Our combine was converted by some jack leg to 4wd before we got it, they used 9650 rear diffs and wheels on a 9760 with with extensions, needless to say every corn season we broke the left wheel off until we bought a rear end out of a 9760. 🤦♂️
When I walked back there and saw the wheel on the ground I called a custom harvester. I thought it would be a week at best. Luckily nothing major broke in the fall. Now that I’m done dad and I will look it over real close. There is a lot of minor damages from the incident.
They do a great job. The key is to find equipment, regardless of brand, that will gather your crop efficiently without putting you into a debt hole that you can’t climb out of
@@PatrickShiversamen my friend. Everyone around here went Amadas crazy 10-15 years ago so when we switched from 4 row pickers to 6 row, we got a hell of a good deal on 2 low hour KMC combines. Nearly everyone else around us is running blue pickers (owed for), and we're running green and white (paid for) pickers
Mercer has been up 4-6 times a night this week. He was previously down to once a night. He was sick late last week and he hasn’t slept good since. Gets up for good around 4 some mornings. I think it’s Thursday today, but the last 5-6 days seem like a month.
The next day I picked the most peanuts I had picked in a single day this season and then the day after that the opposite side tire had to have a tube put in it
Good point. Also, if it were 1979 the picker would have been a Lillihston Hi-Cap. There would have been 5-6 of them running on a farm my size, and any part would have been available at the nearest dealer. A lot has changed. Some for the better some for the worse. The smartphone definitely was the hero of the day.
@PatrickShivers yep yep, I know. I'm glad to see you got it fixed as quickly as you did and got finished. Has to feel a lot better than being down for a week during the home stretch
Hello, Patrick! The tougher the hardship, the greater the motivation to overcome...
Great job Patrick. I covered 13 10ft rows of heirloom tomato`s yesterday. Picked about 6 rows clean.
November tomatoes!
Wow ! That’s a bad day !!!

That sounds like a nightmare.
The damaged rim would make a really nice fire ring/outdoor grill.
A time to remember when in the rocking chair
24 hour success rate plus or minus. Well done!

When I branch out and start farming on my own I want an Amadas.

@@MarshallLanier-oi1mk It’s been 50-50 blue-green around here since the late 90s. Colombo is taking our area by storm now.
I'm glad you got the picker fixed maybee you can get done harvesting without any more trouble!
Flat tire on opposite side right now. Tube is a day away. We’re about to try to patch it a limp to the finish line late today
@@PatrickShivers I hope it works!
You are proof that where there is a will there is a way.
Thanks Mike. The way I look at is the picker has to be running no matter what it takes to get it back going as my livelihood depends on it.
Howdy Patrick
Howdy Tug
That makes for a sh@#@ day. Just wondering if you have turkey on your farm and if they eat the peanuts after you turn them
We do have turkeys. They don’t seem to like flipped over peanut fields. They love peanut fields late season before digging
No job to big are small for this guy💪
Man I bet you slept good that night. That is if Mercer let ya! 😆 Them 12 ply tires ain’t no joke!

I know you were slap worn out after all that mess

I know that we all do it, but watching you trust that front end loader like that scared me a little.
Lol
I don’t film the sketchy stuff
