- -Extremely successful ultra remote lure fishing in the Lake district for Wild brown trout. Stunning scenery, underwater footage, fossils and even outdoors foraging tips! Filmed on the first day of the season it was non-stop action. If you recognise the location in this video please don't name it in the comments or it may be deleted, this will help preserve the quality of the fishing here. Would love to know your thoughts on the video below! Excuse the fact that I went a bit mental for the first fish, it was a special moment catching a fish on the first cast of trout season. Was great to help my friend catch his first fish in years and his first ever trout. Hit that like button and subscribe for more adventure content in Cumbria.

Nice to see you back doing what you love. And you lucky jammy sod catching two fish in 2 casts !!! Absolutely brilliant. Love watching your videos. Love the Lake District as well ... there’s that many lakes to choose from though and spoilt for choice... keep em coming buddy and well done !! 👍🏽👍🏽😀😀
Haha got really lucky, was a moment I’ll never forget that’s for sure! Really glad you enjoy watching the videos hoping to make a lot more like it over summer! Thanks for the comment I appreciate it 🐟
Cracking video, those trout are stunning as was the scenery! Great stuff 👏🎣
Thanks mate really glad you enjoyed the video!
Great video mate! Nice rebrand too! First of many!
Thanks mate I appreciate that! Just so happened to be talking about your podcast when I had a bite that’s why it’s included. Looking forward to it though!
Awesome vid George, and love the new direction of the channel! That ultralight rod looks a beauty, I have the Rigged and Ready X5 adventure and must say its a gamechanger, love how durable it and diverse it is, look forward to seeing this new tele model develop! Looks like you had a blast, and awesome job on the 2 in 2! lovely fish, can't wait to get back to Cumbria sometime soon!!
Thanks for the comment mate I appreciate it! Glad you like the new channel direction it wasn’t an easy decision. I’ve been using the rigged and ready rods for a while now and I agree with you they’re really good! Especially excited for this telescopic though!
These videos are really fun to watch keep it up👌
Thanks mate glad you liked it!
Tremendous session mate, what a start to the season, must feel good!
Was a great start yeah! Can't believe I had two fish in the first two casts of the season. Definitely a trip to remember!
@@adventurefishinguk Itching to get out there so bad!!
@@EzeAdventurer I'm sure you will be soon!
Nice session good size trout👌
Thanks mate I appreciate that!
Great session there pal snd class video too!!!
Thanks mate i appreciate that!
Catch and release my friend ....you are so wise my friend .......in my plase when I go to fishing ,the small fish even that I catch I bring home for fried fish 😀😀😂😂😂🙏🙏🙏
Over here it's a little different! We do eat them sometimes but prefer to release for someone else to catch one day
All subscribed, looking forward to catching up on your videos 👍🏻
Thanks mate! I've returned the favour
Nice video, congrats on the double. Two in as many casts doesn't happen often! The rocks look like fossilised coral reefs, so probably imported to build that bank. The big radiant one is probably a fungia.
Thank you! Definitely not an every day occurrence, happy it happened on the first day of the season too. Definitely looked like imported rock, thanks for commenting on the fossil though i was very intrigued by it and was hoping someone could shed some light!
Well done mate plus that place looks awesome topman bud
Thanks mate it really was, very picturesque
Cracking lad .
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it!
Super vid, I've a fair idea where that is, but you're right to keep the precise location quiet! I like the feature you make of crushing the barbs on your hooks. Nice one. 👍
Thank you! Yeah it’s fairly obvious here, if you know you know! Just wouldn’t want to risk a flood of people going fishing there especially as I’m hoping to guide over summer
Fossils look like corals to me, the rock could be Carboniferous Limestone (formed 300+ million years ago when Britain was at tropical latitudes). Nice video :)
Yeah definitely looks like coral. Could well have been from that era, also could maybe have been transported there from somewhere else to help build the reservoir!
I can't wait to see the production model of Riggy's telescopic job! There is always the danger with his rods of turning into a tackle tart.
Good luck with the change of name and direction. I hope you do well. Your videos appeal to a very wide audience.
I'm looking forward to seeing it too! I don't think theres any tackle tart risk at all haha. I'd say thats characterised by having loads of expensive rods for every purpose/species under the sun. Quite the opposite with a rigged and ready rod lots of them offer a one size fits all solution!
Cracking video mate if I was you I would buy a lottery ticket! 1st you catch a grinder using a lure then 2 trout in 2 casts 😂😂
I know! Might go pick one up, could be possible that i've used all my good luck up now that'll be it for the rest of the season haha
Superb video - loved watching it - Did the first fish have something wrong with it's eye? And well done Robbie!
Thank you! It did, could've been cataracts or just generally been blind!
Great video as always George, what a fantastic day! Are most of the tarns/lakes fishable on just an EA rod licence?
It varies from place to place but a google search on where in particular you’re looking to fish will usually tell you if it’s owned or not! In general a standard EA license is sufficient though
Really enjoy your videos dude, from trout to old golden grinders 😂😂
Haha you really do get it all on this channel!
Glad you're enjoying them
Some gorgeous trout and I’m glad your mate caught too. When using the Rapala do you have a swivel between the lure and line?
Thanks Alan! Personally I don't, think i might start using a link swivel though. Up until now i've been tying directly to the split ring which seems a bit temperamental, not had any issues with doing that so far but think I might switch as a precaution. Would you recommend them?
Nice video
Thanks for the comment Darren!
Nice fishing mate! you thought of doing a wild camp and fish? also i'd call that a jammy cookie lol
Thanks mate! I've done one before, you should have a watch! It's on my channel called lake district wild camping and fishing. Saw some incredible views!
Hi. Please can you tell me how you set up your gear for spinners/rapalas. Do you use braided line with mono leader and do you use anti kink vanes? Thanks
Hi Charly, it depends where I’m fishing really. For trout like in this video I just use mono straight through but if I was fishing in a river with bigger fish I’d probably use braid. Thanks for the comment!
@@adventurefishinguk Thank you for your reply mate. Does your line not get badly kinked fishing straight through. I’m an avid trout fisherman but relatively new to spinning/lure fishing.
Great content by the way. Me and my dad are both new subscribers!!
@@charlybellcrank5922 I’ve heard some people don’t like using it straight through. I can see it being a problem if you’re fishing 4lb line or lighter but personally I don’t feel the need if I’m fishing a bit heavier. If you use a small link swivel as a lure clip that helps too with no need for a leader!
I was hoping you would have hooked a small pike well done lads
Thank you! I’m not 100% sure there’s any in there, never seen any pictures or heard anyone getting one. There’s rumours though!
@@adventurefishinguk thank you for replying to me
@@raybarker5131 anytime, thanks for the comment!
That looks a really nice rod, are they available to buy yet? Thanks for the great vid!
Glad you enjoyed it! They're not available yet because as I understand it they're still making improvements to the rod. Shouldn't be too long though!
“Two for two!”
😂
Hi there, after watching you vids I was inspired to take up fishing again after about 20 years absence, just got my order from rigged n ready rod reel and net ( thanks for the code) could you recommend a location to fish for pike it's a 2 hour trip for me to the lakes so any pointers would be greatly appreciated, keep up the good work and thanks for everything.
Hi Niel, I'm really glad you're back out fishing again! Pike fishing can be tough in the lakes, even more so in winter! Esthwaite is a good place to try if you want to pay for your fishing, you can take the boats out there. Windermere can be good too but it's such a big water it's a bit of a lottery! If you're travelling and you don't have much luck in the lakes, some stretches of canal near J36 of the M6 can be great fun
good video mate! Would you ever try the bigger lakes? Maybe do a perch fishing video on coniston or windermere? Cheers!
Wouldn’t really know where to start to get honest mate but I’m definitely interested in it! Been invited out on a boat over summer on coniston so will definitely be doing that, and will keep an eye out for some good places to fish from the bank. From what I understand trout fish isn’t great on them and that’s where my main focus is but if I find a good spot for perch I’ll definitely have a crack at it!
@@adventurefishinguk Fair enough mate! I've caught brown trout on windermere trolling with a spoon on a rowing boat. Think you are right though, don't think theyre known for their trout really. Worth a shot though, you never know what you might get. Have you ever tried Esthwaite? Stocked rainbow trout in there!
To be honest stocked rainbow fishing doesn't really appeal to me that much with the exceptions of those places that stock 10lb+ haha, were you charr fishing by trolling that spoon? I've always wanted to catch one of those
@@adventurefishinguk Yeah I get you, can't beat catching a wild brownie. I wasn't specifically going for any type of fish to be fair, caught a few perch as well in the same session. I'm aware of the Charr in windermere, apparently they're so deep down in the lake where the water is super cold. Wouldn't mind catching one myself!
do u have any idea if a 7-21g rod would be to heavy for pike and perch
I prefer ultralight fishing for perch, and would go for something 1-10 grams. 7-21 sounds a bit on the heavy side for perch for me but it really depends on what lures your going to be using. Could be a bit on the light side for pike fishing too
@@adventurefishinguk do you think a 3-14g would be ok for trout and perch or still a bit heavy
That sounds really good to me!
Great videos mate, can you recommend a few spinners or lures to try next week on windermere? 😎👍🏻
Sure mate! The one thing you absolutely need is the lureboi microboi in white with the white jighead. You can get 10% off with code AFUK10 the salmon hornet 3.5cm in trout pattern is also great. Savage gear rotten spinners size 2 as well. Hope this helps
@@adventurefishinguk topman thanks mate any particular colours for spinners, and are there any good shops locally to look for these, I'm a sea angler but booked the lake district, wouldn't be rite to not have at least a day looking for a few brownys
@@shawnstanley6404 no shops in the Lake District really! Your closest good one would be fawcetts country sports near burton in kendal, check opening times well in advance though think they’re only open through the week
what lb line and what lure did you use please :)
I’m sorry this was so long ago I can’t remember!
Wow dude another awesome fishing video keep up the good work mate 😁 wheres that location please??
Thanks man glad you enjoyed it! Message me on instagram i'll be able to point you in the right direction
@@adventurefishinguk ok mate will do. All the best mate speak on insta
@@jxstjonezy See you there
Hi mate, me and my friend are looking at going to the Lake District to do wild fishing. Where abouts is this?
I don’t make my locations public anymore sorry mate!
How do you get on that side? I was there fishing today and followed the road on the opposite side leading to the car park. Great content as alway but 👍
how did you get on? Theres a small hamlet you can turn off to before joining the main road on the other side and a footpath that joins on
@@adventurefishinguk I had one decent size trout. I forgot to bring my spinners and only had jigs with me. I was on a light rod and the fight was amazing. Such a beautiful place. I wouldn't of known about it if it wasn't for you channel! Thanks for taking your time out to comment back 👍
I appreciate the comment! I love feedback like that it motivates me to keep making videos. Glad I’ve been able to help!
Nice one bud 👍Great video 👌What lures would you recommend for trout at this time of year
Thanks mate! Absolutely the rapala countdown 5cm in silver or gold. Floating or sinking depends on the depth of the water you’re fishing! Same goes for the 3.5cm salmo hornet, best is trout pattern. Hope this helps!
Cheers bud 👍Keep the videos coming
Definitely will thanks for the support!
What reservoir is that? 2 in 2 casts awesome !
If you message me on Instagram I’ll point you in the right direction!
Hi, looks glorious! Any spots you’d recommend trying with spinners? Have a boat hired this week to try! Cheers
Boat with an engine or a kayak type boat mate? Only a few of the lakes allow motor powered boats on them!
Ullswater, hiring a ‘fishing boat’ but can also kayak as have our own. Cheers!
@@tommo154321 plenty of trout and perch in ullswater mate! Wouldn’t know any exact places to point you too but don’t waste any of your time chasing pike there aren’t any in there really 👍
@@adventurefishinguk how do you pay for the fishing in ullswater? Is it just like butteremere where you pay at the parking machine?
@@ibizasunsets6497 free there mate, just need your licence

Where is this what’s the lake called ?
It’s in the Lake District! Unfortunately I’m stopping naming the waters I fish because I’m starting guided trips in the summer 👍
What lures were you using plz?
It says in the video mate near the end 👍
Nice one. Do you guide fishing lake district ?
I will be from this summer mate! Glad you liked the video
Is this called levers water
No levers water is a tarn if I’m not mistaken ⛰
Jammy dodger. Not you, the biscuit!
Haha i suppose both on this day, one of my better sessions for sure
