I’ve seen these scenarios on the ccs I took back in late July 2022 in Miami Florida also with a procedure code as well so it was like diagnosis codes along with a procedure code all as one option

In my exam I could hardly apply the process because the codes were all different, I need your opinion please.I was only able to do some exercises by applying the elimination process.I studied all the AAPC guides, I saw your Videos but unfortunately I did not pass my exam so here I am watching your videos again to study more and more and to be able to pass my exam.
I am sorry to hear you didn't pass the exam. How long have you been watching my training videos. When all the codes are different then you are lucky because once you can identify the differences between the fist set of codes of A,B,C & D and find out which one is the correct code based on the report, then you are done you don't need to look at the second set of codes. I hope you get it. Don't give up, you learn from your mistake and you will be fine next time. Please watch all my videos and take notes. Good luck!

Hi Son. I passed my CCS exam nearly 20 years ago and the book that I used was " Professional Review Guide for the CCS Exam". My videos have already covered the CPT outpatient portion so all you need is to focus on the DRG, PCS and inpatient case studies. To save money, you don't need to buy a brand new book 2022 version because the concept is still the same; 2020 or 2021 version should still be fine. I have been busy working on a project at work this summer so I will be making new videos starting next month. Good luck with your study.

Code O09.291 supervision of pregnancy with other poor reproductive or obstetric history already implicates the a history of stillbirth. I hope it helps.
i will not stop thanking you for all this great free training given to us here. Sir base on your explanation in assigning code ( O80) is for a patient between 16 - 34 years old without complication, that any patient below 16 years and above 34 years we should not assign code O80. My question is what of if the patient delivered without complication and their age is 15 years and 35 years old respectively , which code can we assign for this type of patient as primary diagnosis. Wait to here from you soon sir.
Hi Rasheed. Thank you for the question. I believe ICD-10- CM would like to keep tract of those high risk pregnancy patients including elderly pregnancy 35 years and older and Young pregnancy less than 16 years old before the delivery and when they come in for a delivery and if there are no complications during the labor or delivery then O80 is used regardless of age. I rarely use O08 because they always come in with some past medial history and that will disqualify O80. I hope it helps.

How many month it will take time to study for a CPC exam
Mr. Nguyen, in the case study at 22:30 is any infant that is labeled a "large-for-dates" infant automatically considered to complicated a pregnancy? I would not have thought to code it as a complication and would have considered coding it as "exceptionally large newborn baby" with code P08.0
Hi Brandy. P00-P96 are for use on newborn records ONLY. You need to open the tabular list, under chapter 16, tab and highlight the note so that you won't make the same mistake. I hope it helps.

Mr. Nguyen, in the case study at 14:12 how was it determined that the diabetes was pre-existing and not gestational?
If the patient is pregnant and documentation doesn't indicate that the patient has a history of diabetes then you can assume it is related to pregnancy or gestational DM. I hope it helps.
Question no. 2
Poor history- 2 still births previously why code O09.291 ( first trimester) Still birth is after 20 weeks gestation and miscarriage before 20 weeks. So poor OB history for Still Birth should default to O09.292 ( second trimester) , correct? If it was Miscarriage O09.291. Current gestation is 10 weeks and first trimester.
Please explain and correct me if I am wrong.

Hi Le . Code O24.01 Pre existing diabetes mellitus in pregnancy, 2nd trimester doesn't specify the type of diabetes, either type 1 or type 2 and that is why you need to assign E10.65 as a secondary Dx. I hope it helps

The teacher never mentioned CEUS, never stated I'd be an apprentice first. And every job requires experience and the ones that actually accept CPC-As require more than two years experience. But it takes two years for the A to be removed so I'm not sure how a CPC-A could have more than 2yrs experience. Do you have any advice for me? I began these courses under the guise that I can work remotely. Thank you for all you help with passing my exam. I know you told me to not stop now a few months ago. I just don't know what to do right now.
Take the COC exam. The more credentials you have the better chance for you to find a job. Who cares about the "A" when you have multiple credentials. It shows that you have the ability to learn and become a great coder. The COC exam is very similar to the CPC so you can do it. Good luck!

Hi Theresa. First congratulations on passing the CPC exam. if you know how to open a word document and type then you should be all set. The coding software is very easy to use, just follow the logic tree and click and that will be all. Good luck!
Sir in question 3. Code o24.012 actually does state it’s type 1 diabetes mellitus in pregnancy in second trimester
Hi Sae. If you look under category O24.0, it instructs you to use an additional code from category E10 to further identify any manifestation. Lets say if the patient has diabetes with kidney complication, or vascular complication then you will need a use a combo code to report these conditions. I hope it helps.
I caught this as well. The note above the code O24.012 states to use a code from E10, not E11, so I believe the correct code set would be O24.012, E10.9
Question 3 How do I know it's pre-existing diabetes? The question doesn't say if it is gestational or if the patient had it before pregnancy.

They do not provide you anything in the exam room. If you can find it in your CPT book then use it.
At 15:20, I believe you showed the incorrect Use Additional Code. The note above the code O24.012 states to use a code from E10, not E11. Wouldn't the correct code set be O24.012, E10.9? It states that the diabetes is uncontrolled but we don't even know if the patient is hyperglycemic or hypoglycemic.

Keyword is the condition. Definition for Elevated blood sugar is (hyperglycemia) E10.65 Type 1 diabetes
Questions about the exam do you pick the days you can take it and time and is it back to back days and how many questions and hours they give you for the first part.
@@jayhutch794 Yes, I was able to choose the days and time I could take each part and the days did not have to be back to back, I just preferred to take the exam that way.
Each day consisted of answering 50 questions. Two hours for each day, for a total of four hours.
@@pickledweed I saw someone that youtube video that said you can also take both parts the same day just hours apart. I hope you passed I am nervous but I will just study as much as I can.
