- Nine possible fixes if your iphone 5/6/6s is have connecting issues to your mobile network (sim card) such as "no service" or its constantly searching. If none of these steps work please try them again and it still no go then you may need to have your sim card replaced or it can be a software or hardware issue. Select the carrier
Select mode as ‘automatic’

AFTER consulting 3 different Verizon techs who ALL told me the problem was my phone is too old and couldn’t be fixed and to get a new one (so I did - $$$!!!) and then found your video on my own. OMG. Needless to say I’m quitting Verizon.

After turning off my cell phone, removing sim card, resetting network, connecting and disconnecting from wifi I called my provider. They walked through every step I had already done after I told them I had already done so, only to tell me I should install pending updates which didn’t help then said they would reset from their end. They said that would do the trick and ended the call. Nothing happened! I did a you tube search, found this video and the airplane mode trick fixed my no service problem. Been having problems with my phone Internet service from going to one X to 3G never getting LTE. Constantly getting notifications no Internet service. Went to the store to get them to look at my phone they claim to have fixed it and yet still had issues. Then come across this video and it solves the problem. Thank you so much! Of all the steps, I tried several and none seem to work for me except for ejecting the Sim card while the phone was on and then waiting a few minutes turning it off waiting a few minutes insert the Sim card and turning it back on. Problem solved! You are a lifesaver and don’t know why didn’t think of this before. I was about to reset my phone completely and erase everything or smashed the damn thing because I was so frustrated at not being able to get anything to work properly,again thank you!

I did all of these suggestions and the ONLY thing that worked was a solution I found in these comments! Honestly man, I dropped my phone onto a towel about 12” off the ground with it off and SIM card out. It actually worked! I had to do it twice. Thank you people of the interwebs!

Try this: pull out SIM card & tray, unscrew the 2 bottom screws, lift the screen up, and just blow into the contacts/area where the SIM card connects. Worked great for me.
I removed the SIM card and used an eraser to clean the contacts on it, (I did this to my arcade cabinets when the cartridges wouldn't work) I got my phone to work right away. thanks for the SIM card idea

I just bought my iphone 6 3 days ago and it was all good at first. And after like 5 hours it started searching or no service network. So i try reboot, take out my simcard and so on. It worked at first. But the next morning i woke up, this thing happened again. So i thought it was my simcard problem then i immediately went to changed my simcard. It worked just fine but after a few hours it begin again. Idk what else to do so i'm planning to return back this iphone soon. See if they can give me a new iphone XD

I have MetroPCS and I called customer support like 5 times did nothing went into the store and they told me my phone was broken and I needed to get a new one and they looked at the phone and they're just worthless, the reset network thing fixed the problem for me, thanks you so much it was really bugging and annoying me and it was dangerous! My wife's iPhone 5s had a similar issue. Where it could not find our carrier with SIM card. So she took it back to them and they replaced the SIM card. Still did not find carrier. Well the next day her iPhone battery died from her just not charging it. Once we plugged it back in and it went though all the loading stuff. It was then able to find our carrier with in a few minutes. Hope this trick helps someone else out with this issue.

My phone randomly says "No sim card" and its pissing me off because it has been like this for like a week.
+Cruel tAke out SIM card and lick the metal part then dry off and put back in. If same problem then wedge piece of paper inside sim slot to make it more snug. If this no work get a new SIM card.

I FOUND A FIX , so what you want to do is while your phone is turned on Take out the sim Card And it should say No Sim then give it a blow and put it back in It should still say no service , but don’t worry turn your phone off and on and you should have service againn

My fix was this:
1. Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options > Roaming
2. Turn Voice Roaming off, turn Data Roaming off, turn International CDMA off.
3. Turn Voice Roaming on, turn Data Roaming on, turn International CDMA on.
That fixed it. I got solid dots and made a phone call.

if its detecting the sim then the SIM is most likely fine. a bad sim reader or sim card would say "No SIM".
searching "no service" is almost always a bad antenna.
the iphone 6's have a cheaply designed antenna compared to the iphone 5's
Car Guy thank youu, my phone kept saying" searching " for a week i did everything shown on here and nothing worked and all the antennas on the phone looked fine and in place. It no longer gave me service but works at times if lucky with WiFi.

I’ve had this problem for about 3 Days now and it’s pissing me off.
I’ve literally tried EVERYTHING.
Resetting the phone, resetting the network settings, taking out my SIM card and blowing on it, taking out my SIM card and dropping my phone from my 5’8” height, I updated to the newest IOS, turning on cellar data, etc.
None of the other people in my house have this kind of problem, and i seriously don’t know how this happened. Maybe it’s because I live in a cold state and it keeps shutting off?
It’s been some time since I dropped my phone before this too.
I seriously need to fix my phone for homework and for my studies.
Plus I’m bored as hell.
I try these options everyday but nothing has happened so far, it’s just; Searching ... No Service then full bars but AT&T is replaced with No Service and I need to connect to the WiFi every minute to get a somewhat okay internet connection of my hopefully temporary wireless wifi network company “No Service” for the time being. I’m seriously considering bringing this to a repair shop or to AT&T but that’s my last resort.

It’s just your phone. Turn of your phone take sim out. Drop it on the floor from about a foot, do it twice just to be sure. Put SIM card back in and turn phone back on. Sounds dumb but it actually works
Okay so I tried all of these steps and none of them worked I tried one last thing and it worked .... all I did was took out the SIM card with my phone on , put it back in, turned my phone off , let it chill for a good 5-10 mins then I plug the charger in and let it turn on by itself it loaded up for a good min then when it turned on back to the lock screen my signal thing was back on ;) try it puti

Mine just says "Error" and I can't do anything. I updated my iPhone already, swapped out SIM cards, but nothing seems to help. I'm not able to reset to factory default as you cannot activate your iPhone without SIM/mobile data for some reason... Basically hopeless.
Edit: Apple couldn't fix it. Would cost at least €200. Used 7 is worth €150, so fuck that. Bought the 11

TETRA try holding the lock and home button together until the screen turns black. Then pop SIM card out and then put it back in. This worked for me after try all these steps and nothing

I combined 2 and it worked but i also added my own addition if your sim isnt working try powering your phone off then wait a little bit, take out the sim and once again wait a little bit but make sure before you do all this reset your network then finally when you insert the sim instead of powering your phone on just plug it in and leave it be for a little longer. This is what worked for me
