I did disconnected the egr valve and the engine smooth out a little but after a few miles of drive start making a tap noise coming from the top of the intake. What could be that noise is like a piston bending the valves
I have p0302 cylinder 2 rpm goes up & down on idle changed all the spark plugs something that happens is that white smoke 💨 is coming from exhaust I’m not loosing antifreeze
I was wondering about the EGR but I wasn't certain. I was getting misfires on Cyl 4 with flashing CEL with P0304 error. Replaced the coils, it worked for a week then misfires again with flashing CEL Cyl 4 P0304 but this time with P0456 (yes, I bought a new gas cap). I couldn't find the leak in the EVAP but then I don't have many tools to diagnose. But it's strange that it would only affect one cylinder unless I'm not reading the scanner correctly.
Your replaced both coils and spark plugs on both cylinder 4? I assume you know its has 2 on each cylinder. But if you did. Then try to unplug the egr as well and give it a try.
@@benz240d Thanks for the suggestion, I tried but no such luck unfortunately. Still misfires. And on top of that, the gas cap seemed to resolve the P0456 issue. This is going to be a hard one.
@@102006songs I did disconnected the EGR but no such luck, still got the misfires. Then I checked the line pressure and then and looked at the fuel injectors. I actually took out the fuel injectors and looked at the spray pattern and didn't find the problem. My thinking was that it could be some sensor or maybe some wire that was pinched somewhere but by that time I just had enough. I took in to a shop that specialized in Honda vehicles and they said although they have experienced techs, these intermittent problems are hard to find sometimes. They used a diagnostic procedure and software from Honda that uses A.I. to find the problem. After 4 hours of testing the software determined that the fuel injectors were the problem. I was skeptical at first but decided to replace with used ones to see if it worked and it did. So I don't know how they figured that out, but diagnosing the problem on these new cars is way beyond my ability.
Unplugging it sometimes won't help, because it maybe stuck open already. Try to take it off and plug the hole with a piece of thin sheet from a soda can.
Thanks for the video. I did the same and my misfire went away. But what is the problem? Do i change the egr valve. I tried cleaning it but no luck but the misfire came back when i plug the egr back. Would changing the egr valve solve the problem or do i need to clean any clogged up egr tubing in engine?
Cylinder 1 is always the one by where the timing chain is. On civic, its the first one from the left if you are stranding in front of the car. So cylinder number number 4 is the last one on your right.
@@quincephotos p2413 is normal to come up because you unplugged the egr. But in your case, I guess you need to check your coil and spark plugs on that cylinder. Remember, there are 2 coils and 3 spark plugs for every cylinder in your civic hybrid.
@@benz240d i disconnected and the misfire stops a little bit, its better than what it is when its plugged in. Will getting a new egr fixed the problem? is it safe to just keep riding around with it unplugged? what do i do to fix it for good while having the egr plugged in?
This video helped me fix the misfire I had on my 07 civic hybrid. I changed all the spark plugs and Egr and boom! Fixed. Thanks a bunch 👍
Thanks bro mine doing the same thing it was the egr good video

@@antonioj123 Hi, did you get it fixed some and of so how you managed to fix it?

In no
I am definitely going to try this.
So just replace the EGR?
If egr is bad, Yes. but if the ecm is faulty and activates the egr when not needed, then a block off would be better.
Oh thanks!! Im going to try that. Did you get fully solved?
Yes that solved my issue back then.
I tried unplugging the EGR, but that didn't help. Im gonna keep searching and trying different things to fix it

You can try to change it. But for now unplugging it is just fine.
Mine is doing the same thing I unplugged egr and misfire goes away I already bought anew egr and problem is the same!!
What scanner were you using?
Snap on, Solus Ultra.
How to identify which cylinder is which? getting p0304 cylinder 4 misfires.

Mechanic Benz thanks for the reply. I disconnected the egr and got codes p2413 and p0304. Anything you recommend please

how much new EGR ?
About $50 on ebay. But in my case, the computer was activating the egr on a times, which made the car misfires. So I just deleted it by plugging it.

If I have the same problem, I changed all the spark plugs and coils, should I do the same?
Try to disconnect it and see what happens.

What happens if we leave the EGR unplugged?
Absolutely nothing. Its more of an emission part. Environmental thing.😊

Great video.I have same car with same problems.. HELP what kind of scanner is that how much?
