Hybrid. This allows you access to coworkers and potential decision makers within your company..if you are wanting to advance, I would choose this option.
I'm 29 and the only reason why I don't live with my parents is because I started school again and it's in person. Otherwise, I would have definitely moved back in and saved that coin. It's such a privilege to have parents that can even accommodate us in that way, so I'm definitely grateful for that open invitation. My suggestion is to really pray on it! I totally understand the mental aspect you mentioned because that was a concern for me as well--I've been living on my own since 22. I definitely look back now and see that I could have been a bit further in my goals if I had made the sacrifice of living with them for a little while. I hope this works out for you

I got a WFH job during the pandemic also, and I loved being home and being in my own space. I really needed that separation of personal life/work life, so when we got that email, I chose to go into the office a few times a week but still working from home when I need to. Do whatever you feel is best for your mental health, don’t ever sacrifice yourself to please others ❤️

@@SelenaTrevino I think that is what made me decide to go into the office was my team lead then, who is now my supervisor, is my age, so I would chat with her and now it’s a nice friendship that we have. If that was not the case, I would most definitely be at home full time. Majority of my office is remote because we don’t need to be in the office, unless of course home internet is an issue.
We are required to work two days from office and the rest depends on a person. In addition one of those two required days is called “team day” and basically everybody from the team you are working with must be in the office that day so that helps to catch up and build relationships. Also within our team we have a excel spredsheet office tracker where people write which days they are going to go to the office so that you can check who else is going to be there. So I always go the days where my favorite colleagues are there as well. I think it is ver helpful like this. Maybe you could ask if sometimes like that would be possible for your team. 💕💕💕

Selena, I would continue to follow your channel no matter what! I love all your content! That said, you should definitely follow your heart and your gut. I'm one of those subscribers who is a bit older and established in my career, and I have found that no job is worth it if it doesn't give you the life you want. A job is a means to an end, not an end in itself. Think about your ultimate goals, what you want to accomplish in life. If living near your family is one of your goals (as it has always been one of mine, which is why I have never left the Seattle area - go PNW ladies!), then you should consider moving back. Also consider that continuing to work from home full time could give you the flexibility to visit home more often and work from there. Follow your heart, listen to your gut, and do what's best for you! Your subscribers will enjoy your journey, wherever it takes you!

I know that im late and you’ve made your work schedule decision already. so I got two job offers and I am so grateful to have these opportunities. Job #1 is sort of my dream job and it will lead me towards the direction I want to get in my profession. Its work from the office and less pay. Job #2 is wfh and pays more but not exactly what I want to do. So with the cost of living increasing and what not. I was in a pickle trying to decide what job to take. I made my pro/con list for both jobs, talked to my husband, my family and prayed and decided to stick to job #1 because at the end of the day. I want to love what I do because it will be good for my mental health. Hearing you talk so passionately about your job also inspired me. Thanks for sharing 💜

I was so excited to work from home during the pandemic and it was amazing. We are now back in the office but they allow us to work from home 2x a week on set days. I wfh on Wednesday and Friday. I didn’t mind going back in the office but now that’s it’s been about two months of it, I wish I worked from home 100% lol. Both options has its pros and cons so do what works best for you. Getting dressed and the commute can really take time away from your day. With your UA-cam, it may be beneficial to wfh 100% for the flexibility.
Yes I think once we’ve become accustomed to WFH, Going into the office seems like a drag now since the commute and getting ready just takes unnecessary time 😅 I’m def thinking remote work in DC or oregon ☺️
Hi. Currently im working from home, state employee, but once it opens back up I'm doing twice a month, essentially once a pay period. Unfortunately. Full time telework wasn't an option😪 but thats better than nothing!!! 🤷♀️
Yes that is better than nothing! I truly don’t get the point of 1 day per pay period unless everyone comes in the same day and there’s a meeting, personally lol but anyway I’m happy you atleast have the option to still telepwork💗
First off, I love your videos. I always want to do something productive after watching them, so my ADHD thanks you for your help getting chores done. Second, the advice from what I've learned in my 30 years on the planet: so much of life changes in the second half of your twenties. It's the real transition period from adolescence into adulthood, and the further you get into it, the harder it can be to uproot your life. Of course, you still have plenty of time to decide where you want to be, if you're uncertain! But if know you want to be on the West Coast, I think it will be easier to move in the next 1-2 years than it would be when you're 29-30. That said, there's really no wrong answer here, so try not to put too much pressure on yourself to make the "right decision."
To me it sounds like you're definitely leaning towards moving and with the option of remote work it's a great opportunity. It's always great to be around family and have those special experiences and moments with them. I'd still watch your content regardless. It seems like there's more pros to moving than cons and like you said you could always get your own apartment once you're there. You should do what you think is best. I think it's awesome that your company is giving you that option! I wish I had that choice.
yes I feel blessed to even have the option to think about this! I'm definitely leaning more towards it since I've also wanted to start saving up for a car and that would help out a lot - but there are still so many changin variables, and nothing is set in stone
As for the remote work, I think remote work offers so much flexibility if that's an option for you! As long as your mental health is good being at home, then you can hop around city to city for however long! haha
I work for Medicare and I'm in South Florida Covid is crazy and were working from home now almost a year at this point I doubt we're going back until maybe next year. Write down the pros and cons of both if the pros outweigh the cons of moving back home do it ..

Hi Selena 🤍 I would say primarily, of course, I pray that God blessed you with discernment to chose what’s best for you and where you see yourself in the future. As someone who transitioned from WFH to in person work and hearing your out take on each option, I think 100% hybrid would be an amazing choice for you. I enjoyed the flexibility of the WFH set up. You can move, travel, adventure, and so much more by working virtually and I would love to see you reach all of the goals you stated you have by moving elsewhere, especially back home in Oregon. I’m also an advocate of living with parents where the opportunity is present, definitely takes less stress off of our pockets and our parents! Great vlog ☺️

I also got my current job during the pandemic working remotely and so far I love it. I am a little scared that things change when I go to the office (changing the dynamics), but at the same time I miss socializing, and I really want to leave the house a little more. So I decided for the hybrid option, going to the office once a week. A little anxious about it but hoping for the best! If I was considering moving states, like you are, I would definitely choose WFH permanently. Btw, I enjoy your content and will keep watching it doesn't matter where you live or work :)
Yay twins! Haha it’s definitely a whole different challenge when beginning a job during the pandemic 😅 also yes I definitely agree with the whole dynamic thing! And since I’m in the government I truly think 90 % of my team, If not 100, will choose to go fully remote! Even our supervisores will likely do so.

Wow, I get what this decision is so hard. So many benefits and a few cons for each. Especially at the start of your career. I get it. I would say being that you are in your 20s do the thing that will save you the most money for your future and honestly the freedom to do a lot of fun things now. That is where life is. If you move in with your parents set goals and timelines, that will ensure you don’t stay longer than you should. Which I don’t think you will have a problem with since you already know what its like to do it on your own and it looks like you’ve done good already! Good luck! I’m so excited for you!

First time commenting. 😊 I’ve been working in the DMV area since moving here for grad school in 2014. I love the area but am currently working with my workplace to allow me to move out of state down the road too! Take advantage of the culture change re: telework and move where your heart pulls ya!

Hi Selena. Love your videos. I have been working from home for 6 years. I have never been to the office. I think if you have the option to go in at least once a pay period, it would be nice. You can socialize with your peers. Go to lunch with them and etc. Even though I love working from home, I incredibly under socialized. One the reasons why I watch your work from home vlogs, it's like having a coworker to listen to lol.
I would live to but from what I’ve heard about my teams work culture, they don’t tend to socialize or do much together to begin with! Which is why I’m leaning more towards remote 😅

Did I accomplish everything I wanted to while living in dc? Am I satisfied? If I move back will I have any regrets? Coming from a girl who moved from Cali to Maryland I totally understand missing family. There is nothing like family love and it sucks missing out on family/friend events. You only live once 😄 One day I’ll move back but for now I’m enjoying traveling to New York, Virginia and all those memorable places that are on this coastline.

I’ve been paying rent since I was 17 and wish I would have done that more when I was younger LOL I’m 30 now (I live in Ca) and the thing about moving when you start to get older and your career is finally stable is you think about it more…well I do lol move around as much as you can before the big 30 is always my advice 🤣 good luck!

For me WFH has been lifechanging, all my office experiences have been toxic so I would stay home for sure, unless I knew I liked it there. As far as moving, you definitely gave way more reasons to move back than to stay! You could always move back to DC in the future, but you can't put a price on being close to family. Logistic things to consider might be things like- will they let you live out of state? Sometimes because of taxes they pay on employees and health insurance while you are remote you still have to be local. Will your network change for your health benefits, like will it cover providers in Oregon? Will your tax situation change? Have you ever watched Kristee Vetter? She is from Bend, OR and lived in DC for a long time and is now in NYC. She's talked a lot about the back and forth before and where to be. Just thought I'd share, her channel maybe be helpful to watch or reach out to since she's been in a similar situation!
Yes I can move out of state, what changes is my pay, it changes based on where you live bc of cost-of living differences, but in portland it will still be around the same! have not watched her but I will now, thank you
Hahaha I have a perfect social life right now because I’m only social when I have the mental space and emotional capacity for it, vs. being forced into social interactions - if that makes sense! Haha I’m an INFJ so it fits we with WFH ☺️
If your heart tells you to be with your family, then do it. But, I would say experience a new place for awhile before heading back home since you are still young and don't have kids yet. Best of luck with your journey!
Do telework. I work full time in the office & still vlog day in the life videos. It’ll increase your watch time & avg view duration. Just be cautious abt company branding in your video so that your viewers focus on your niche & not your company. Plus, being in the office sometimes helps make work easier bc you learn resources & the go-to’s in the office. You’ll be surprised how many people do hybrid to stay sane. Make connections in both places. Your viewers follow YOU! Location only lets them learn more about you.

I personally would pick working from home permanently, however, make sure you consider the time that you may have to wake up for work respective to your team that you work with. That is if you work with a team. Also, you may not need to move to Portland specifically. Have you considered the fact that you could save money moving somewhere on the west coast that is close to Oregon, but not actually in Portland? Honestly, whatever makes you happy in the end. I know it sounds cliche, but that's what really matters the most. Whatever you decide, I'll still be here, God willing. I really enjoy your content and you being in DC has nothing to do with that.

I dont think people subsribe to you because you live in DC. I think people subsribe because they enjoy your content and I do not think much would change if you moved. I understand that you dont want to stay i DC to raise a family but I think you are still super young (of course I do not know how soon you want to have kids) but I feel when person is young they should experience a life in a big city and all the opportunities and just enjoy the city life if that makes sense. But of course our cities here are much much much smaller than inthe US so what do I know haha

I was so excited to work from home during the pandemic and it was amazing. We are now back in the office but they allow us to work from home 2x a week on set days. I wfh on Wednesday and Friday. I didn’t mind going back in the office but now that’s it’s been about two months of it, I wish I worked from home 100% lol. Both options has its pros and cons so do what works best for you. Getting dressed and the commute can really take time away from your day. With your UA-cam, it may be beneficial to wfh 100% for the flexibility.
Yes I think once we’ve become accustomed to WFH, Going into the office seems like a drag now since the commute and getting ready just takes unnecessary time 😅 I’m def thinking remote work in DC or oregon ☺️

Hi. Currently im working from home, state employee, but once it opens back up I'm doing twice a month, essentially once a pay period. Unfortunately. Full time telework wasn't an option😪 but thats better than nothing!!! 🤷♀️
Yes that is better than nothing! I truly don’t get the point of 1 day per pay period unless everyone comes in the same day and there’s a meeting, personally lol but anyway I’m happy you atleast have the option to still telepwork💗

First off, I love your videos. I always want to do something productive after watching them, so my ADHD thanks you for your help getting chores done.
Second, the advice from what I've learned in my 30 years on the planet: so much of life changes in the second half of your twenties. It's the real transition period from adolescence into adulthood, and the further you get into it, the harder it can be to uproot your life. Of course, you still have plenty of time to decide where you want to be, if you're uncertain! But if know you want to be on the West Coast, I think it will be easier to move in the next 1-2 years than it would be when you're 29-30.
That said, there's really no wrong answer here, so try not to put too much pressure on yourself to make the "right decision."

To me it sounds like you're definitely leaning towards moving and with the option of remote work it's a great opportunity. It's always great to be around family and have those special experiences and moments with them. I'd still watch your content regardless. It seems like there's more pros to moving than cons and like you said you could always get your own apartment once you're there. You should do what you think is best. I think it's awesome that your company is giving you that option! I wish I had that choice.
yes I feel blessed to even have the option to think about this! I'm definitely leaning more towards it since I've also wanted to start saving up for a car and that would help out a lot - but there are still so many changin variables, and nothing is set in stone

As for the remote work, I think remote work offers so much flexibility if that's an option for you! As long as your mental health is good being at home, then you can hop around city to city for however long! haha

I work for Medicare and I'm in South Florida Covid is crazy and were working from home now almost a year at this point I doubt we're going back until maybe next year. Write down the pros and cons of both if the pros outweigh the cons of moving back home do it ..

Hi Selena 🤍 I would say primarily, of course, I pray that God blessed you with discernment to chose what’s best for you and where you see yourself in the future. As someone who transitioned from WFH to in person work and hearing your out take on each option, I think 100% hybrid would be an amazing choice for you. I enjoyed the flexibility of the WFH set up. You can move, travel, adventure, and so much more by working virtually and I would love to see you reach all of the goals you stated you have by moving elsewhere, especially back home in Oregon. I’m also an advocate of living with parents where the opportunity is present, definitely takes less stress off of our pockets and our parents! Great vlog ☺️

I also got my current job during the pandemic working remotely and so far I love it. I am a little scared that things change when I go to the office (changing the dynamics), but at the same time I miss socializing, and I really want to leave the house a little more. So I decided for the hybrid option, going to the office once a week. A little anxious about it but hoping for the best! If I was considering moving states, like you are, I would definitely choose WFH permanently. Btw, I enjoy your content and will keep watching it doesn't matter where you live or work :)

And since I’m in the government I truly think 90 % of my team, If not 100, will choose to go fully remote! Even our supervisores will likely do so.

It all depends, theres so many variables involved, including work plans not being set in stone. David will support whatever decision I make :)
Wow, I get what this decision is so hard. So many benefits and a few cons for each. Especially at the start of your career. I get it. I would say being that you are in your 20s do the thing that will save you the most money for your future and honestly the freedom to do a lot of fun things now. That is where life is. If you move in with your parents set goals and timelines, that will ensure you don’t stay longer than you should. Which I don’t think you will have a problem with since you already know what its like to do it on your own and it looks like you’ve done good already! Good luck! I’m so excited for you!

Hi Selena. Love your videos. I have been working from home for 6 years. I have never been to the office. I think if you have the option to go in at least once a pay period, it would be nice. You can socialize with your peers. Go to lunch with them and etc. Even though I love working from home, I incredibly under socialized. One the reasons why I watch your work from home vlogs, it's like having a coworker to listen to lol.
I would live to but from what I’ve heard about my teams work culture, they don’t tend to socialize or do much together to begin with! Which is why I’m leaning more towards remote 😅

You only live once 😄 One day I’ll move back but for now I’m enjoying traveling to New York, Virginia and all those memorable places that are on this coastline.

Hi! I think all your options are great! Moving back with your parents to save money would be soooo great! I’ve been paying rent since I was 17 and wish I would have done that more when I was younger LOL I’m 30 now (I live in Ca) and the thing about moving when you start to get older and your career is finally stable is you think about it more…well I do lol move around as much as you can before the big 30 is always my advice 🤣 good luck!

For me WFH has been lifechanging, all my office experiences have been toxic so I would stay home for sure, unless I knew I liked it there. As far as moving, you definitely gave way more reasons to move back than to stay! You could always move back to DC in the future, but you can't put a price on being close to family. Logistic things to consider might be things like- will they let you live out of state? Sometimes because of taxes they pay on employees and health insurance while you are remote you still have to be local. Will your network change for your health benefits, like will it cover providers in Oregon? Will your tax situation change?
Have you ever watched Kristee Vetter? She is from Bend, OR and lived in DC for a long time and is now in NYC. She's talked a lot about the back and forth before and where to be. Just thought I'd share, her channel maybe be helpful to watch or reach out to since she's been in a similar situation!
Yes I can move out of state, what changes is my pay, it changes based on where you live bc of cost-of living differences, but in portland it will still be around the same! have not watched her but I will now, thank you

Do telework. I work full time in the office & still vlog day in the life videos. It’ll increase your watch time & avg view duration. Just be cautious abt company branding in your video so that your viewers focus on your niche & not your company.
Plus, being in the office sometimes helps make work easier bc you learn resources & the go-to’s in the office. You’ll be surprised how many people do hybrid to stay sane.
Make connections in both places. Your viewers follow YOU! Location only lets them learn more about you.

I personally would pick working from home permanently, however, make sure you consider the time that you may have to wake up for work respective to your team that you work with. That is if you work with a team.
Also, you may not need to move to Portland specifically. Have you considered the fact that you could save money moving somewhere on the west coast that is close to Oregon, but not actually in Portland? Honestly, whatever makes you happy in the end. I know it sounds cliche, but that's what really matters the most. Whatever you decide, I'll still be here, God willing. I really enjoy your content and you being in DC has nothing to do with that.

I dont think people subsribe to you because you live in DC. I think people subsribe because they enjoy your content and I do not think much would change if you moved. I understand that you dont want to stay i DC to raise a family but I think you are still super young (of course I do not know how soon you want to have kids) but I feel when person is young they should experience a life in a big city and all the opportunities and just enjoy the city life if that makes sense. But of course our cities here are much much much smaller than inthe US so what do I know haha
