We have on hen (Speedy) that started laying and we got about 2 dozen eggs from her and now she has stopped laying. All the other girls are still laying great we are still getting eggs from them every day. Speedy is at the bottom of the pecking order as she was the last hen introduced into the flock. Any idea what we can do to get her started laying again?

Where are optimal places to store eggs? It is still warm 70-80's outside in the barn and about the same inside my house or garage. Should I leave them in the nesting box with the hen until there is enough. I am new to this.

It’s completely okay! I am a nervous wreck, as this is my very first experience with turkeys. I am on not quite 24hrs before they started incubating and already a nervous wreck! I appreciate this video and will continue to watch more. I have been testing out these incubators for a week before I ordered the turkey eggs.

I once stored my fertile eggs under the bed at about 65 degrees F for eight days. Just added a few more on the ninth day (fresh) for a 35 egg hatch out of forty eggs. I noticed natural nesting birds building a clutch of eggs on a nest for up to 18 days, before actually setting to hatch them. I have hatched eggs well in a homemade incubator storing them at up to 68 degrees, in a dark place, for 12 days. Now after many years of only using broodys, I am digging out a never used older Little Giant incubator as a neighbor's dog ended my broody brigade and all of their couple weeks worth of setting on eggs. I had some of my best layers killed in the attack, also. I collected these fertile eggs a week ago, stored at about 70 to 75 degrees (heat wave!) and now am considering trying to hatch them out, about 60 eggs. Less than ideal, but I have seen stranger things work out. So wish me luck! Very nice video, Thanks!

Thanks a lot for this, I’ve always let my chickens hatch out under a mama so this is my first year incubating and I wasn’t sure what little habits I needed to do PRIOR to incubation when I was getting a good clutch. I am not letting natural hatching this year because the mamas do take good care of the chicks sure BUT we dont get to handle said chicks much sense mama hen is always protective over them. Basically this is just so they can be friendly like our older hens.

Something interesting that happened with my chickens which are mixed breeds - they were only producing 1 - 2 eggs per day out of 16 chickens, even the young ones. This was happening for about 4 months. Then my partner bought one Isa brown and one australorp. They settled in nicely, no pecking! Well, after 2 days, I am getting 6 - 7 eggs a day! This has continued for a few weeks now. I can only put it down to competition. What would you say has happened?

My sister found a wild baby duck alone, this size. She brought it for my other sister to care for, but she's too busy.. I'm left trying to find out what to feed it, how much, how often, dry or soaked or cooked.. how much water to drink how often, none of these videos are giving details. I have it in a cat carrier so my 4 cats don't eat it. If anyone can tell me or divert me to a truly useful step by step video it would be much appreciated.

Boil it for 1 min. Use cold water in pan not warm water.

I have a tiny 12 egg incubator going. I just put it in 4 days ago with one helping of water. I don't know if I should go past the amount. The bottle they gave me and I don't have a humidifier since in the brochure. It said it came with one I'm not experienced. It did not come with one and in fact, came with a spray bottle, not even a part of the kit. From Amazon, it has an automatic egg Turner and so I'm lucky of that, but it's rolling. My eggs is that dangerous. It's not tossing side to side like yours is. God bless you happy hatching.

Thanks for describing the entire process. This will be our first time incubating eggs and we had no clue about how long you could store the eggs before incubation, maintaining humidity levels or that you need to rotate the eggs during storage.

lol, It doesn't matter if the eggs are dirty. Some really funny advice all through out the video. What is your hatch percentage? I get 90% or better and don't follow any of this advice. Just watched to see if there was anything I was missing.
