I have been binge watching as I just found your channel. Not only is the work impressive both from your good selves and your artisans on the house but your editing and filming skills have come on in leaps and bounds. Very impressive and a joy to watch. Thank you for sharing.
What a transformation. It looks so good with the mortar cut out. Three cheers for the gang working among the muck, wind and rain. They were not faint hearted. 👍
Hard work by these professionals to bring charm an glory back to this Old Station. Result is absolutely amazing. You must be more than satisfied 😊 Waiting for the next episode...
I am stunned by the effort you are willing to put into this, after the last video where you explained all that what will be done. That's not for a small budget. The result, however, will be a gem of a property with no competition. It will look stunning inside and outside. It will be a one of a kind home.
We had just the front wall of our sandstock brick house repointed at least 15 years ago and it still looks great. We are in Australia and it was was a bloke from Liverpool in England that did it. He had worked on the brickwork at Anfield during his apprenticeship. One wall was a big enough job. Our house was built in 1888 so I know how much work restoring an old place is. It's nice watching your family doing it.
`been loving the renovation so far great job, that looked so dusty i mean i work as a finisher and painter so I'm used to getting dusty but that seemed like another level.
I hate heights and felt instantly dizzy when you climbed those ladders 🤣🤣🤣🤣. What a complete wuss I am. That was a huge job and so laborious. Now it’s all got to be filled in again! It’s going to look great xx
What an unbelievable result, and it isn't even completed! How very encouraging your progress is! Thanks ever so much for sharing this with us all. Continued success to you!
Have watched your progress since the very start and subscribed but not yet commented to show my support. Huge congratulations to you both for such amazing work in restoring a historic building. Amazing tenacity you have to not give up when things went wrong. I am so excited to see the final version and could only dream about seeing it in person. Please keep up tge amazing work and look forward to all future content. Best of luck. MJ x
The old building looks incredible with the mortar cut out and the defined lines of the brick and stone seem to just pop right out at this stage. hard work and a thankless task but these skilled men can be sure of one thing,,, a machine will never be able to take their job from them.
The work those guys have done on the brick so far has improved the look of the station ten fold, but the pointing will multiply that work one hundred fold when finishec, I have just recently had my roof power washed and re-pointed, and it now looks like a new roof, bext regards to all in Sth Walex, from a Kiwi living in Australia, Les
It’s starting to look very clean will look new when it’s done looking forward to seeing it Adrian Australia p.s. I use to work on the railways diesel’s only
That's the defination of laborious. I'm not sure I'd be cut out for that tpe of work. I hope they get to see the results fo their work. Thanks for sharing.
I love watching the progress and seeing all the different jobs required to bring it back. Do you mind giving us ballpark figures of what each job and materials cost? The cost is a huge equation when determining what and how things are done.
Excellent work. What a difference already! There must be skilled carpenters around that area who would be only too happy to replace the woodwork, but you may have to look outside the box to find them.
Wonderful brick work revealed at last this indeed was an excellent idea and improvement is visible straight away great idea so may I ask after your chickens are they laying eggs ? Now may all what you do be successful today video is wonderful thank you for the share today's work is outstanding you are repairing this fine old building with love and repect have a good week
Yes it does look a lot better just cut out. It brings unity to what was once patchy. At least the rain will lay the dust. Great progress for you so good luck with the rest.
I love your show I love trains, bricks everythingI you’re doing I wait with baited breath for everyone of your videos because it’s so important to preserve history even with your changes it’s a station house I’m living in US since 81 grew up in 50’s Brixton London
It's really surprising how different the building looks with the messy white grout removed. It's a good example of how, on a permanent repair, it's important to do it well, because the effort of re-doing it is so colossal. (Not just grout, but flooring and even cabinetry.)
Was one of the men called dusty sorry couldn't resist that. I wouldn't like their job too much dust and dirt for my liking but I can see they know what they are doing will look so much nicer once pointing is completed.
Not at all a comment on your own efforts but I find myself still mourning the loss of the original canopy as I have done since I first found your videos. So much of the earlier works could have been more sympathetic so I’ll enjoy whatever reversals you can achieve.
It is a shame it was taken down, if it had remained we would definitely have kept it and turned it into an outdoor space or room, a little too expensive to reinstate at this stage but you never know in the future
That is a ton of tedious, dirty work! While I'm sure it's costly, having it all done at once to protect the brick from further damage (like water getting into mortar gaps and freezing) will be worth it. Unlike many historic homes in the U.S., you have no stucco and minimal wood, so you won't have to do much exterior painting over the coming years (those Queen Anne Victorians with the four color paint schemes cost a bundle to maintain). A young gal in West Virginia did the brick repairs herself on her Victorian house; it took her 9 months. I've heard of a specialty carpenter who creates trim pieces like your roof edging, but he is located in Missouri. I'm sure someone closer to you can be found. So exciting to see the huge impact this will make to the look of the station. Toot! Toot! :D
Wonderful stuff, looking almost new again, Such a shame they just cut the support beams of the canopy, sadly even the railway did that at stations that are still open, either the glass gets smashed so they decide to take down the canopy to save money, or they say they will replace it with another then don't or worse knock the whole building down for a Portakabin Yuk. Anyway, looking good, can't wait to see the pointing done and what comes next! Good luck.
I remember having this done at a previous property, the dust was literally everywhere. I also remember having to cough up and have several neighbours cars and properties washed down.
As well as being absorbed by your journey, I'm always interested in the backing tracks you use for music. It would be useful to upload details in your description for each video.
There is a beautiful air brick on the left hand side under the canopy, will you be able to get a matching one for the other side? They did a fab job, it looks better already.😀👍
Not a job I would want, I like my lungs too much. A big step in the process though. I see poor Gill is back on that roof again, another job I wouldn't want. LOL 👍👍👍
Were the two guys on the angle grinders called Dusty and Thirsty, by any chance? 8^) Looks like a good job. There's two guys who will appreciate a breezy day to work. More great progress. Cheers!
I have been binge watching as I just found your channel. Not only is the work impressive both from your good selves and your artisans on the house but your editing and filming skills have come on in leaps and bounds. Very impressive and a joy to watch. Thank you for sharing.
I started coughing and sneezing just watching those guys cut out the pointing. Wow, talk about grunt work. Kudos to them.
They could definitely have used some sort of vacuum system to suck in all the dust me thinks.
What a transformation. It looks so good with the mortar cut out. Three cheers for the gang working among the muck, wind and rain. They were not faint hearted. 👍
These fellows are sure earning their money. Thank you for sharing this video.
Hard work by these professionals to bring charm an glory back to this Old Station. Result is absolutely amazing. You must be more than satisfied 😊
Waiting for the next episode...
We are really pleased
Amazing that they work rain or shine. I’d hate to be the person that has to wash their work clothes, but they did such a great job.
Bet it clogs the washing machine
Looks great. Fabulous job by the Brickies. Don’t envy them all that grit and wet.
That brick work will look so sharp when it's repointed, those guys are doing a great job
I am stunned by the effort you are willing to put into this, after the last video where you explained all that what will be done. That's not for a small budget. The result, however, will be a gem of a property with no competition. It will look stunning inside and outside. It will be a one of a kind home.
the brickwork looks so different, the guys really did a good job.
We had just the front wall of our sandstock brick house repointed at least 15 years ago and it still looks great. We are in Australia and it was was a bloke from Liverpool in England that did it. That’s amazing! It’s such a skilled job, nice to know it lasts
Those guys did a fantastic job with the brickwork cleaning and cutting out the old mortar, things are coming on great, well done.
They are worth whatever you are paying them, marvelous job.
It takes a special kind of person to do that kind of work. Very labor intense. Very interesting to see how its done.
Watching this sitting on my couch, I am very confident to say: another one bites the dust!
😊
😂
Wow!! Those guys sure worked hard. Tough job but the results are fantastic. Looking so much better already. Can’t wait to see it all done 😊
The beauty of the building starts to shine.
The color of the cleaned brick and limestone is amazing.
Great job the guys doing the cut out on the pointing.
Black mortar would look superb with that brick.......................Can't wait for your next update?
But it won’t be keeping with the original color of the mortar.
`been loving the renovation so far great job, that looked so dusty i mean i work as a finisher and painter so I'm used to getting dusty but that seemed like another level.
It was insane, I was tasting it for days
I could imagine the feel of the grit in my teeth! What a job that is!!! But, it makes a huge difference.
What a horrible dirty job - kudos to them 😊
Looking forward to seeing the pointing done!
What a change in the brickwork and stone. A beautiful building is starting to appear. I so enjoy watching your videos. I am learning so much
Great to see great workers getting stuck in and doing a fab job.❤
So exciting for you! That brick was made so well. The edges are so nice.
Wow that’s a massive job done I can’t wait to see the brick pointing ❤
Brilliant job. Without a doubt, this is the most satisfying and enjoyable restoration on UA-cam. Thank you Laura, Gil, and all your workers. 👏👏👏🧡💚💙
Thank you so much and thank you for watching, we really are grateful! 😊
Wow, looks so much brighter now. Fantastic work these guys did so far and Gil got that roof ivy cleaned off prior to them arriving.
😮😮😮 G'day from Australia 🇦🇺, those guys had their work cut out doing the brickworks. I can't wait for the next video...😊❤❤
H’day and 👋 from south Wales 🏴 😊
My chimney needs this done to it. Wow! What a difference. Cannot wait to see how it looks when it's all finished.
I hate heights and felt instantly dizzy when you climbed those ladders 🤣🤣🤣🤣. What a complete wuss I am. That was a huge job and so laborious. Now it’s all got to be filled in again! It’s going to look great xx

That really is a dirty and dusty job but it will be amazing when it’s re-pointed. The station is starting to shine - well done.

Loved the video this time mostly because it was longer. Nice to see so much work done.
We have a plan, they will be longer from now on 👍
They are doing a great job
It’s like peeling off the layers to show off the true craftsmanship on brickwork. 👍
The amount of dust was unbelievable, but what a brilliant job they have done to the look of the station, cheers.
Wow what a transformation I've watched from the beginning
Wow!! What a marvelous difference!
It looks so much cleaner and brighter already, and when the pointing is done it will be beautiful. So much handwork involved!
Wow! It's almost like I could feel the dust watching your video. Those bricks looks better without the pointing.

A lot of work, but once renovated, it will be a beautiful, unique home.
Smashing effort !!cheerio ❤❤❤❤

I will add this into the video about the pointing for the whole of the brickwork, it’s not done yet so will be a couple of weeks 👍
Wow what a job 😮
Looking fabulous.
Beautiful, just Beautiful 😍
Excellent work. What a difference already!

You can get a dust extractor attachment for the grinder, specially for when raking out mortar. Not sure why they didn't use one.
Im in Canada but i would check in with millwork supply companies, they usually know the best guys for jobs like yours. Like watching, thanks.
Great job. 👍
Job well done❣️
There is a beautiful air brick on the left hand side under the canopy, will you be able to get a matching one for the other side? They did a fab job, it looks better already.😀👍
Your so brave climbing up there lol
That is gonna look so nice! And i have noticed your subscriber number rising!
Not a job I would want, I like my lungs too much. A big step in the process though. I see poor Gill is back on that roof again, another job I wouldn't want. LOL 👍👍👍
Now you can see the brick pattern. It's called English Cross or Dutch bond. Very nice!
Thanks for this! I wondered what the brick pattern was 😊
Were the two guys on the angle grinders called Dusty and Thirsty, by any chance? 8^) Looks like a good job. There's two guys who will appreciate a breezy day to work. More great progress. Cheers!
Looks fantastic when cleaned up!
Are you sure you don’t want glass in the door out to the canopy? It looks very open and welcomly as it is now.
Lookin' good. 😊
