Mrs. White (Madeline Kahn) describes the intense hatred that drove her to murder Yvette (Colleen Camp).
FILM DESCRIPTION:
In this spoof of McCarthy-era paranoia and 1950s wholesomeness, the characters and plot are drawn from the popular Parker Brothers board game of the same name. On a dark and stormy night in 1954, six individuals with ties to Washington are assembled for a dinner party at the swanky mansion of one Mr. Boddy (Lee Ving). Boddy's butler, Wadsworth (Tim Curry), assigns each guest a colorful name: Mr. Green (Michael McKean), Col. Mustard (Martin Mull), Mrs. Peacock (Eileen Brennan), Professor Plum (Christopher Lloyd), Miss Scarlet (Lesley Ann Warren), and Mrs. White (Madeline Kahn). Two additional servants, the Cook (Kellye Nakahara) and Yvette, the maid (Colleen Camp), assist Wadsworth as he informs the guests that they have been gathered to meet the man who has been blackmailing them: Mr. Boddy. When Boddy turns up dead, however, the guests must try to figure out who killed him so they can protect their own reputations and keep the body count from growing. Three separate endings were filmed for Clue and shown in different theaters; all three are collected for the video edition. Although the film is set in the 1950s, the original Clue game was actually devised by Anthony Pratt, a clerk in Leeds, England, to pass the time during World War II air-raid drills. First released in 1946 under the name Cluedo by British manufacturer Waddington's, Clue was renamed and released in the U.S. in 1949. Today, Clue/Cluedo is marketed in 70 countries around the world and has been adapted into a British game show and an off-Broadway musical.

I love how it seems like she's going to do the big Poirot "murderer speech" and then she just comes out with the most idiotic justification for the murder you've ever heard. Brilliant film.

Tim Curry is just a joy to watch in this movie. He's so full of energy!

Madeline Khan in this film was the best. This one scene always gets me going. And if you look at the faces of everyone else they are trying so hard not to lose it.

Notice how they added an extra loud 'bang' noise that don't make sense, seeing how she fell softly to rump up the comedy. And it works well. So glad the camera kept moving, leaving her out of shot as Tim continued running.

So much slapstick comedy in this movie. Best one is Mr Green catching Wadsworth and then just throwing him on the floor.

A perfect performance by Madeline Kahn nevertheless.. How they managed to make a movie this good about a board game is beyond me...(and it's one of my favourite comedies).

Casts deserve some kind of special Oscar for being able to keep it together during brilliant improv monologues like Madeline Kahn’s truly classic one here.
Apparently, according to Tim Curry nobody kept it together for this scene at all. Everyone was practically on the floor which is why the editing gets a little... Choppy for lack of a better word as she keeps going. ;)
NOTHING ever embarrassed Madeline Kahn, or threw her off.

Love this movie! My only regret is that Wadsworth didn't allow Mrs. White to tell us even more about the flames on her face. She's wound so tight! FLAMES! Burning white flames scorching and melting and FLAMES all over...

ImJuniperNow I only know how to do it with a Mac, iTunes and Firefox.
Install Firefox. Play the clip in UA-cam. There's an "mp3" download link, click it. Find the file in Finder, get the info, change the extension to m4a. Open with iTunes and edit the clip to the segment of dialogue you want for the ringtone. Create an AAC version. Delete the file from iTunes, but not from your Mac. Go back to finder and change the extension to m4r. Open with iTunes and the clip will be in the ringtone section of your iTunes. (If you have Windows, I have no idea how to do it.)

I have yet to see a female actress come close to her since she left us. Truly one of kind and her style was so unique and just genuine. Madeline was always 'ON' even when she was just standing and doing "nothing" as it were.

Saw this movie in the theater when it first came out. I was 12 years old maybe. All the characters seemed incapable of murder, so I was convinced someone else had to be in the house. One of my favorite movies ever!
