This Powersmart snowblower is fairly nicely equipped. It has 2 reverse speeds, 6 forward speeds, auger control, snow chute direction and angle control, and drive control. The chute is directed by means of a crank lever that is detented, meaning it does not rotate smoothly, but will lock into position and not "walk" out of position. There is a separate lever for the snow chute angle.
This unit features a 212cc 2-cycle OHV gasoline engine, plenty of power for even the deepest snow. It's very unlikely the snow can stall it, and it's nice to have the power you need right "under the hood". The auger and impeller are 2-stage, the auger gathers the snow and the impeller throws it, and it can throw snow up to 40 feet!
Assembly was simple, the manual is well-written and plainly describes each step. I inflated the tires to the proper pressure. The lower handles are attached to the unit by removing the already installed bolts, then attaching using those bolts. The upper handle assembly is attached to that with bolts and nuts. The chute assembly fits into place and is locked down with a bolt and nut. Speed control lever slots into place and is secured with a cotter pin. Cables for auger and drive control have "turnbuckles" on them and can be adjusted with 2 pairs of pliers very easily, I had to adjust mine. Skid shoes are attached with bolts and nuts. The built-in headlight runs on 3 AAA batteries which are included. Add oil (included with this model) and fuel, and it's ready to go.
A nice handle on the pull rope makes rope starting easy. The electric start is a nice touch, provided you have an extension cord handy. Not likely when you're at the far end of your property and run out of fuel. While schlepping the machine is not really a chore, running back out there with a gas can and pulling the rope is far easier. (Although the electric start was not tested in this video, it was tested off camera and works perfectly fine, as expected.) Simple engine controls, all you have are a key, primer bulb, and choke lever. Engine is stopped by removing the key.

Looks like a nice sturdy unit! Much better than the ones that bounce all over the driveway. Perhaps you'll get to use it for real some day!
I remember seeing one of those that bounce all over the driveway. It ran like crap, revved way too high, and the operator needed 4-wheel drive! A real snowblower, like this one is heavy, sturdy, drives nicely, and throws snow into your neighbor's yard with ease. The "bounce all over the driveway" model throws it back in your face!

Funny a new machine, for a snowless South East NY Climate.
La Niña at work. It's been exceptionally mild here, 50 degrees yesterday and again today. Long-range weather forecast doesn't show much more than a dusting to an inch, we might escape this year without anything to have to clean up. Before long, old man winter will be back out it again.

just like the other comment, when i first saw this video in my sub box, for like a minute i thought why is jay uploading a snow blower video its spring time. then i remembered it only january. weird, but here its been mild and mostly rain.
This winter has been extremely mild, for a change. There will be another video on snowblowers on Saturday, which was also a nice day.

While a simple "no" would suffice, I will elaborate by saying that at 15 minutes, this is a _fairly comprehensive review._ I went over practically every nut and bolt of the entire machine. Watch the video in full, and please tell me what I missed.
