Thanks, this was very helpful when making sure I was using the choke properly to start a cold engine. Cranking it with intermittent results was frustrating. Haha
i have a snow blower same brand but no reverse or headlights. today i used it but when i moved the choke switch to run the engine would stop. i tried to warm up the engine and it did not help, i have to snow blow the driveway with the choke on. any tips or help on this problem? ive been using the blower for 4 years and i got this problem today.
what is that yellow plastic screw that can be unscrew with your fingers located bottom side of the engine? the diameter of the hole when you remove the plastic screw is about 3/4 of an inch. the snow blower was given to me and very similar to this one.
Ty great video Question I hv same machine ur showing in video, the key if it fits in the machine it’s the right key right? If it was a diff key would it still fit in the key section of machine… I just don’t know if it’s the key or wht the problem is, mach won’t turn ovr Any advice plc tht would help me ty
The stop switch could be bad. If you have a multimeter, you can check for continuity through the switch with the key inserted. The meter should measure near 0 ohms of resistance through the switch with the key inserted. If the stop switch is bad, replace it. Here's a link for a guide/video that shows how to replace the switch: www.searspartsdirect.com/diy/repair-guide/how-to-replace-a-snowblower-stop-switch
No. You’ll need to turn the choke on to start the snowblower then turn the choke off once the engine is running. The choke restricts air flow through the carburetor to provide a richer fuel mixture for starting the engine.
Craftsman uses the 208 cc engine on several different models of snowblowers with various controls. If your controls don’t match the ones in the video, we recommend that you use the instructions in your owner’s manual. If you don’t have your owner’s manual, key in your model number to our Owner’s Manual Search Tool to find the manual: www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/user-manuals . If you can’t find the manual or need more help, let us know.
they should have a switch for turning on/off light and a key start engine instead of pulling and yanking and priming the thing wich kubota engines doesnt have that stuff that wich no messing around turn the key and go wich be nice and a pto switch is nice tfor on and off the auger instead the cheesey cabbles that get frozen and stuck
Try replacing the spark plug. Also, drain the gas tank and fill the tank with fresh fuel. Run the engine for a while to use up any old fuel in the carburetor bowl. The engine may run smoothly when not under a load after taking those steps. If you need more help, let us know (and give us the model number of your snowblower so we can know the type that you have).
Mine too. Carb was perfectly clean, no gumminess or plugs. Snowblower will not shut off when lever id moved to the far right, l need to take the key out to make it stop.
If the "Drive Belt" is broken, your snow blower won't able to move forward and/or reverse. But ! In this case, your Auger Assy still functioning okay. Inspect your Speed Selections Cable, if it okay to your eyes. Check your Drive Belt. I believe your Drive Belt is broken. Great lucks.
If the snowblower is brand new and still under warranty, follow the troubleshooting steps in the owner’s manual. If you don’t have the owner’s manual available, you can likely find an online version of the owner’s manual here: www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/user-manuals#. Call for warranty service if you can’t get the snowblower going using the troubleshooting tips in the owner’s manual. If the snowblower isn’t under warranty, check the drive belt as suggested by Raymond Phan. Replace the drive belt if broken. If the drive belt is okay, you may need to adjust the drive control as shown in this video: www.searspartsdirect.com/article/how-to-adjust-a-snowblower-drive-control-video.html. If you need more help, update us with more details based on our suggested troubleshooting and include the model number of your snowblower.
That's a classic symptom of a carb that is clogged. If it sat all summer with gas in it this can happen. Give it a good cleaning and it'll run like new.
Terrell Latham take apart remove the jet clean it spray carb cleaner in all the orifices blow out with compressor put back together check the tank and drain if dirty gas goes bad now in 3 to 4 weeks use high test and a good stabilizer I use the new one for Marine. this new gas has tooo much water in it for these motors My blower was a yr old when Mine acted up they don’t build them like they use to
Thank you SO much for this. One 6-minute UA-cam video was more useful than the entire indecipherable 40-page manual Cub Cadet provided.
Am I the only one who has to refer to this video every other year! Lol
Thanks again I’ll be back I’m sure!
Ayooo me and my mom didn’t know how to operate ours and you just saved us 6 hours of shoveling. Thanks dude!
Thank you! Got a foot and a half coming tomorrow and I need it to run smooth.
I enjoyed this basic operation of a snow thrower

When do you use fast/ slow? Do you prime with electric start?

The plastic threaded plug you are referring to is used as a fill port and to check oil level on some models. But this snowblower uses a dipstick.
Ty great video

Clear directions! Thank you... especially the choke and throttle explanation.
Reverse on a snow blower is like going back in time .
which means no snow to move…job done!
great video, i was confused about choke on my snowblower, i assume its same for all of them? turn choke off before starting and then on once started?
No. You’ll need to turn the choke on to start the snowblower then turn the choke off once the engine is running. The choke restricts air flow through the carburetor to provide a richer fuel mixture for starting the engine.
I have a Sears Craftsman 208 cc, will these instruction work for it also.

We're.l can hay the key to start the Machen
I don't have a choke knob. Then what?
Why do I want to have the engine run faster or slower? That’s not the same as 1st gear vs 5th.
Mine surges when not under load, but smooths out when under load. I cleaned the carb and still the same thing.

Sears PartsDirect I’ve cleaned the carb and gas tank. I put 93 octane fuel in the tank and it still does it.
Sears PartsDirect I’ll get the model number then as well

I used mine twice and now i have no forwaed and reverse can someone help with any adjustments i need to make

I want to know how come it will not run in the throttle position only in choke position.

Can. I. Use. Sae10w40. Motor. Oil. On. Snow. Blower
We recommend that you use SAE 5W-30 motor oil because it works best in 40 degree weather and below.
dAM THATS ONE FINE SNOWBLOWER fucking steering box and electric thrower crazy
