Hi Rip, thank you for taking the time to create a video that will not impact a single solitary human being on the entire planet. My friend Freddy actually got locked out of his bathroom and took a shit on his barbell. Freddy wasn't worried about shafts and bearings and goo. He did however sell that barbell to his neighbor sleepy Willie for $17. Pretty sure Freddy bought a yoga mat with the money. Crazy bastard. Thanks!
@@LV426Survivor same thing. 3 in 1 on a soft brush. But a good finish generally holds up well unless you are one of those who has acidic sweat or live near a large body of salt water. When in doubt get a stainless steel bar. Problem solved at that point.
In case you nerds were wondering how to... you know... to this video: 1:47
Always important to keep your shaft clean.

My bar is bent. I've been lifting over it's rated weight for a while.
how much did you pay for it?
@@DanteLikesRock £80 or so I think. Not much.
Rip, you recommend water or oil-based lubes?
3 on 1 oil works well. Rogue has a demo on taking apart an Ohio Bar and they use 3 in 1 oil. I cleaned my bars during lockdown and they spin like new.

@@HAL-dm1eh yeah I know. My mind has been in and out of functioning for the last week.
If ever there was a sexual metaphor in the title of a video, then this is it.
I'd agree if this was a Brandon Campbell Diamond video. He loves to go on about keeping a stiff shaft clean.
Have we finally run out questions?
Actually it's a good question. I have around $1000 in barbells and I like to properly maintain them. It makes sense to take care of your investment.
Wild Bill fair enough
@@Nerd.Immunity. but yeah. It seems we are running a bit low on questions
Wild Bill what do you do to maintain the shaft and if any surface rust appears?
