Haven't bought one yet I was concerned about how to connect it but after your video it's on my Christmas list definitely now I'm wondering if it can be attached to a pedalboard and if so how 🤔
Yes Brook, I love the BB mini 2 too. It´s verry intresting to use it with a volume pedal. So it´s possible to bring a lot of rythmic dynamic into the groove. It´s lot of fun. Thanks for charing 🙂
Hey there, thank you so much for the review! We highly recommend plugging the BeatBuddy and BeatBuddy Mini 2 into a full-range speaker like a PA, bass amp, keyboard amp, acoustic/vocal amp etc. for the highest quality of sound. Plugging into a guitar amp can dampen the drum sounds with the guitar amp tone, and has a possibility of blowing out the amp if played too loud. Nice playing!
Why is it that everytime i start the drums of the bb mini 2 it always start with the drum fill? Can i start using the drums without the fill? Can i disable the fills once in a while?
If you could find like a kick snare kick snare pattern and put some slap back on it probably. I was not really that thrilled with the unit and sold it.
The one I settled on is ZOOM RT 123. Nice and cheap, loaded with presets (some which are very usable to jam along with). Those drum presets have an option where it plays a bass riff which can be perfect for jamming on a few patches. Programming songs and beats is not a nightmare though I have fell out of practice with that habit. If you want something to jam with, for the price this is a winner. Hopefully you find one with a manual. The sounds are not the most cringe thing ever ha ha! Drum machines are odd concepts. I guess most people program drums with software now. I like to play real drums! I can keep a simple beat, so I record most of my own backing tracks with real drums. Just rambling. Let me know if you find one and if you like it.
This review is awesome, it’s unrehearsed and raw. Honest review by a real world player, thanks!! Metal didn’t work for me…at all yikes 😳 I can only handle Primitive 4 on the Floor ( not a listed genre) so I’ve disabled intro for now. I’m using Polka, Serbian, Ska and Rock, these seem to be easiest for me so far to follow. Trying to keep it simple before I put it away for another 6 months. I liked your reggae demo, close to what I’m floundering around with here. I found a lot of this Beat Buddy way too busy with crashes and fills. I might have to fire the drummer…
I run the BB straight to its own input on the amp. My guitar is through the pedal board on another input on the amp. One amp as long as it has more than one input/channel. If your amp only has one input, you can put a splitter.
Hello, this pedal was just here for a couple of days then I had to send it back so I don't remember! A power source would be my first choice. Good luck!
You're the only person I've seen to explain how you set your beatbuddy up everyone else I've seen just starts playing
Well thanks! Do you like yours?

I bet that is a possibility to connect to pedal board. I had not through of that!

Wow that sounds pretty cool to add volume control.

Hello! I did not really do a deep dive into the machine. When I had one to test it was quite a while back. Sorry I don't know much else.
Anything on there usable for rockabilly?

I may try a Moorer drummer X2
Are there any other drum machines/pedals you like and would recommend?

Simple is best for me most of the time. You should take up drum lessons too. It's really good for the brain and you'll understand timing so clearly.
Love blues so much ! Good review Brook.🇫🇷👍🏼🍒
It is cool! Thanks Cerise!
Thanks for the demo. Is it my computer speakers or does it sound like a cheesy Casio keyboard? Is this gig worthy?
I honestly did not think it was very cool. I'd skip it. The beats were not really usable for anything or inspiring to me.
Do you need 2amps for this operation? One for the guitar and the drums pedal? Thanks
I don't think so. I actually forgot! The pedal is long gone. Sorry.
I run the BB straight to its own input on the amp. My guitar is through the pedal board on another input on the amp. One amp as long as it has more than one input/channel. If your amp only has one input, you can put a splitter.
The pedal works with batteries?

Thank you
Hey there, you can easily use an external battery pack with the BeatBuddy, but the BeatBuddy Mini 2 does not have a place for internal batteries.
Thank you!
You are so welcome!
I wanted this until I watched this video.
I did not like it much
for better results put in stereo speakers not in mono hahahaha
I would have never thought of that.
