You’re welcome. Shrimpers work hard to provide wild caught shrimp to the public. We are trying to encourage others to make sure they're buying wild caught shrimp to help support a dying breed of hard-working guys.
We love trawling but it's tough work. Hours go into getting everything ready and there's work to do when we get back home. We have to clean the boat, net, and take care of our catch. Shrimping ain't easy.
It’s so amazing at how much work goes into it! And it was an adventure for me seeing those beautiful dolphins!! Thank you for sharing!! As always, keep on keeping on!!!
Thank you for sharing your REAL ADVENTURES, really enjoy getting to feel like I get to go on these adventures that I would never do in real life. Again thank y’all and your friends for sharing.
Man! You two have 'The Life'. I can't think of anything I rather do than be out on the ocean. I grew up ocean sailing, surfing, body surfing, fishing, scuba diving, shell collecting, etc. As long as the daily activities evolved around or on the ocean. Now, I live vicariously thru you. Can't wait to see your haul. From, a landlocked Surfer Girl. ❤
You're right, we definitely wouldn't have been able to pull that last bag in without the winch. We sorted more shrimp out of that mess than we caught in the 1st pull. Ended up with around 200 lbs. of shrimp. Not bad for us.
It's me Vincent i tell you what i do catch them when everything works right that's a big net y'all pulling and they do get twisted and you don't know it until you pull it up good video You right shrimping ain't easy!
What a great way to wake up this morning. I love the rough waves as well as the smooth. I put myself on the boat and enjoyed. Thank God for all of you. You bring such joy to us. Thank you so much ❤
LOL! I've been telling everyone shrimping ain't easy. Always buy wild caught shrimp to help out all the guys that are working hard to catch them. Thanks for watching and leaving us a comment. Take care.
Loved this and your crabbing video!! I live in Central WV and love to visit the ocean and i could live on seafood!!!..... i definitely should move south....lol
Hey Steph, The Intercoastal Harvester,s gotta 335 hp. Cummins Deisel in her. Very powerful lil boat an she catches really good too!! Yall have fun as usual, Lookin good!!!
You guys need to pick up some wireless mics to rid the wind and engine sounds. You know it's easier to buy jelly at the store than trying to catch it in the ocean! 😆
I would give anything to come show you something on this boat that would make your life easier yall did great just a few tricks I been shrimping out of Cameron LA for 30 years
I've (Oliver) have only shrimped out of this boat twice. It's my buddies boat, and I think he's ready to sell it. It's too much for him and his wife to handle. I know know you guys, with more experience, could handle it with ease. They normally trawl with a smaller boat, and they thought this boat would make things easier.
@SaltyReflections no buddy you can Handel it to just a few tricks like the cabel block when you pick it back up run it under the pin rail so when you get it up you can tie it off and get it off the cat head but yall killed it it I will say for only your second time love watching you and your wife
@@rosssmith3115 Thanks so much. I think my buddy is going to sell this boat soon. My wife and I have been trawling with our 25" Parker twice in the last 3 days and we've caught over 400 lbs. of shrimp. We haven't videoed any of it. We don't use a big trawl winch like the one on our buddy's boat. We've been too busy sorting out cannonball jellyfish to video. LOL! We've had hundreds of lbs. of them in each pull. Shrimping ain't easy.
@@rosssmith3115they won’t listen. A shooter would blow them cannonballs and a try net would save them and make their lives a whole lot easier. But they won’t listen to anything you try and tell them.
We do use a TED/shooter but unfortunately these cannonballs we've had the last several weeks aren't but about baseball size at the largest & down to about dime size 😵💫 so they are going straight through instead of shooting out like the big ones do. The majority of the big boats haven't even been trawling in our area lately due to all the jelly! 🪼 Even way up into our rivers all the way to miles offshore are full of jelly right now. None of the single trawl trawlers here in this area use a try net. We are only shrimping for the fun of it & can't handle trying to get rid of but so much shrimp already. That's where we really need the help! 😆 Either of you know any buyers you could send our way? 🤷🏼♀️
Diesel Engines don’t bother me. I’m use to them living on Farm/Ranch everything we have with an engine is diesel, tractors, trucks and pick ups. So sounds like purring to me. We like those Cummings Engines.
It's the perfect name for a boat harvesting its catch from the sea. I love watching videos, guys, make out harvesting lobster. Looks like it would be very interesting and tough work.
WORKING HARD: use cathead to pull in the tail rope to the block. ANOTHER snatch block for a SECOND choke line and lift bag over the fantail. Blocks are TOOO LOW!!! Extremely “lucky” catching what you do WITHOUT using a try net!!!!!!!!!!!
@@SaltyReflections we visit annually and tend to pick up shrimp there. Do you sell the shrimp you catch in the area? Now Im craving a shrimp burger from the shrimp shack
We sell the shrimp we catch personally locally. If interested, feel free to contact us at SaltyReflectionsBSC@gmail.com or Salty Reflections on Facebook. These shrimp are delicious! 😋🦐

I'm a complainer too. LOL. We only made two pulls this day and that's what we showed you guys. I'm proud to say that we sorted out 200 lbs. of shrimp from all that mess. Shrimping is tough in our area right now due to all the cannonball jellyfish. They're just small enough to get through the excluder. Steph and I have been back shrimping a couple of times since this trip, but we didn't have time to video any of it. We're able to video more content to share when we're on a boat with more help. Take care of yourself and try relaxing a little bit.
If you wouldn’t have walked off while guiding the cable the doors would’ve come up even. Pop the boat out of gear before you pick up. Pick up the drop block tie it off on the pin rail. Pop it back in gear start picking up on the winch. Make a small boom to pick up the bag with. Nevermind. Y’all work way to hard. There’s a point to where it’s not fun when you got to work like that. Luckily y’all haven’t hung up. Y’all would really be in a bind.
Thanks for all the info. The boat was stuck in forward. It's tough dealing with old equipment. This was our second time ever trawling using this boat. Now, my buddy has decided to sell it. My wife and I will be back out trawling on our 25' Parker. We've been hung up in the past. It's not a fun situation to deal with. Luckily, we've always been able to retrieve all of our gear. I ❤️ 🍤 trawling. The freedom I feel out on the water makes all the hard work worth it.

Pick your block up by hand when you’re pulling the net it. Will will be easier to pull in at that point while the load isn’t on it.
Thanks for the advice. We'll have to put the boat in natural to do that, I'm assuming.

Gotta pull at 3 knots best speed for big shrimp starts to make a suction in front the trawl
