    A dual charger may not be good if you use large packs because they may not be able to deliver all of their power to one channel. A 6S at 6000mAh would be 25.2V x 6A = 151.2W. For 2 packs at once you would need 300+ Watts total minimum. Although more expensive, 2 single chargers may be better than 1 dual. If one failed, you would also have a backup.

      Thanks, I try to keep it fresh with a variety of content on a variety of different brands and types of RC's. Review videos, how-tos, tips, driving footage, bashing, crawling, track footage, etc.!

    I have an AC/DC charger that I got from SMC (can't remember the name) that is 200 watts per channel. So I can charge 2 6s batteries at just under 8amps at the same time. Pretty much all I would ever need. Ultra Power also makes a dual 120 watt per channel AC/DC charger that is pretty good 👍

    thanks for the video. My favorite chargers are made by ISDT, Venom and icharger. I have used all of them but the one I like the most is the ISDT chargers as they are tiny and put out a lot of power. Did you ever check out the ISDT line? I have the ISDT Q6 plus and use it for my RC trucks and FPV quads and can use it at home and in the field as it is AC or DC and is 300 watts and will do 14 amps as long as you have the PSU for it.

      Hi Hows the ISDT going and which PSU do you use ?

    Thank you for this video. I've had the Onyx 245 for The Last 5 Years and it has served me well. When I have to put my batteries in storage mode after a good Bash, I have to watch the battery charger as it charges and then just unplug the battery once a 2's gets to 7.6 volts. If I need to discharge, I'll throw the battery in my 4x4 monster truck and go beat on it out in front of my house to kill the battery. Those are probably the two big drawbacks of that charger. I figure when it dies, I'll probably invest and something better

      You're welcome. I've also had the Onyx 245 for about 5 years and knew nothing about wattage or storage charge, etc. when I bought it. I wish someone had explained all that to me before I bought it, that's why I decided to make this video. Hope it helps some other new people to the hobby!

      @@RazorRC Same boat. No one explained storage charge or any of that to me either. If I knew then what I know now. Oh well. I'm sure this video will help somebody new to the Hobby and not make the same mistake that we did.

      What's the best way to "eye ball it"? After I'm done with the truck I was thinking charge it for an hour then take it off?

    • @NikkiNexo777
      @NikkiNexo777 3 роки тому

      @@MRdotMIND you need to charge a 2s battery to 7.6 Volts for storage charge, which is 3.8 volts per cell. Don't charge it for an hour and just guess. You need to keep an eye on the charger. When the battery gets to 7.6 volts, unplug it.

    No1 for me is accuracy: The charger should offer a Voltage calibration mode, it should be consistent and, preferably, accurate out of the box! Nobody wants to burn their house down...

    I’m new to lipo. If the lipo battery charges from the wire with white plug 4 prongs say. Why do lipo charges come with all these plugs. Ex. Deans, trx etc?

    • @RazorRC
      @RazorRC  3 роки тому +1

      I believe they use the main connector (Deans, TRX), etc. to do the bulk of the charging at higher amps, and then monitor/balance/finish with the small individual cells plug (the white plug) when it's almost done.
