• MR.BIG - Addicted to t...
It’s amazing to see how Paul has matured with his playing and style. He’s gone very bluesy but can still shred like the old days and as good as anyone
Truly a guitar legend, and a very humble and nice guy
Dude in the crowd is just lovin it :)
He's never gonna forget this experience
Jesus! The moment I let PG slip my mind, I find this and realize he truly is STILL untouchable and on another universe with his playing! What an inspiration!
Paul Gilbert’s my biggest guitar inspiration. Started learning by watching videos of him.
You know, with easy-access lessons from UA-cam, etc., it’s become ever-more common to hear guitarists who have “connected the dots” and can shred, but whenever you listen to a true master like Paul, it becomes very clear the difference. Gilbert has forgotten more about shred than most will ever truly learn. His musicianship, knowledge and expertise is second to none.
Paul Gilbert and Jeff Beck are two of my favorite guitarists, because they're always exploring and always creating. They never rest on what they've accomplished in the past. They're such an inspiration to me. It makes me want to follow in the footsteps of the great masters of rock.
Nobody can play like Paul Gilbert. There are plenty of great guitarists out there, but there is only one Paul Gilbert. Years ago he got the label of being a shredder, and he is a shredder. But here's the thing- he is so much more than just a shredder. He is an awesome rhythm guitarist and he is a master of various styles of music, and that's what makes him so great. (Oh, and he is a superb teacher, too!)
If I could play like anyone of my choice, it would be Paul Gilbert.
If I would chose Shawn lane.....
Good, I'd be picking Guthrie Govan any time, your loss :p
My personal pick is Eric Johnson but I love PG and attribute my love of technicality to him.
I call SRV then.
Steve Vai/shawn lane
Anytime I start feeling a little cocky I turn on UA-cam and watch Paul Gilbert.
It is NOT humanly possible to play this fast, accurate & articulate❗️ Yet here we are.
He was Buckethead’s teacher, that says everything!
bill R it was so good to hear buckethead actually say that
Cody it was good to hear Buckethead say anything! :) I thought that interview was fantastic
bill R And yet Bucket is still inferior :-(
@Nature Boy hhahahahahahahahaha
Buckethead> Gilbert
He is pretty much the only one of the shredder guitarists who do solo spots like these with an actual groove. Love it!
The musician that can play a masterpiece without any rythym or beat.
Amazing player and person. At G4 he was letting us come up on stage and trade lix over a looper during class. It felt like jammin with a friend. Excellent teacher too. He made himself available quite a bit too hanging out after the classes during his free time. Super experience for us all that were blessed to attend.
G4?
@@panamajr7 Starting in 2014 there was an Annual Clinic usually in California called G4. Satriani was the featured artist and instructor but there are about ten total instructors. Guitar classes all day every day and private concerts at night. It was incredible. Plus a meet and greet, signings, etc.
Thanks UJC-Projekt for share this. I'm a Gilbert-Fan since twenty years sure. Swiss-greatings.
Best guitar faces ever!
Never have I seen fingers move with such fluid succession...not Vai, not Eddie, not even Yngwie....like pistons in an engine at a slow idle or at revving max. The other side of his coin is that he's such a gracious dude despite living the famous life. Like I always taught my students; "I don't care how great you become as a guitarist, I expect you to be just as great a person." Mega respect, admiration & love to performers like Paul Gilbert. - a retired performing unknown.
I never thought I’d say this but as a long time EVH fan...well you know what I’m thinking
Mr. Guitar! He is the most serious player ever to play. Eats,Breaths, and Sleeps guitar! He pays the price for being so awesome. Ask him a simple question. Like what car is the best looking. Or what is your fav. book? Just about every answer will come from his childhood. That is when guitar took over his life. Before guitar was the normal child. After guitar all other things pretty much stopped.
quite amazing...and proof that incredible chops and great feel can indeed mix.
What an awesome exciting performance!! Still great as ever.!! -string skipped arpeggios to boot.
I have seen many talented guitarists live. Tony Iommi, Ritchie Blackmore, Gary Moore, Randy Rhoads, Tom Morello, Bucketheat, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani but Paul Gilbert is the one I remember as just being so obviously excited by the joy of playing guitar. His obvious enthusiasm for his craft and for his instrument was so infectious.
I had a blast going to music school with you guys and I graduated mr. Big Paul Gilbert and the guys what's up
Not even a super dirty tone, just extremely clean playing
like the dude omg!!!! :)
always great playing from the talented paul
Love him and what he does! TOP!
Gotta love dear ol Paul Gilbert!
one of the best live solo from PG. Its amazing.
Rest In Peace Pat Torpey
His playing is so expressive! That's what impresses me most.
Rest Well Pat Torpey.Say Hello to ALL who Reside In Music Heaven.
He’s a monster... fantastic
you are the best !!!
such a well rounded player,,,,but I love his blues playing the best,,,,Paul has always been one of my favs,,,,,met him at namm, what an honor that was
Played without a beat, never missed a single beat
There are few guitar virtuosos who always can positively surprise withe their melody or rythm solutions, so they can play even shred long not boring audience. Paul Gilbert is 1 of them !
YJM inspired me to play guitar, PG inspires me to play guitar more and more..he is so cool and good.
It's awesome to see how he's still doing his thing after all these years and playing music that HE wants to play. Paul could have sold out at any moment in his life since he was a teen but he never did. You could probably build a house with the contracts he's turned down. *an assumption What a great human being is Paul Gilbert.
Amazing sound and lighting and female puppy photo send pelepa
The best period, many different styles. Can play it all.
The King of Shred!
most underrated guitare player ever if you Ask me .
Amazing
So clean . .
the best shredder/hard rock player ever
This is crazy...i miss Mr.Big
The reason he wore the guitar on his back was Weigh him down to avoid levitating during his awesome solo
I think people forget how phenomenal he still is!
2nd comment.
Paul Gilbert is the most amazing guitar player I've ever seen.
He's like the Chet Atkins of rock. That's saying a lot.
I don't like using the term "best", because it can send the wrong message but Paul is a musical and guitar genius. Over the last 2 years or so, he has become one of my favorites and I wish him all happiness and success.
Then you should go out and listen to more guitar players.
verbotenco
Feels good to be a piece of shit, huh?
You are an idiot. Do you even play guitar? Guess not.
I knew it, you are just some radio rock fanboy with zero knowledge of guitar world. Top it off with the fact that your argument is lacking in substance. Really? Throwing expletives to people's face? Your intelligence is obvioulsy below me.
Took you all day to come up with that?
Guessing? Name calling? Dildo love? Sexual insults?
That's all you've got?
Yeah, I said Chet Atkins idiot.
Guitar players know who he is... If you see one around, try talking to them. Maybe they will tell you who he is.
I'll bet that Paul Gilbert knows who he is.......
But I have no interest in educating you so your out of luck.
Again.
my super hero!!!
Wow👍that lick was awsum.
I get interested in phases of ideas, so my teachers come and go. There was a Gilbert solo (bare chested, skinny, long-haired), I used to teach guitar students about repetition. What I really like is, he keeps learning. Like Beck and McLaughlin, every few years it's something else. So, he and Mike Stern are my new teachers (again). It's right there in your lap. 7:01 to 7:20 explains the Meaning of Life!
Saw Mike Stern back in 2000 or so in St Louis at the duck room..he was phenomenal. complex lines!!!
GOD GOD AND GOD!! NO NOT PAUL BUT GOD MADE THIS GUY A GUITAR ANGEL FROM GUITAR HEAVEN OMG ONE OF BEST ON EARTH LOVE HIM INSANELY XXOO BROTHER
1st comment baby!!
I must make a wish...May the power of higher beings grant me strength to become a great axe warrior like Master Gilbert!
RIP Pat T.
What!?
You're kidding me..
When?
How?
God Bless him..
PG is awesome!!!
The best
One of the greatest ever
Paul Gilbert Guitar World
His string skipping is from another planet.

Truly a Master * Always been one of my favorites * it*s unlikely you will pull one over on * Gilbert * his Spreads and Speed are Dynamite
Beast!
哭了,去年有來喔,竟然沒跟到= =
Fn ridiculous, he's so awesome geez,I want his picking hand sooo baaaad!!!!@
Quiet. God is soloing!
nice
He has really been working on his blues playing the past few years. You can hear it
My God. Paul asks," you want everything?" Let me give you a powerpoint presentation of every shredder dream imaginable. I'll break it down, Throw delay and repeat loop to punch the points home. Are you learning anything? Just spellbound? I'm not done. People say he's matured but what if he's just slowed down enough out of kindness to let the layman understand. Everything has always been at his ridiculously stretched fingertips. He's a teacher first and foremost. This is God Tier Guitar tutoring to shred.
Mr Huge!!!!!
I like to play the guitar.
God, guitar God..
Hard soloskill and good sound !
I love how he doesn't really get hung up on boutique gear..plays off the shelf shit and makes it scream.
🎸💥💯🎸💥💯🎸
牛逼
YIKES
🎼🎼👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🎼
Sweet sounding paul,he also gave lessons when buckethead was young. And buckethead is great also!
HOW CAN YOU DO WHAT YOU DO ---------from the 1st Mr. Big disc, album or whatever you use to listen to music ( format ) is in the top 10 SONG sols of all time period.
2:27 Sounds like the Holy Wars solo!
Yeah it does
Could be because its chromatic
@@poison4822 yeah but the phrasing and toning is identical, then ends with the open E ring out
Maaannnntaaaappppppp😃😃😃
They don’t even need a singer. Gilbert & Sheehan are enough‼️🎸
That's what I call flat gettin'with It!
The first couple minutes had me worried... but then the real Paul returned.
Unbelievable ..
Too good for his own good that Paul guy...
Oh my God :(
He knows what he’s doing.
2:47 that wasnt an effect, the sound was simply trying to catch up with Paul's finger speed
Uooooo
One thing I noticed about Mr. Paul Gilbert is that he is now mellowing out with his song choices. The song at 4:50 is one of his quieter ones, Three Es for Edward - ua-cam.com/video/gboMGuNazRg/v-deo.html
Also his huge headphones are now gone, too.
Holy crap the finger reach he got on the fretboard is freakin insane yo dayum!
wouaw !!!! Il est de quelle planète ? : - ))) C'est un génie ce type .
Another monster guitar player
5:27, wait till the kid yells "woooah" hahaha
Jesus.!! No wonder Bri is a musical genius
God of Guitar plays Guitar. Gilbert...Gesus...Ghrist...
