“Lean on a gate and talk to a mate”
In the current time of uncertainty and weather stress it is important to talk it out with someone. It’s on us all to look out for each other.

you're right I think there are a lot of people, gardeners/farmers getting really fed up with all this rain. Easy to say but just need to hang in there, better weather will come.

It’s a sad memory but one that you hold close, he will be laughing at you all waiting so long to get it back in the ground but also proud of you all. I have a set of chef knives from my grandfather, never used just there if I want than so understand the sentiment. It’s good you have all the parts and can get back on the fields once more and maybe it’s right time to do so! I’m sure he is watching over you.

Thanks for the plough video, I'm sure uncles pleased it's back in the field being used again. That brings back a lot of memories for me to. My dad bought a new fully loaded 4 furrow reversible Kvernland in spring 1989 I remember coming home from school just as the mechanic was setting it up on our 4wd 1046 IH tractor. Dad usually did the ploughing at home, but I got to do a fair few hours contract work pulling that plough on a hired Lamborghini 105 while he was busy sowing with our IH .
We also had a flexicoil double furrow press on it mainly at home so that old 1046 was really pulling 5 furrows. Our local contractor had the same plough on a CIH 1255 opened to 1455 spec and he figured that wouldn't pull the plough and press together, well we did it with the smaller tractor and minimum 50 hp less L.O.L. She was a real good plough with that reset on the rock in Wales, it wouldn't be the first time I've seen all the trips go inline down the plough and not have to stop,Dad said it was scary the first time he saw it riding with the mechanic that set it up.
If I remember right the longer of the 2 plough spanners that ride on the headstock has 2 notches in it and it's the distance between the pins on the spring when the tensions right. Our plough was the first one to be at a ploughing demo in Pembrokeshire/ Wales on a brand new first gen JCB fastrac, the dealers we got the plough from borrowed it for that demo, so that was a pretty cool part of machinery history to watch as well. Take care

I would check the ecu on the 6480, we had a 64 series do the same type of thing we changed the injection pump, wiring harnesses, sensors and the ecu was the problem.

Great video. MF6480 is usually a great tractor… There must be a better way to make that plough turnover and also keep the depth wheel oriented backwards to hit the ground correctly? Keep up the good work.

Your ground seems very workable , I’ve no fertilizer or slurry out on silage or grazing as the land is just bogging no other word for it and I had been aiming to lift silage last week of may but can’t see it happening now! Hopefully the weather takes up soon so I can make a start on trying grow a bit of silage!
