We try our best to stay positive, but believe me, we have moments when we lose it just like everyone else. When we get angry or frustrated, it doesn't make the situation any easier to deal with. You're right. I love shrimp trawling and look forward to going. It has become my favorite thing to do out on the water. It's nice when we actually make a few dollars doing what we love. I must say you guys really makeShrimping lots of fun. I did it 30 years ago on a big boat 73' footer. So, the things you guys are going through, I had that times 20 but I still enjoy. Keep making the best of it and inspiring people with your motivational talks.. Just as it was said earlier somebody is having it worse than you are. Blessed you!
We love hearing from you guys who know what it's like to battle things in life. I bet you can tell some great stories of the things you went through on the water. The bigger the boat, the bigger the catch to deal with and bigger problems.
Absolutely! Many stories… Just thinking about your tow cable breaking today. Not very fun when you have a double rig 4 45 foot next wrapped up like what you had. Main cable breaking creating havoc. Having to go on anchor And watch the other boats dragging around you catching shrimp. Most of the time the bigger the boat the bigger catch… It's not always that way. But the overhead costs are always. All the best!

Down here in mississippi im starting to see many shrimp boats tied up and not dragging due to the fact that states are bringing in import shrimp at a cheaper price . Imagine that . Get the fuel cost back down so more boats can go back to work and enjoy fresh product like you guys can still produce . Thanks for the ride .

For breaking the cable that last pull was nice so at least you caught a few before going in good videos keep em coming
Thanks, man. I sure hated we broke the cable and had so much trouble on this trip. I'd rather deal with things like we encountered than see someone aboard get hurt. With that being said, we had a good day. I'm going to try using a 1/2 inch steel cable for our bridle. It's a piece off of a 13000 pound trailer winch.

Yep I am to the age I can’t do some things anymore. I have always said I wish when I was little I had learned to throw a shrimp net. I guess watching a boat trawl for shrimp is a good second so thanks for taking us with you. It is interesting. Boy those birds are vicious opportunists stealing your catch.
The laughing gulls and dolphin follow us all day for free meals. They're smart.

Just one of those typical trawlin days, Things will go wrong on a boat, After 47 yrs. of trawlin right there, I learned the hard way too!! Keep up the great video,s an havin fun!!!

Stuff gonna happen it's just how it goes sometimes. I enjoy watching. And your not suppose to leave a stranded boater alway's help anyone that needs it because you could maybe be in that same situation. I love the ocean its been a couple year's now that I have not been to the beach cause of health reason's. My mom and I w my kids use to come camp at Huntington State Park loved every minute of it sure do miss doing that. Seem's like everything stopped when my died.
Hopefully, you'll be able to get to the beach soon. We're always to hear others enjoying our videos.

Not that I know better but I find using a 12” screwdriver on the sorting table sure makes sorting faster.

If you did not ‘ Record/mark’ the bottom obstruction w/GPS….very wise to start doing so-So as to protect your equipment and save money so as to stop expenses on unexpected repairs of net and/or boards…ALSO SAFETY TO YOURSELVES AND YOUR BELOVED BOAT!
You're right. We know where several hangs are in this area, and we learned them the hard way. I'm always worried about someone getting hurt while they're aboard our boat.

It just depends. We are local in the Beaufort area & we travel inland SC fairly often. We usually set up a location to meet depending on the location you would be coming from and the areas we are traveling through. Can you eat a mantis shrimp ?
Yes, people eat the mantis shrimp. We have eaten a few, and they taste like the other shrimp, but they're a little tougher. They're a lot harder to peel. The small ones we catch really aren't worth the effort. I see guys catching big ones in Florida, and I think they'd be worth the effort.
