I ordered mine and really did not expect much. But I was impressed with the unit. I've used it many times now. Good bargain. No over heating issues, errors, etc. Charges my batteries nicely. What a bargain. Later for the 200 buck chargers. Just get 2 of these and keep one as a backup if reliability is a concern for you, but I would not worry. I am very impressed with the quality of the connection adapter/dongle. Very well made unit. My unit also included a free little battery meter.
I just bought this charger before I found your video and found your video very helperful . I bought (2) LiPo batteries (2-cell 5200 mAh) and the charger for $85 on amazon to run my traxxas bandit (witch I paid $80 for the car and remote) so all together I am in this car for $160 not to bad huh
I had a few of those Imax ones before and liked them until I switched over to ISDT. My batteries used to show charged and when I would test them with a voltage meter they were never fully charged. That is what got me to spend a little more and get something of better quality. For people just starting out the 4 button chargers are ok but they are mostly clones of each other. HTRC makes some good stuff so the one you have is likely better then the Imax B6 clones. To me a good charger is a must have because batteries are so expensive in our hobby.
Hey Man, Great review. I've been trying to figure out which charger would work for what I need, and at a decent price. I saw 2 other people try to do a review on this same charger, but didn't really go over everything that you did, your review sold me on this unit. I will definitely be telling HTRC about your great review on this unit, so maybe they'll send more merchandise for you to review. I am now subscribed to your channel and hit the bell too. thanks again man
HTRC C-240 is a Dual charger for a few dollars more and can charge all your needs and can charge a lot higher in amps which is needed 2 amps for a 5000mah bat will take forever.
I just bought this charger 2 days ago. I am new to the hobby and all I had was a Traxxas EZ peak. I bought the B6 V2 because I wanted something portable as I went camping this weekend. It worked well off my F150 truck battery. I did notice that storage charging finishes at 3.8 per cell and the manual says it should be 3.85. I even had a cell at 3.78. I know for a fact my EZ peak stores at 3.85. I'm not sure what the range is for Lipo storage. I did mess with the resistance function and found it bit erratic. I measured the same battery 3 times within one minute so the temperature and state of charge was the same but the resistance readings for each cell always read different. Other than that I really like the charger and it didn't break the bank.
Hi Ron, for a lipo anywhere between 3.8 or 3.85 v/cell is totally fine, it doesn't have to be exact, you just want it somewhere around there so that it's about 50% charged when storing. Good on you for knowing to go into storage charge, most people don't know that!
The reason you can change the amps is because you can put a bigger power supply into it ( so you can charge batteries faster) For the viewers, balancing a battery balances the different cells in the battery so they charge even with each other - so they last longer. A 4s battery (4 different batteries basically duct taped together LOL) it makes sure all 4 of these batteries are at the same voltage. If it doesn't have this function, if you charge the highest battery in the pack will cut the charger, leaving a cell un-charged - or worse will charge to the lowest cell burning your house down.
@saaraswata It worked well but I returned it. The calibration was off 2-3% with battery % vs my Tenergy battery meter. Couldn't find how to recalibrate anywhere. End up getting a B6 Neo on sale at Aliexpress for $23 a couple weeks ago! Much better, cooler looking and smaller with an active fan 😎 Love it as I can charge via USB-C now
Hi, I am new to this field and have just bought this charger. I also have a 6S JST cable which I can use to charge 6 Lion batteries in series. I have a few questions, firstly is there a pin diagram somewhere which explains how to wire up the 6 batteries to this charger. Second I saw in your video that you had both the battery connector and balance charge connector connected same time to this charger, is this necessary or just connecting the JST connector will be enough. Lastly mine came without a power supply so I will need to go out and source one and I see in your video that they supplied a 15v 6A smps, should I also get one exactly the same because that makes it 90w and this unit is 80w max? Your Advise will be very helpful
Amazing - thanks for the tutorial! Do you know if it shuts off automatically when the max voltage is achieved? For example, will it stop charging a 3S lipo at 12.6V?
Crazy that they put 100C on that battery, but with 6milliohm on one of the cells means it is only around 16C. Of course I don't know how old the battery is. Maybe it was around 20-25C when it was new.
Can i charge that same zeee battery on a non balance charger with out using that safety battery bag because wanna give my kids some rc cars the rc cars will be running those batterys will it be safe battery charger i have takes 5 to 6 hours to charge a lipo battery from flat to full
It seems simple can I just use a balance board with a xt60 with the charger ports and can I charge more than one battery and if they have the same voltage and same cell
Hi! I have issue with HTRC B6 V2 - durring charge LiHV bat. I set up lihv program, press start - and after some time of charging get info "battery disconnected" - but connection is OK
Hello, can this charger still be recommended? My son got an RC model for Christmas and I need to look for a good and inexpensive charger. Will this purchase be a good one or should I look for something else?
I have a pair of HTRC C150 chargers that I really like. They have internal power supplies, and the balance ports are external, while maintaining a small form factor. Most of the other things Razor mentioned as issues, don't seem to be present in the C150. At the time I purchased, about $55 on Amazon.
Have one and charges for a bit and then getting random numbers letters and symbols across the board. Idk how to fix that and don't want to mess up my battery
I've got an OEM IMAX B6AC charger (I believe the unit in your review is a re-brand of that one) that is great for 2s but doesn't have enough power to charge a 4s. It reads "input voltage error" and shuts off. I tried it with a 450w benchtop power supply instead of the ac adapter and same thing. It won't charge a 6s at all. Not sure if the 6s claim is marketing hype but it won't charge more than a 2s. Hopefully yours works better for you.
@@RazorRC I didn't discover the issue with mine until I started my review of the Pro-Line Pro Fusion SC and realized I couldn't charge the battery. I'm assuming that a 3s 5000mAh pack wouldnt be too much for it though as that's only 60-70 watts but the 4s 5000 needs 90 watts plus to achieve a full charge. Great review though, just thought I'd give you a heads up!
Im having a bit of a problem with mine, Im trying to charge a 3 cell 5200 mah battery, but the charger only charges it to around 2200 mah? Any way to solve this? Btw its a brand new batt.

I have this battery charger, but I have lost the operating manual.
I am looking for it in PDF format. Could you upload it?
Thanks a lot

For a LiPo is it typical to charge at 6 amps? It was defaulted at 2 amps? I figure maybe a slow charge?
Watts / voltage = amps. This is an 80 watt charger, so if you're charging a 25.2 volt battery, it will charge at about 3 amps max.
@@RazorRC That explains it, thanks!

Thats because of you power supply, you need something like a 12v 3a
Does this charger have an option to put in a storage charge for lipos?
Yes it does, and the main reason I bought it. Now I just need to figure out how to do that for 1S batteries.

11.43 probably multiplied by how many batteries are in ur pack
And how would I charge my 2cell 5200 50C lipo. And mine says “AUTO” in the balance charge screen

How many amps are you trying to charge at? You have to do the math, e.g. 80w/16.8v = about 4.5 to 4.8 amps at most for a 4S.
