Such a great color. Makes everything look tough. This is the plainest truck I’ve ever seen, so I thought I would paint it the plainest color….non metallic grey.
Awesome! That's one of my favorite body style trucks ever. I have three. Lol. 90,91and another 91. Lol. Also some of the best trucks chevrolet ever made.
@@PatrickShivers exactly! I have a 15 Ram 3500 and the headlights are starting to look bad on it. It’s time I buff and clean them up. But that’s a job I absolutely hate doing! But it looks so much better when it’s done.
How did you get a body shop to paint the whole truck ? The shops here in NC will not paint a vehicle if you take it to them no matter the money. They only do insurance jobs. Take a part off order a new one and paint it to match. That’s it . Will not paint a vehicle! It’s crazy . They only want the easy money.
@@johnscurlock1204 a full paint job at a custom paint shop is a few thousand dollars. I took this to an old guy way out in the country that does bargain work. It’s not show quality, but it was only $1,000 for full paint job and some mild body work.
I’m wondering if they put a screw on the inside of the door to the body so it couldn’t be opened. That’s what I would have done if I thought you wanted it closed for good.
Hate to say it but that door semantics goof is pretty funny. Now you'll have to interpret what "leave it for a while", means. Just noticed as you were backing out, the driver's door is mis-aligned. Maybe wasn't closed all the way but maybe a little insight into what's going on with the passenger door.
@@PatrickShivers FYI. I'll have some hot sauce coming your way towards the end of the month. About to take a cross country road trip. Where can I get your shipping address? Thanks
@@rayraymartinez7111 I don’t remember exact amount now (it’s been a year and a half ago) but it was right around $1,000. It’s not a show quality paint job. I told the guy it’s a $500 farm truck not a resto-mod so he gave me a farm truck level paint job
Hello, Patrick! Very fine help you got...
That thang is working. Could you do a walk through of your deer mounts. Maybe some story time everybody loves a hunting tale. This channel rocks,!!!!!
Thanks for watching Darrell! I may do some more deer related content later.
That's a good looking truck
Thanks Cole
Nice work!
Thanks!
Nice job Patrick!!!! I always loved battleship grey! God bless you and your family my friend.

Great purchase. Another blessing from God!! AMEN.!!!!

I agree. 1998 was the pinnacle of Chevy trucks.
Pretty good for a work truck 😊
Great fun project.
Thanks for watching!
I’m a lot like you, I don’t mind spending a little on some good lights! I want to see a deer long before I get to it. Good job on it!
$100 on lights makes a truck look $1,000 better.

looks good
Thanks Salt! I got a few more touches left.
That thing doesn't even look like the same truck.. looks a heck of a lot better.. nice work.
It was a cheap paint job, but it still cost more than the truck.
@@PatrickShivers yup that's the of life these days. Thanks for the video.

I think he adjusted the striker to high and now it can’t unlatch. I called him on it and he said I need to drop it off and “leave it for a while.”
@@PatrickShivers you’re probably right, but I couldn’t help myself but shine a flashlight around the inside just to see

The hinges and latches are wore out on both of them. I got new latches on the way, haven’t found hinges yet.

How much to get it repainted and get the dents out ?

Did you get the door open?
No. Body shop said to bring it back and “leave it for a while.” I still have to paint all the interior parts, then I’ll take it back over there.
Is that a 4.3?
Yes it is. No computer. No radio. The only thing electric on it are the lights and the spark plugs. (And fuel pump)
