    I own the 24" model for over 5 years and really like how dependable the snow blower is. Starts every time with one push on the button and clears very deep snow. I have upgraded to the 26" model with the bigger motor because my driveway is 75 feet long. Very nice review.

    Great video tutorial.
    My old company has one.
    Works pretty good.
    Had it delivered from Menard's and the delivery person just dropped it in front of the company doorway and not contact anyone it arrived...very bad.
    Assembling it took almost the same time as you did-have the right tools to make the work easier.
    But was worth the cost and probably better than the higher priced ones.

    No need for one here in Atlanta, but it almost, almost made me wish for a foot or two just to be able to use a blower. Looks like a wonderful product, and very user-friendly. Which for those of us who do not have someone around to help, would make it a must buy. Thank you for sharing. And getting your followers that discount. Stay safe.

    There is one serious issue with Powersmart. They are near impossible to get parts for, so if anything on the machine breaks you are out of luck. Most repair shops don’t do work on these things outside of standard maintenance and customer support is really bad. So if anyone wishes to own one, be sure to keep it serviced and don’t push it beyond the limits.

      Hey just went through this purchased from home depot last year. Had hot start issues hand warmers barely worked and friction wheel blew up. Couldn’t get ahold of PowerSmart at all! They replaced my entire unit free of charge. You get what you paid for and I definitely will never buy from PowerSmart again my Home Depot said they are no longer going to be carrying this brand.

    Just got our 12
    Month old, 1 season, blower out of the shed to make sure every thing is ready for winter.
    One of the tyres was flat, cut the story short, took of the tyre for repair, very disappointed to find that ether the retailer Homedepot or supplier had used slime to stop a leak, for those who have never used it, its a temporary fix on punctures, and you must clean it out at first opportunity. The damage to the wheel is unbelievable. Took some time to clean most of the stuff out of the rim and tyre, repaired the tire and refitted.
    Hope the rest of the machine gets us through this winter.
    EDIT. ours was not boxed, it came assembled on a pallet

    I just got mine today and had to find an instructional video to see someone put it together after I reached a spreed bump! Had it all assembled except I could not attach the speed control connection rod! The pins would not get through the holes of the rod at their connection points? I thought it was crazy. It looks like you're using the same kind of pin but I cant get mine through. Very frustrating! I could run down to Home Depot and find pins that will work but in the mean time I've reached out to the Amazon seller. Hopefully, this will be the only problem I have with the product. Great Video though and Enjoy yours!

    I've owned just about every snowblower known to man and for the average domestic user a snowblower is a snowblower is a snowblower but if you are really into these things you need to start talking friction disc transmission versus cheap assed plastic box transmission, ease of serviceability , ease of parts sourcing and impeller to housing gap. Yes these economical chinese snowblowers will do most folks with a small to light moderate driveway with litle to no gravel, but when push comes to shove and you're up against heavy snow 18 inches plus I'm puting my eggs in the cub cadet, Husqvarna, toro, troy built or honda basket. I do realize not everyone has 2k to plunk down on a snowblower so these chinese units definitely have a valid and needed place in the market. Clean it off after every use, plaster the entire machine in fluid film after use, keep the tank full of gas with some methyl hydrate added and use yamalube fuel conditioner and you'll be golden. Source out 2 new belts and many shear-pins too as soon as you buy your new snowblower and repeat after me "I SWEAR TO NEVER USE A CONVENTIONAL BOLT IN PLACE OF A SHEAR PIN EVER!!!!" and again your economical chinese snowblower will serve you just as well as my 3k Husqvarna....

    Ordered the 26" one today at the pro desk in Home Depot, $630 with 10% military discount and free next day home delivery. Hoping it's a good machine, all other comparable 26" models are $800-900. I've had their $199 lawn mower with bagger for 2 years and it works great, has features of a $300 push mower.

  • @mattdudley3789
    @mattdudley3789 3 роки тому +2

    I have this model, bought new at Home Depot for $412 on a closeout a month or so ago. Worked great for 2 snowfalls but third snowfall was about 30" but light and fluffy snow and it fried the auger belt. I bought a 4L340 fractional hp belt to replace the 4L885 which is about .9" shorter but have yet to try it... I keep this at a nearby property I have, but have an older Snowtek 24E at my house, and the snowtek had zero problems with the 30" of snow.. When the Powersmart was operational, it was pretty impressive for a $400 unit, but the Snowtek was only $700 new which is still cheap considering.

I do have a PROBLEM with their Customer Service I tried to get in touch with them. I was on HOLD the first time for 23 minutes . I hung up and tried again and was on HOLD for 36 minutes....all I heard both times was music and the second time on a few occasions the phone did ring but, than went back to the music, Had I known theri Customer Service was this BAD, I would have NEVER spent the $$... I don’t know exactly why it happens but if you just try to push the snowblower a little bit while it is in gear it will give it a little boost and should kick into gear. Hopefully this one is light enough that you are able to roll it a bit. I hope this helps.

    Auger housing is super flimsy on mine. Had to reinforce it with a 1x3 piece of wood. Very cheap..

      Please don't. I have had to repair mine every year since I got it. Belts and friction discs every year. The motor runs great but now I'm looking at Honda or ariens machines.

    I just. Noticed 2 holes under the machine that seems to be leaking oil. Is that normal.

    I got this snowblower a few days ago. It included a package of 4 1.5” bolts with nuts. I can’t find what they’re for in the set up instructions and I didn’t see you use them in the video. Am I missing a step? Thanks

    • @TheFixerHomeRepair
      @TheFixerHomeRepair  3 роки тому

      Hey, Andrew. Those are probably the extra shear pins they supply. Sometimes on snowblowers you might catch something in the auger that is harder than snow and snowblowers have shear pins that are designed to break to avoid damaging other major parts. If you look at the front auger you will see some bolt heads going through the roll bar, those are where the shear pins are replaced. So you are not missing anything, you just have those in case you break the others which is nice that you will have them on hand and not have to run out to the store to grab new ones if they ever do break. Let me know how you like the snowblower. Thanks for watching!

      @@TheFixerHomeRepair thanks for the education. Nothing Like the feeling you get when you assemble something and have unexplained parts left over. I’m eagerLay waiting for snow. Been a light year so far and I’m looking forward to breaking this in.

    I bought one and the manual says the oil capacity is 16oz, I noticed the oil was too low I had to add more to aprox 20oz. The only difference is that mine is 26" the rest is identical.
