    I enjoyed watching this, very informative. I was wondering if you could make a video and or touch on what college students should do to help find a job? I personally would like to know what could make me stand out more than others. Another idea, what you wish you knew before having the job you currently have.

      1 - I'd recommend taking any interview you can get, even if you know you don't want the job, the more you interview the better you will get at it, just look at it as free experience and turn down the job if you don't want it
      2 - Get a job as a sub, this will give you real experience, allow you to see different schools and network with teachers
      3 - Contact the PE teachers in the area you want to work and ask to come observe them, let them know you are looking for a job, sub for them etc

    I am planning to apply as P.E teacher in the US , would you recommend institutions or schools that are hiring P.E teacher

      Cool! I would identify where you want to live and then reach out to the state department in that area to find out where jobs are getting posted and where you need to submit your application to get into the pipeline (if you want to work in a public school). The rules for private schools and charter schools are more flexible so you can contact those schools specifically if you find an opening.

    Illegal in CA to put a picture FYI

      Wow, that's interesting - I guess they want to try and prevent discrimination based off appearance? maybe you could get around that by including a QR code with a little intro video or examples of you teaching?

    First year PE Teacher with Masters can I find a good job in California ?

      @ThePESpecialist  7 місяців тому

      Not sure, but there's a pretty huge teacher shortage nationwide, so doubt you'll have trouble finding a job anywhere

    How difficult were your college classes that were required for physical education?

    • @ThePESpecialist
      @ThePESpecialist  5 років тому +3

      Depends on the class, but it was definitely challenging. The student teaching classes were much more time consuming than any classes my other college friends were involved in. Also, some of our pre-requisites were the same as Pre-Med students (Biology, Anatomy) so those were pretty tough as well.

    I am interested in being a pe teacher, any advice on not to be nervous too much not to think too much and have self doubt etc to lead them. any advice? I have worked with kids at kumon tutoring center, i9sports and current assistant football coach .

      Get a job subbing in schools to get more experience or reach out to some PE teachers in your area and ask if you can shadow them.
      The more you do it the easier it will be, there are tons of awesome PE teachers sharing content, examples and ideas on youtube and social media, so you have a lot of great examples to pull from to help speed up your learning curve

    I have a health and fitness background. I'm not teacher certified yet. However, due to a shortage of teachers, many schools in my state will consider hiring you contingent upon you fulfilling state requirements within 3 years of being hired. Does your state allow something similar? Even if I'm not hired, I'm looking forward to learning from the experience alone. Also, what is a quick example of PBL as it relates to PE?

    • @ThePESpecialist
      @ThePESpecialist  5 років тому

      Yes! They have alternative certification programs in SC. not sure what PBL is.

      If you don't mind me asking, what state do you live in? As someone inspiring to be a teacher (specifically PE) it's good to know what options are available to me.
