Great video ! I feel the same conviction. It also just confuses me as to why almost every black person expects every black girl to wear a wig. And if we don’t there’s a problem with us or that we’ll never get married, because the beauty of our natural hair is not beauty at all. It’s so sad! Our hair is our glory ! It’s part of God’s glorious creation that He placed on us. Imagine if every black girl wore their natural hair ? We would stand out like crazy ! If we love our hair we can grow it just as long as those from white heritage. I think it’s all mind programming and brainwashing, because certainly many years ago, no black woman thought to wear others hair on their head. But hey, God still loves us the same. It’s just odd from what I observed. I know my personal story to becoming a natural and I know it all started from insecurity, unsatisfactory, envy, and covetous feelings which are all not from the Spirit of God. As children of God we are already seated in Heaven in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:6) so essentially we should be living Heaven on Earth. The same way other people are consciously living Hell on Earth. Heaven on Earth looks like freedom and full knowledge of how we are in God. Feeling like you don’t need the external things, makes you free and more joyful because you are not bound to it. God bless you sis.
@@vaultofria yes I’m still a natural girl, but I won’t lie to you, it has not been easy. I get tempted but the Holy Spirit helps me stay on track and fills me with love.
Wigs were worn by black women in certain tribes but they were beaded made of animal fur, plant fibers, clay etc. It all depended on the tribe and the region. This idea that wigs were never worn by Africans. This idea that African women didn't use some form of extensions is not true. They would even use cut of hair from other people to make their braided styles longer.
@@thewordsmith5440 Thanks for sharing history but the question is why and where did the idea come from? I won't be surprised if those tribes used animal hair for spiritual reasons. Why have to ask ourselves, now that we are God conscious beyond culture conscious, why this is done and if God approves of it in our personal lives.
I’m a new subbie and God has been convicting me the same way for a while. I threw out my wigs this week and have been wearing my hair… and I feel so beautiful and free. I kept trying to do styles with weave but it was just not feeling right nor looking right to me. I had a style one day and took it out the next. My spirit was not settled.. but Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. ❤️
This was me I had a sew in ONCE in 2015 for prom and kept it in for a few weeks. I felt so gross and fake. So I just stuck to braids and twist. But it’s been a year without though either. I’m good off the weave. And I’m happy you chose to wear your natural hair. Why be someone else on your wedding day?
This video was right on time! Lately I’ve been struggling to love my natural hair ( I have 4c hair) I never straighten my hair and the way my shrinkage is set up- I’m always stuck not knowing how to style my hair. I think my biggest issue is not feeling like I look as pretty as I think I do when I do wear weave ( horrible ik) but then again I can’t stand wearing wigs I never glue them on it irritates my scalp wether I glue it or not I can never leave them on overnight. I usually throw one on or do braids when “ I don’t want to deal with my natural hair” which is often. I love my natural hair but girl this a process 😂 pray for me please because I know the more I wear my natural hair out the more I won’t be so dependent on weave. Anyways thanks for sharing girl ❤️❤️
Sis watch the below video, I watched her for 2 years, when I had the big chop. As your hair gets longer, it will get easier. ua-cam.com/play/PLSC7xXp2rWZy3EHSXEYCdt78zIpgktD7h.html
Yeah people gonna think what they want but I like my natural hair whether people compliment me or not. It's like my skin it's me. But girl thanks for sharing! I never did a wig but I have worn extensions for braids. Just seeing the time it takes to do a wig and glues scared me away but now with this info even more. I feel like the devil been trying to tempt me to try it so this testimony helped.
I am very glad that you posted this video, Kelsey! Thank you for sharing 🦋 It was right on time. I have sat in church, understanding why makeup and pants were condemned but in the same breath there seemed to be no decided rule on wigs and weaves, something that the Lord spoke to me about along with those things. If we were blessed with it, it glorifies GOD to love and (learn to) take care of our own hair in its natural beauty!
I understand. Right now I'm trying to transition and it has been 6 months. I wear wigs and weaves becacausr right now I'm transitioning and trying to grow my natural hair in. Any suggestions and ideas? I'm even wearing natural hair wigs and weaves
i think i watched the same video and there was another one where a lady wears hair wraps now for the same reason. i tried it for awhile and it did feel amazing it was like being covered by God fully. i never liked my natural hair b/c none of those styles work for me. so God has graced me to wearing just a synthetic ponytail straight to the back. my hair isn’t at the length i want it be in order to wear it out just yet. i think there are baby steps and everyone’s convictions are different. i appreciate this video and you letting the Lord use you.
@@Observer100-cn7gv That is what that is. BW say they (we) are the prototype… but how, when many do not feel confident in their natural hair? It’s a self-hate issue, and psychological destruction. I love my 4C. ❤
Hi,how do you know the people that made your clothes, purses, ECT aren't being sacrificed to any other Gods??? How do you know your vehicle wasn't sacrificed??? How do you know it's only wigs???
You are right . That’s why we have to pray for the spirit of discernment so we know what’s of God and what’s not of him . He will then reveal it to you . Daniel 2:22 “It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, And the light dwells with Him.
@@KelseyDavis1020 It is standard knowledge and commonsense regarding the source of wigs from natural hair and you even cited a reference. In the absence of any evidence to suggest that clothes, purses, vehicles are the product of self-sacrifice to the Gods, why imagine the ludicrous. In any event, wigs, as you so correctly stated, grow out of our heads and are quite distinguishable from such material things etc. By the way, I wear a wig but only on those very rare occasions and it must be synthetic. No wig, can Ever look better than my real hair, in any state. However, I do admire the skill and creativity the wig ladies display but not the self-loathing for our uniquely, beautiful black tresses. You made the right choice for your big day and looked quite elegant and lovely rocking your beautiful, natural locks. Congratulations on your wedding and best wishes.
Thank you so much , and that is a very good question . It’s up to the Holy Spirit, I personally have not felt any conviction regarding braids . I know that most braiding hair is synthetic and it’s not real , so that maybe a reason why he has not spoke to me about braids.
Synthetic isn't hair from people and getting greasy means people aren't washing their wig. Not uncomfortable for most, don't glue it down. Wigs are not salvational related ... BUT if the Lord told u fine
I think black women look so naturally beautiful

There is nothing wrong with short hair. The long hair programming is to make black people feel insecure in their natural beauty 😊
