I love how so many people talk badly about cgi because they think it is only used for big robot fights or space battles when most of the time it is used for the little things like a logo or some cars on the highway.
And not only that but it is also used for creating stunts that otherwise would be too dangerous or impossible to do as well for creating locations that would be too costly, too dangerous or impossible to film at. I personally love CGI, as long as it looks convincing and realistic and it`s to help tell the story and it isn`t excessive and used when and where something can be done for real or with practical effects.
I’m just totally in awe of the details that go into every scene and if you blink you miss it, buying the film gives you the pleasure of freezing the frame and studying it....and I certainly love these video shorts of how they make it.....Oscars for every single one of the workers of CGI & VFX.....and the story board 🏆👍🏼🍻😊
well im pre sure when i went to new york last year, i saw all their monument and all, pre sure i saw iron man fly pass above us too.. and everyone was cheering... lol have i missed something?
Back when Marvel actually treated the source material with RESPECT, oh well, those days are gone, in any event, this work will forever remain INCREDIBLE!!!..
This is an Audi R8, therefore a product placement. Seems to me like they provided the movie crew with a prototype model of the R8 for the shoot and a few months before the release of the movie, Audi had a slightly different version of the R8 on their hands. They probably spent 10 million dollars on this product placement so they sure as hell wanted an accurate representation of their revised R8 in the movie. They most likely dropped $100K for the VFX, or maybe it was part of the original contract. Who knows. Just movie things.
Yeah, Audi wants product placement of their newest model, so it had to be changed because they could not get the newest model at the time they shot the scene.
This movie was released in 2015. The R8 Tony is driving is a 2016 model which means at the time of the movie's filming (2014) the 2016 Audi R8 would still be in it's prototyping stage and probably wasn't even revealed to the world yet nor would they have any working model that could be used for filming. So to keep everything simple, which means avoid the use and possible damage of a limited 2nd gen R8 prototype on set, avoid spy shots of the upcoming car from leaking, and keep the Audi sponsorship, the best option is to recreate the 2016 R8 model in 3d space and add it in post.
@@FelixIvanov- well they could just paint it over like in photoshop, its a brief shot, would be about 8 frames or more. This have been done many times in Hollywood when certain things reflect the camera and crews. For example Revenge of the sith, in the final shot when c3po gets his mind wiped
4:45 If I had a nickel for every time DNEG worked on a sequence where a train runs on concrete, I would have 2 nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice
Having done this so many times at that level, they probably use motion control systems on half of the shots. Interns track and roto the other half before the CGI Artists start their work.

2:11 god this is an epic breakdown
Yesss
Now I'm left wondering how they make these breakdown videos
Guess we'll need a breakdown video...of a breakdown video
There are layers of videos, most breakdowns show the layers from the back to the front. Of course playing with the transition for fun in encouraged.
I wonder, how many people are to make sequences like these, and what is the working time for this sort of scene?
wait.. so the avangers are not real? omg!

They should have kept Quicksilver he's such a cool character..

Quick silver rights is on fox studios..
Marvel have bargain for this movie..
Don’t forget he “kicks ass” hehehehe....
Was it really necessary to change the Audi?
I assume that it cost less to CGI changes to the car compared to actually modifying the actual car. Still seems unnecessary.
You would see camera in it, look at the shot.
Well..
Yeh
The car was a prototype so once the actual car was released they added the finishing touches to make it look like the release model
