- Rue's Farewell from the great score the Hunger Games composed by maestro James Newton. I really love this score. It's just so magical and sad at the same time. Besides that it is very original. Just a fantastic theme once again. Therefore James Newton Howard is my number 1 composer. I noticed a funny thing today while I was playing the piano. I saw that around 85% of the sheets that are on my acoustic piano banner are from James Newton Howard :P
This Rue Farewell piece was a little bit tricky to transcribe as somethings are hard to hear. So I discussed this piece with my music teacher and cunarder28. And now I am very satisfied with the end result. So thanks! And I hope you enjoy it too :-)

a dear friend of mine died march 28th 2012. i saw this movie a couple of months ago for the first time. i cried like crazy because i thought it was so said for rue, but the music made me think about my friend lara too. i miss her so much, and i'm going to learn this and play this in my music class dedicated to her.

This is absolutely the best piano version I've heard of this piece yet.
I know that Danny Elfman was the first choice. But I didn't know that JNH expressed a great interest in this score. I am happy he did as I really love the score. Where have you read this about his great interest? Thanks for letting me know mate :)

Guess what?!! James Newton Howard is giving a concert!! And I have seen it quicker than you this time ;-) I just discovered this!!! He is going to be at the 12th world award soundtrack in Ghent!! So I will be there =D A dream will become true. Last year I have seen Hans Zimmer. This year it is going to be even better!! I hope they will keep a meet & greet again. Yes! That's indeed a great thing. But don't expect a true concert. These are the world soundtrack awards. So we will hear 10-15 minutes of pure greatness. It will be different than in Dallas. Just wanted to let you know that!! I really hope to see the true maestro in real life!! Can't wait for that!!! I only have to travel 3 hours ^_^ So I am lucky but again if hey gave the concert in Dallas again I would go =D

Hey mate! I guess you really like it if it brought tears to your eyes. JNH can crawl deep into your skin indeed. I like this piece too on the piano. But I have to admit that the Chariots & Horn of plenty sounds even better. I mean I was really suprised by the outcome. But i don't master that piece to make a piano video of it yet :S Of course I'll do my best =D You have seen JNH in real life, I am so jealous :P Is there a DVD of his concert somewhere? Cheers!

I'm sure you're best will be amazing. Yeah I love those pieces too, really powerful and grand and epic. Yeah I have yeah, and I'm constantly looking for anymore concerts that he might do in the future, and will definitely tell you. I've been looking everywhere for videos of his concert, but can't find it. Maybe after they have finished the Masters of Film Music concert series this year, they will release some sort of concert footage.
