You are the chicken hatching queen. Don't let this one experience get you down. You learned a lot and can fix your mistake. Can't wait to see the next run.
Thank you for this video. Last week I had 9 chicken eggs in the incubator. 5 hatched very well. Very textbook hatch. I had 2 more that had pipped. They both started breaking their shells. I knew they were struggling. My instincts told me to intervene. This wasn't my first hatching so I knew what I was doing but I trusted the "experts" who discourage intervening. I lost one egg completely to shrink wrapping. The other egg hatched but the chick struggled from day of hatch. We ended up losing the chick on day 3 of life. The last 2 eggs I lost somewhere along day 18 or 19. By day 21 I knew they were no longer viable. I've been beating myself up since last Thursday for not intervening. Thank you for helping me find peace. 💚
Oh I'm so sorry after all the time and waiting that it turned out not good. But, I certainly appreciate you sharing what you think you did wrong and will help all of us. Blessings to you.
Your local breeder may have some hatching tips for you too. As with all things with growing plants or animals, there are learning curves and things we have no control over. You did much better than my first garden!!!
It’s completely okay! I am a nervous wreck, as this is my very first experience with turkeys. I am on not quite 24hrs before they started incubating and already a nervous wreck! I appreciate this video and will continue to watch more. I have been testing out these incubators for a week before I ordered the turkey eggs.
I think Turkeys require a much different incubation system to Chickens, in the wild, Turkeys (no not Wild Turkey hic!) have a very humid pile of decomposing vegetation as a nest , so this must generate a lot more humidity , I think although the humidly meter was showing the correct reading, the fact that there was too much air flow allowed the shells to dry out too much, but that is what you have concluded by your analysis, so all this was not for nothing, you have learned a lot from this project, well done! Stay safe, Chris B.
Thanks for watching Chris. Yes, I did learn a very important lesson. There we're signs through out the process that had me wondering. I was constantly filling my water trays and the fact that I never had condensation building up on the see thru windows had me second guessing what was going.
@@farmmom7140 I think you just have to put these things down to gaining knowledge, it can be very frustrating when you do everything to the book and still have problems, but it does make us all wiser , you must feel very upset loosing them at this late stage, but it will not happen next time I am sure. Chri B.
Keep Up the Great work You are Awesome at what you do! I have learned so Much from You. This was the 3rd time to hatch and I was in the process of hatching chicks which I learned how to by watching your video series🤗 (Thank You!!) This time I was very heartbroken because this time my chicks Wer having trouble and and they Wer dying inside so I rewatched and rewatched Your series to see what I was doing wrong.I was to the point of quitting 😭 and although I still had 8 eggs in the incubator I took a break I started to watch Your Turkey Series! Instead I have a Pair of Turkeys and have thought of hatching some of their eggs. Hallelujah🙌🏿 and now I know what I did wrong!!! I also propped up my Incubator 🤦🏿♀️!!! I will definitely correct it for next time💕 Thank You Margarita💕
Thanks for watching Margarita! Thanks for all the kind words. I've learned so much this time around with the Turkey Hatching Series. Very heartbreaking, but I'm not giving up and I'm going to give it a go again with correcting my own silly error.
I have a couple of questions. 1. How old were your eggs when you initially put them in the incubator? 2. How can I increase my humidity with my incubator having a preset humidity guage?
Thanks for watching! The eggs were 5 days old and stored in a cool environment. On the humidity I would purchase a separate humidity reader just to double check that your incubator one is accurate. I've found they are somewhat different. Are you wanting to increase the humidity at lockdown time or during incubation time?
I got turkey eggs supposed to hatch in 6 days... Praying they so good... First time doing turkey eggs...I know how you feel about shrink wrapped eggs I had that problem last month with chicken eggs..first time its ever happened ,I've always had good luck with hatching chicken eggs..
@@farmmom7140What a difference an extra inch in hight does, I would have never imagined! But all this is behind and now with renewed straight, you can do it successfully! Can't wait! Blessings🙏🤗❤
You'll get it! Remember, if you see a ravenous, drooling wolf lurking near the brooder, do not shoot! Mike! Bad boy! Shoo! Mama got a hairbrush and she ain't afraid to use it. :)
We just had major failure. We had to assist all on the ones that made it. But we didn't have too much air flow, ours was flat. We are trying to watch a turkey farmer to follow his recommendations because he has like a 99% sucess rate
Thank you so very much for sharing your journey with us. By being brave enough to share your experience many of us have learned vicariously through you. You have saved the lives of thousands of turkey's, chickens, and other fowls by sharing your story.
Those eggs were pretty dirty. That might have had something to do with it. YES humidity is extremely important on all fowl eggs. I have trouble with humidity all the time. I use a smaller room with a heater to help raise the humidity. If I turn a fan on the humidity drastically drops. They look healthy don't beat yourself up, it's trial and error. We live and learn
I'm worried because they are moving great when I candled them tonight but air sac isn't where it should be according to a picture I seen I am using a air still incubator
@@farmmom7140 today is day 28 I can hear chirping coming from eggs and still haven't zipped yet should I be worried its my first time so I'm so nervous 😬
I had chickens and turkeys way back and I check on them all the time when they are hatching and when if I notice that some chicks takes too long to hatch I check the inside for the veins and if rhe yolk is gone already and no more blood on the veins and theu still don’t hatch I helped them hatch and they all alive that’s why IT IS NOT BAD TO HELP to hatch this chicks especially if it is hatching from the incubator. Most of the videos I watched in youtube who don’t help the chicks hatch pissed me off coz they can actually help them not to die.
I loved the video. Thanks for sharing your experience. Rite now im incubating 6 Royal palm eggs and your video will be very useful.
You can’t get mad at yourself for doing something if you didn’t know, it was wrong, and thank you for pointing out the mistakes for others
Thank you, and thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching and your support Mike! I for sure learned an important lesson on this hatch and what to never do again.
That's right Mike and Shellie! You go girl! We all learned, so thank you for teaching us. I can see the next batch coming up in the next 30 days! 🤗🤗❤❤

Thanks Molly! Good luck if you're hatching your own. Great experience.
Great video series. Thanks for being so open in sharing. I have 12 turkey eggs in the incubator right now sol this helps quite a bit.
Just ordered some eggs and your videos popped up. Thanks for sharing your results. It really helps to see the mistakes. Not everyone would show that .
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the info. We have our first turkey eggs in our incu. We're just at day 1.
Thanks for watching! Good luck!
😢😢 I’m so sorry sweetie but I’m so proud you’re not giving up.🦃🦃❤️❤️
Thanks Peggy. I was almost in tears just doing the update video. I did learn a lot from this hatch and what to never do again.

Always put a couple of baby chicks that will teach the baby turkeys to eat and drink.
You're doing great, keep up the good work.we do learn as we go.
You can’t learn if you don’t try. I can imagine this was heartbreaking for you. I sure hope you can get more turkey eggs soon.

Did Bridget and lucky make it ?..and when you done another hatch..how did it turn out?
Just put a very warm. wash rag in your incubator. Set you eggs on rag. This will stop shrink wrap.

I have turkey eggs that are suppose to hatch the 16th of this month! My first time doing this I'm so nervous
