws the bad paint sagging headliner 3rd gear grind 06/08 missing trim pieces on the windshield and very low torque on the 9th none of that is a issue and I don’t gotta downshift to pass someone the interior alone just kills any 8th gen this is so nice !!!!!! And refined yeah aftermarket is not as strong as the 8th gen but you can still make it a beast

    I have a white civic si fg4. Daily driver with flashpro, skunk2 Cai, megapower rr exhaust is getting installed today. I've owned the car for about a year, 50k miles. The base maps running hella rich. After I get a downpipe time for a tune.

    • @Anastasiofan
      @Anastasiofan  3 роки тому +1

      It's super simple to tune for mass air flow. There's nothing to it. Mass air flow voltage table is easy to change once you start data logging the closed loop corrections. The closed loop correction percentage mapped against RPM and mass air flow voltage makes working the table super easy. I had a skunk2 Cai and an rv6 catted downpipe, so if you need a tune for that combination, I could send it your way.

      It will run forever. I had an opportunity to sell mine for a good amount of money during this used car crunch, so I made the move. The new car I got was selling for what they always sell for, so it was a good excuse to just do it.

    I'm in Virginia and would love to have this car! I have a 99 Si w 178k miles on it and I'm never gonna sell it because it's in too good of shape. But It's time for a newer platform while I keep my 99 for a weekend cruiser. Hopefully I can find one as clean as yours. How many miles did it have when you sold it?

    The 8th gen sedan especially the 09/11 looks good the 8th gen coupe looks ok but I will agree about the interior 9th gen looks wayyyyy better on the inside especially with features as far as looks go stock for stock yes the 9th looks a bit better but that k20 just hits so hard much respect to the k24 but that 8000+ redline and that vtec kick makes up for it I own a 11 si sedan and a 14/15 will definitely be my next car

    • @Anastasiofan
      @Anastasiofan  2 роки тому

      Yeah. I'd much rather daily drive and live in this car than the 8th. I value the connected car feel a lot but there's a place for some of those gadgets/phone connectivity/comfort details as well. It's a balance. The 8th definitely had the better cylinder head, but the lack of torque in that 2 liter is just not super practical if that makes sense. That k20 head k24 bottom end makes a lot of sense for these cars.

    The 2013 comes with screen as well, the only interior difference from the 2013 to 2014/15 is the red inserts in seats and the start push button.

      False. 2013 only comes with a “screen” if you have Navi. 14/15 came with a screen regardless.

    I got an 8th gen si as a 2nd car. Pretty much learned alot just messing around with it.

    • @Anastasiofan
      @Anastasiofan  3 роки тому +1

      Very forgiving platform to learn on. I had one for a year, and I had plans for it. But I opted to get it out of my way, get the cash and just focus on my Firebird. I really can't justify having my new car, 8th Gen and my old Firebird with just a single door, 400 SQ ft garage for a workspace.
      The 8th Gen had LSD etc, so it's just a great way to go. I do think my 9th Gen SI Sedan was a better, more modern looking car, but that's all preference obviously.

    The eighth GEN is slow, compared to the ninth the only thing and the only reason people like the eighth GEN over The ninth is because you can hear the VTEC kick in, big deal. I’m not a child that’s why I bought the ninth generation. And I pick it up today I could buy anything I want. I don’t want the new one too much technology too much pressure on a small motor and I don’t like the eighth GEN because you have to ring it out every time you drive it in order to your, Your precious VTEC.
