Could someone explain what changing your gun targeting does? And what range would you recommend for gun targeting?

400 is usually pretty good

Basically its at which distance your guns will meet the sight
The further the guns from the center of the plane -- the more visible it gets

It changes at which range the guns converge into a single point. Only really useful for wingmounted guns, so I'd reccomend taking convergence a bit further than at which point you usually engage enemies. Ideally 600-800 or none at all.
