Here because even though I wasn’t wear much makeup to begin with, I want to stop all of it including fake lashes, mascara, etc.I am trying to love myself for who I really am, and I want people to see who I really am whether they think I’m beautiful or not.I want to feel beautiful. I’m learning about my skin and even my hair.I always thought I had fine and straight hair but turns out I have thick hair and it’s a little bit wavy.I also just take care of my natural nails.
I hope I can’t be confident like you! You like beautiful without makeup❤

You're BEAUTIFUL My Young Sister!!! This is coming from a 52-year-old!!! I took this journey of ceasing to wear makeup back in 2020. I thought that I needed it...and sometimes, I still struggle with it. Take care of your skin and love yourself!!! And don't look to anyone outside of yourself...not even social media and its ideals of beauty standards!!! Be BLESSED!!!👑💜⚘️

You're speaking nothing but the truth! I was consistently critiqued for not "wearing makeup" or "braids" as well. However, I LOVE my natural beauty. It's what God gave me! So, I'm so proud of you for speaking on such a sensitive topic that affects the Black Community. We can sometimes be our own worst enemies. The most racist, anti-black treatment is when we hide ourselves. #EmbraceNaturalBeauty! God Bless!

I’m cutting it off for a moment, I need to save money. I’m watching this kinds of videos to keep me on track. I would have a house by now with the money I spent on make up, hair, clothes etc. is harder for me to break from it because I express myself with it, is kinda making me depressed I can’t offered to create new looks but I need to save money. Thanks for putting this out, it encouraged me to keep going with my natural beauty ❤️.

I don’t wear makeup, nails, or lashes. But I must say, I do wear wigs, though. My hairdresser, who I have been going to for years, messed up my hair. It has gotten so short and super thin. 😡😢 I am in disbelief. And I am bitterly disappointed in him too. And I’m not the only one this has happened to.

What is your hair type? It’s good to find shampoos in that range to properly care for it. Oil it with coconut oil or Jamaican black castor oil. Use a microfiber hair towel & don’t use extremely hot water on it. Don’t blow dry it with hot air either, your hair type matters a lot so you adjust this to it.

So sorry to hear this. I’ve started over so many times. Learned a lot along the way. If you can, please keep loose corn rows underneath and avoid glue. Just one you can put on and offx ❤️❤️❤️

How did y’all not know the plan? You think you can put glue on your hair and it won’t come out? I’m just glad the lady doing this video can admit what we already knew…… wigs, lashes and excessive makeup is a symptom of low self esteem🙄 I’ve never seen so many bald headed women in my lifetime. What gives? 🙅🏿

you don't have to feel ashamed for wearing wigs or not wearing wigs. you don't have to prove anything whether you were makeup/lashes/nails/wigs or not. do what YOU want to do. you don't have to prove any kind of virtue, honestly.

@@ann6878 Maybe it’s 4A or 4B. I thank you so much for giving me some tips. I’m going to try doing all of that. And get back to you in a month or two. I apologize for not responding sooner. But I have been grieving the loss of my two middle children. 😭 Thank you again. And God bless you.

I don't think ever woman who wears makeup and has her hair styled is insecure. What's the difference between that and working out to get toned? You don't bounce out of the womb looking buffed! Since feeling confident is an inside job, I fail to see what wearing makeup or not is going to change that. I've noticed a lot of elderly women in my area who have stopped coloring their hair and wearing makeup and they look like their own Grandma. If that was the goal, so be it. Just don't criticize those of us who like to put a little effort into looking good.

this is exactly my point. they preach this self hatred thing as though every girl who likes to look a certain way hates herself. it's a form of misogyny if you ask me. this "im more free/my way is superior because i don't wear makeup/lashes/wigs/nails." i think it's weird af. yes, there's a difference between being styled up and being natural, and each is your own choice and no one else's. cleopatra, queen of eygpt, wore makeup AND wigs. was she insecure ? hardly, lmfao. or did she just understand the power of appearance

It's a journey of many steps. We pray God completes the work He has begun in her. Her sharing may encourage someone starting out on their journey as well.
I too am on a journey, far from perfect. I still wear pants and light makeup. Stopped doing nails, never wore lashes or wigs. I have sisterlocs after having loose natural hair for many years, braiding intermittently. I try to dress modestly and not expose my skin or shape. I now am more convicted and want to stop wearing pants and tight or short skirt (skirt should go down past your calf).
There's a whole lot in this walk and we're at different steps on our journey.
I have young adult daughters and I failed to instill in them true modesty and how God wants us to present outwardly. Yes the inside is important and how we live, but God also does care about our outward appearance. It's not easily accepted by many in the world we're living in today, even Christians. May God help us all.
