Dont know exactly why, but something’s “strange” in the BACK. Not as attractive. Maybe they should have done something more like Q8 back style, dont know.
Wow, except the front, the car is quiet ugly. The back is a lot like shooting brake, e.g. Arteon, and the sportback roofline is also off. The lights are awsome though!
I think it’s all the black plastic cladding
It almost looks good in that grey and the orange. But yes, something is off in back the styling is less styling and more humping. Just imagine if they made it as beautiful as the A7 sloping rear...anyway the real Q5 is much better looking design. Really needs more trunk space and some standard equipment upgrades to be the class winner. (Heated rear seats and steering wheel should be standard on Premium Plus)

Great review. Like this dash more than the Q8 or eTron: less screens and more physical buttons.

Can you tell me about is coasting function in equiped vehicles configurable? Can it be switched off like start-stop by user, or maybe only with sport mode, or not at all?

Can't wait to see it in real here in Canada. Although, not sure we're going to get the air suspension on the Q5 version... Maybe just on the SQ5 version... We'll see...

Hi, can anyone tell me what the yellow warning bar on the dash display is for that comes on between the 20:26 and 20:50 mark on the video? It seemed to come on and go off when passing between some traffic lights.

I'm a bit shallow, so I like this form better than the regular one. It's between this and the X4 as my next car and, although I'm a bit of a BMW fan boy, I just can't come to terms with the looks of the X4. Here's to the SQ5 with the 3 liter diesel engine in 1-2 years or so! :-)

I have the Q3 sportback, prefer that to this Q5 sportback as the side rear on this Q5 don’t have the same muscular crease over the rear wheel arches

The regular Q5 always looked a little frumpy to me. This definitely looks better. Hope the US gets it.

Doesn’t look so nice. I was waiting for the sport back version for 3 years. Now disappointed... for some reason the q3 and q8 sport back version look stunning but unfortunately not the q5 one.
Spot on the rear taillights look much nicer on Q3 sportback & Q8, also the rear slope loos better on Q3 sportback

Idk if it’s just in Europe but in the USA Apple CarPlay seems to be standard on almost all audi models
Apple doesn't have as big a presence in Europe as it does in the US

Is the X4 facelift coming next year better than this one?
sq5 diesel with proper quattro and air suspension is the way to go. All you need. Just put some aftermarket exhaust cause it actually sounds pretty good for a diesel then.
sq5 or the model y performance...i have to make a very hard decision soon.

like the front and side, but something didn't work for me or is too bland about the hatchdoor (3:50)... tail lights too big, door too flat maybe?🤔

Get an Allroad instead. Just as much room but handles and looks better. Same basic platform and I've driven both, and own a 2017 Allroad, and while the Q5 is nice, the Allroad is much better.

I like it better than Q5. I almost looks like the Porsche Macan. I wonder how it compares as you seem to get a lot more for your money in this car vs the Macan.
Did the audi q5 also get the mib3 platform on infotainment? If so there's lots to say at least on the Skoda variant of the mib 3 infotainment...Just the fact that it can decide to be dead silent whatever you do all of the sudden is an exiting feature...Only thing you can do is to shutdown the car and let it rest for an hour or two..Or when you are on the wireless Apple CarPlay..try to play some song on Spotify and then go to some other menus while playing..like change the ambient lighting or change to some more bass in the sound..that will hang the spotify apple CarPlay graphics in an instant and guess what..you need to reboot the system to get it back again..until next time..And more...Anyway Q5 is a nice car so I hope it got some other infotainment system..
This is not the most recent MIB3 - glad it's not, that means this one here is still fast :)
@@autogefuehl I totally understand that..My experience with MIB3 on my new Skoda 2021 is really not good. Its slow as..And as stated sometimes it gets mute..no sound and no way of solving uit without closing down the car and wait for an hour or so...Then its back..And rebooting the mib3 system does not help at all..And the fact that the menus in Apple Carplay freezes when you go into other functions is also annoying...Plus then the fact that on Columbus the most expensive navigation the function with "view in view" was removed which was great in mib 2..They also removed all possibility to add personal POI like speedcams and such..So to me MIB 3 seems to be the old version not so well tested, slow and rather bad...While mib 2 is the great one which is fast and have more functions..Isnt that crazy??
Only good new thing in mib 3 is the wireless Apple Carplay..well if it had worked well it would have been..

It's strange, that there is actually more legroom in a Q3 than in this Q5.
It seems unnecessarily tide in the rear considering, that the Q5 has a 15cm longer wheelbase than the more spacious Q3 ...

The Q8 looks great, this thing not so much.
This one is for people with no friends and families. Perfect.
All of the promotional pictures showed this having a flat bottomed steering wheel. This one doesn't have one, and no matter what trim level you build on their website (Audiusa), even the SQ5 Sportback, doesn't have the flat bottomed wheel.
I love the facelift - Front only...
Audi no doubt makes the best SUV coupe's. But I prefer the Q3 sportback to this.
ver very big mistake taking out the MMI control knob, the touch screen is placed to high, uncomfortable to hit the right spot on the screen
The lack of bonnet insulation is unacceptable for a car at this price...
Perhaps Audi found it unnecessary in this application. Why fit something which is unnecessary?
@@robertcook2572 I understand this logic but to the potential customer it seems cheap logic. When a pay 50000+ euros I want everything. My 24000euros DS4 has bonnet insulation.
@@nikostzinopoulos7736 Presumably, some of the extra 26, 000 paid for the engineering which ensured that the insulation is unnecessary. The sort of customer for which Audi is pitching would derive great satisfaction from this knowledge and would be proud to show off his discerning taste.

Seeing it is Dragon orange, a great color, the Q5 sportback looks like a FORD escape. That's just unacceptable. The Q5 is a strangely pretty SUV, how did they make it look like a FORD escape?

I think Audi should have not rushed this coupe Q5, I am sure the outcome would me much more appealing with the new gen Q5; the free-standing infotainment screen looks so outdated...They have created a decent rear end design for the new body but the overall appearance is not as handsome as the Q3 coupe or the rivals X4 or GLC coupe...
Too bad the dash-screen is not fitted in the dashboard like the Q3

The screen stuck on the coaming looks daft, just stuck somewhere that had a space.

I'd always go for a diesel for a vehicle like this. Petrol makes no sense with our gass prices. Maybe in germany where wages are double than here in Croatia.

This design language from Audi was fantastic in the late 90s, early 2000s but it's been getting boring for a long time now.

I don't know. It's an outdated platform, a small vehicle, and yet it costs almost as much as a GLE Coupe 350d when you spec it up a bit. I've always been an Audi fan boy, but this is a hard sell. On a plus side, they at least kept the knobs! :)
It competes with the GLC coupe and the BMW X4. Are you saying that spec for spec it's more expensive? Are you comparing apples to apples?

At least the screens are 1080p and high resolution virtual cockpit which still looks modern. The climate control unit with buttons is also intuitive and nice to use
