I loved the beginning. I am petite only 5ft and was someone who worked out 6days a week and ran marathons, full and half for several years and always ate very healthy was planning on running my first 50km when I turned 50 and shortly before my 50th bday I was diagnosed with high blood pressure and stage 3 chronic kidney disease. I was in shock and disbelief as my outward appearance looked healthy but my inside was completely different. I went on medication to control my blood pressure, changed my diet to a low salt, low fat diet plan which is hard for a runner and had to stop running which has been extremely difficult for me as running was my escape. It has been 5 years since I was diagnosed and I finally have the blood pressure under control and have reversed the kidney disease to stage 2 which is good. Stage 5 is the last stage and you don’t want to be there. I am now feeling hopeful I can try getting back to running and I like your idea of starting back slowly and working back up, so thanks for sharing. I still have this dream of completing a 50km run and may try for Dec 2022 when I turn 55, but will need to train smart, and if my body won’t let me then I will have to be okay with a smaller run. Thank you so much for your videos they always lift me up and are very inspiring.

My family is known for medical issues like diabetes, high blood pressure, dietary restrictions, weight gain etc. My doctor said I was too fat 135 pounds. Recommend me to change my diet and exercise a lot more. Which I was active walking twice a day, while riding a bike for hours. I still didn’t have the right balance. I had to teach myself the right meals and portions to each. Especially adding protein in my diet. I love eating more fruits and mix vegetables. Enjoy them more natural than cooking them down. I definitely still dislike the taste of healthy stuff but I’m trying to improve. Also drink plenty of water less soda for me. Dark soda breaks me out so badly! Does this affect other people too? I can’t eat dairy products either. I don’t think dairy is all that good for you anyways. This is my personal opinion. It’s different for everyone. Stay healthy & happy people don’t forget to eat and sleep right. 😊
When I was 13, I was told I was pre diabetic and then I dieted when I was 14 even harder and it led to years of unhealthy dieting. To this day idk If their diagnosis was correct or simply preventative. Either way, I rather be safe than sorry. While I don’t care about my aesthetics or my size in terms of beauty, I do care how it might affect my health in the long run (I’ve seen the effects in my family) so I’m just being mindful! Not dieting, not taking extreme measures, just trying to be more intentional :) Sending you love, hope you are able to find your own path to whatever health looks like for you! I never got into running. I tried a few different times but I never got into it haha I just learned that I would rather do the stairmaster or bike (gym or outside) or skate. Proud of you though!!! 💕
I so relate to you saying that size or weight is not an indicator for health… when I started teaching yoga as my passion, people said that I am too fat to be a yoga teacher… I’ve been teaching for 7 years, my body/ weight hasn’t really changed but I feel healthy and most of my routine doctor reports are normal… health does not necessarily mean being thin or muscular…. I also found some really inspiring content in the book Ikigai… please read it if you haven’t….
Yes exactly! Size is not the only or main indicator of health. Mostly it’s not an indicator at all! Plenty of larger folx are living their healthiest lives. Keep doing you, and thanks for the Rec 🥰

You could try and going to Nike or cvs and get an evaluation of your feet to see where you most impact when you run 🏃♀️ If that makes sense. Drink lots and lots of water that can be the best thing for you instead of adding supplements:)

I noticed the zero app your boyfriend David set up on my phone has help my Diabetic control plus exercise 30 minutes and cutting down on tortillas bread basically anything white is not good for us sugar is the next big killer next to cancer to our systems. yes, I've done that before! That's why I have the running shoes I do :p yes definitely will drink more water but supplements are good too!
