I Will always thank you for your great impact on humanity, especially we new coders, Sir I want to call your attention to questions 1,2,3 and 4. let me start with question 1, Immature lung P28.0, question 2, maternal complication of use of alcohol P04.3, question 3, maternal drug-addicted P04.49. Why we don't report these codes with the chart? and question 4, why P51.8 instead P51.9. wait to hear from you sir
Hi Rasheed. Question number 1: you can add P28.0 for immature lung but when it progresses to an acute respiratory distress syndrome then I use P22.0. Question number 2: if you look under the code P04.3, you will see the Exclude1 note for fetal alcohol syndrome which means that the code excluded should NEVER be used at the same time as the code above. Question number 3: the if you look under the P04.49 you will see the Exclude2, note which you can add if both condition are documented please read it. I used P51.8 because the hemorrhage is documented due the umbilical stump. P51.9 is for unspecified hemorrhage. I hope it helps

Hi Salus. Wow congratulations on passing the CPC exam with an impressive score. Thank you kindly for your prayer. If CPC is your first credential, then you should take the COC exam which is very similar to CPC and hopefully, you will have a better chance to find a good coding position. If you are currently working as a coder, then you should go for the CCS exam. It is much harder than the CPC and that will be my next video series. I wish you all the best.

I found a guideline in my ICD-10-CM that says, "...the code for birth weight sequenced before the code for gestational age." Shouldn't the correct answer for the baby born at 27 weeks with withdrawal syndrome be Z38.01, P07.16, P07.26, P96.1? In the answer, you have sequenced the gestational age before the weight. Can you clarify this?

The example in quotes was from Ch 11 Case 8 from the text...Understanding ICD-10-CM and PCS 2022. Mary Joe Bowie.
In ICD-10-CM, migraine condition will be listed under category Z43 so if you read every single code under this category you will find G43.101 is the right code to use for migraine with aura, not intractable, with status migrainosus. Cerebral infarction unspecified will be assigned with I63.9. I hope it helps

Hi Hoang , on 19:29, I just want to clarify if the birth weight has to be sequenced first before the gestational age code? I'm just seeing it on the notes under P07
Hi Denise. You can but it doesn't matter when the first listed code must be in category Z38... for a newborn baby. If the baby is being transferred to another hospital then you should sequence the code for the birth weight first. I hope it helps.

You can write notes in your book where you can easily find it so you should use the bank note sheet.

Why can i use the code Z3A.33 for 33 weeks gestation instead of P07.36
What’s the difference?
Z3A.33 is used only on the mother's record and not on the newborn record.

In your exercise question 7. I couldn’t find the code for child intrauterine growth retardation in the index. I searched under retardation, newborn, disease, disorder but it’s not under any of these. Please show me how i can search for it. Thank you very much
