  • The 2015 Honda Civic Si was the final generation of Si Civics with a naturally aspirated inline-4 with a true VTEC setup. This Civic Si features a 2.4L engine mated to a slick shifting 6 speed gearbox, and has a mile high redline. Find out if this generation Civic was the best of the bunch!

2014-2015 was the 9th gen model refresh. Honda is famous for doing a half model run refresh on the Civics. 2012-2013 9th gen model years are known for looking to much like a stock baseline civics and yes, the "ugly ducklings"

@@joshvalbuena4750 the experience is wonderful. Had it for about a year and a couple of months. This car can be used for a daily, sure, and I in fact use it as a daily for now. But this is no ordinary car when it comes to racing, and I mean that entirely. I’ve simply glided around corners, the high end rev in the i-vtec band, along with the torque of the engine, and when you have a goof driver like myself behind the wheel controlling all of it at the same time, this thing pushes the damn curves. I also have some chassis rigidity, coilovers, stiffer rear control arms, and a thicker rear sway bar from progress. Let me tell you man, i dust absolutely every car i come across, no joke. Only a type r can keep up

2015 the best Si by far. Looks good, easy to use, affordable, reliable fun. I tried the new one and it’s certainly nice and more refined, but the turbo engine of the 10th gen can’t rev out like the previous n/a engines and it’s just not the experience I think most people are looking for in the Si.

What has fascinated me Joe, right from the start with your channel is that you review cars that I would never give a second look at. Having said that, I appreciate just about anything on four wheels as well as two wheels and have had more than just a few of each in my life, but sometimes if ain't broke, I don't try and fix it. In other words, I never had access to your mind expanding "boost" and so I couldn't really get much further than Corvette and oh boy, I'm going to regret this . . . . . . yes, Mustang as well. lol I also find it interesting that not all that long ago a "naturally aspirated" vehicle was one that was not fuel injected, it was carbeurated.

It is so cool when people tell me that they watch just to see what I have to say about each vehicle. I am grateful for this opportunity to share my love for cars with others. What’s up, nice work btw Raiti. I own an 8th gen 2006 Honda Civic Si sedan in Galaxy Grey metallic. I still drive it as my daily driver and as of 3-23-2019, he has 227,908 miles! Original engine, transmission, never have had any problems besides regular maintenance. Never once has any dashboard warning light come on, with the exception of the TPMS light which came on a total of 4 times in the light winters here in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. VTEC still kicks at about 5,800 rpm until redline all while just as silent at idle from the day I bought him. If you follow the Honda manual maintenance minder system and do all the maintenance when told on the dashboard, these cars will run forever. Just to throw this in too, I’ve done almost 228k miles in 13 years and I have never used synthetic oil and my oil is changed between 7k-8k miles. To this day, the dealer always uses conventional 5w30 oil for $24.95+tax/disposal. Every few months, I get coupons for $19.95. The manual says you can use it, but they don’t require nor recommend it.

I still recommend rebuilding the engine with forged internals just to be on the safe side. I believe kraftwerk still make supercharged kits for these engines, but u will need to upgrade the clutch.

Absolutely love both the exterior and interior look of this older model, much more than the last gen. Just one correction; the sentence "if you don't know how to drive a manual, you're not going to be driving this car" should be "if you don't know how to drive a manual, learn it and try this car". :)

Iv'e owned Hondas for 33 years including numerous Si's and an S2000. I had a 9th gen Si (2015) as in your vid. I'm now in a 2017 Si. Hands down I prefer the new 10th gen Civic and the new generation of turbo charged engines. Honda has done the right thing moving on with the times and introducing usable torque. Light weight, fast yet economical, affordable. The 10th gen chassis is light years ahead of the 9th. Mission accomplished Honda with furthering Si heritage to the future VTEC or not. The k24 is wonderful and will always remain so but I'm on board with the new L series.

It's all about the driving experience and the 2.4 i-vtec 6-speed is music to my ears when ripping thru the gears on a long winding country road on a beautiful Sunday morning. You can keep your 1.5T scooting around town from stop light to stop light. I would rather DRIVE Tujunga Canyon Road on this Si.

I always dreamed of a Civic SI when I was a teenager.
Last year I had some money saved and my car was starting to give me more troubles than I could handle, I didn't want to get in debt for 5-6 years at a dealership so I decided to buy a Civic SI cash but the only one I could afford was a salvage one.
I did my research and made sure there was no front damage, so far only put new tires a few oil changes and change the thermostat, very minimum spending after initial purchased.
But I don't feel is that fast, I seen a couple reviews and the engine just doesn't sound or feel like the videos.

Excellent review and I really like that car! Also, for those interested there were zonks given at 8:15 and at 9:46! 😎👍

Wish you got more in depth with the engine that’s what I came here for. Owned a 2015 civic si sedan. Loved it. I recommend it.

I was so sure I was gonna end up with one of these. Took a brand new 2015 for a test drive. It was the car I was dreaming about for a decade. I was finally going to own a BRAND NEW CIVIC SI!!! Annddd.....it was so slow!! It was too late. I had been spoiled by American TORQUE in a previous vehicle I owned! I bought something else..... Oh well! At least the new one with the turbo has torque...

My favorite will always be the 7the gen EP3 Si. The only thing I hate about looking for an older civic Si model is that 99% of them are horrendously modified or excessively modified. It's so hard to find some stock or barley modded.

Nice clean car!!! The 4 door is cool too!!! Wish Honda stuck with n/a and 2.4 on new si's! Don't like 1.5 turbo or cvt!!!
