    Wonderful thank you. Can you also do a video on how to PCS code the tunneled vs non-tunneled central line. Example tunneled hemodialysis cath. Having a hard time understand the infusion port and catheter. CC says 2 codes but should it be (02HV33Z or 06H033Z) and 0JHL3XZ. I am getting confused and haven’t found any helpful videos on youtube for this. Thanks. 😊

      Sure, I can add that to my list. Just a quick explanation between 02HV33Z or 06H033Z. The code selected for the insertion of the catheter will depend on where the tip of the catheter ends up being placed (final position of the tip of the catheter). So 02HV33Z is coded if the final resting place of the tip of the catheter is in the superior vena cava and 06H033Z is coded if the final resting place of the tip of the catheter is in the Inferior vena cava. If the procedure report does not specify where the tip is, you can check the imaging to find out that information.

      Thank you so much for responding. I am really looking forward learning more about this procedure and for more of your videos. I love the way you teach. Simple but thorough with illustrations and examples of how to code and what to look for. So happy I found your channel 😊❤

    Hi claire, if patient is admitted with Sob and is diagnosed with pna, arhf and heart failure. Antibiotics iv is given for pna and bopap for arhf and Catheraization is perform for heart failure so what will be the Pdx?

    • @medicalcodingclarified
      @medicalcodingclarified  4 місяці тому

      Hi! It is impossible to say for sure without reading the medical record myself, but if the heart failure was exacerbated and equally responsible for the admission, I would be more inclined to use that since a procedure was done.

    • @pritikale2354

      @@medicalcodingclarified yes heart failure is acute, but drg weightage is more for pna then heart failure. Still we will give heart failure as pdx.

      @@pritikale2354 Are you sure? HF as PDx should be higher weight with a cardiac cath coded. Also, I just want to stress, I am just giving general advice. I don't have the medical record, you do. You should select the PDx based on the circumstances of admission/treatment/evaluation rendered documented in the medical record.
