I met you and shook your hand Mr Patel , back in 1995 or 1996 in my local cigar store in Connecticut, USA. You were promoting your brand and offering buy 1 or 2 (I can't remember?) and get one free. I picked up a few and enjoyed them. You could tell you had a passion and love for cigars. I am very happy things worked out for you and you are living your dream today. Fellow cigar smokers, this man is the real deal. It's been twenty plus years since he earned his way - the hard way, by going door to door, pounding the pavement and winning over cigar smokers with his energy, gracious demeanor and his passion and love for a wonderful product we all know today. Indian Tabac is no more, but in its place we have so many fantastic cigars by Rocky Patel. The awesome Decade and Royale, Fifty-Five, Sun grown, Vintage lines, super Ligero, Edge, Anniversary, etc, etc,..... Way to go !!!
Indeed. My wife and I just ordered Panama Hats Direct. They are a 100% handmade product as well, and a lot of hands touch the product before it gets to the eventual wearer. Same deal. After watching their video, you not only understand why they cost what they do, you want to support the people who make them. It's always nice to connect with the things we use, wear, and smoke. It makes you feel like part of a larger community of people who share your passions.

Alright, I have watched this video a third time. I love to listen to Rocky's passion about the cigar he sells. I understand now why cigars are rather expensive. Love this video!
The first premium cigar I ever smoked was RP Vintage 92, and knew instantly I was hooked. For my wedding day my wife bought me and the boys a half box of 92’s and it made the day that much better. I have smoked a lot of different brands, sizes and shapes but always find myself going back to a RP. After watching this video it makes me appreciate them that much more. I love to see someone so passionate about something they truly believe in. Thank you sir and your team for putting so much time, passion and care into each stick that I have enjoyed.
"Healthy nursery, healthy farm" just like life should be, your health, your family, your relationships, your job, your passions need care...300 hands and a whole lot of heart, all takeaways we can learn from... Thank you Rocky !!
My first Rocky Patel cigar was the Edge Maduro and I was very surprised how enjoyable it was. I’m also a fan of the Edge Habano. I’ve tried so many RP cigars but I keep going back to the Decade again and again, it’s a favorite of mine. I like the Patel’s enthusiasm and dedication toward fighting anti-cigar legislation.
Very well made video. I knew a lot went into a fine cigar, but not this much! Learned a lot about them! Thanks, for the great video and great cigars too!
I seriously enjoy watching this video so much, I think I actually come back and watch it every couple of months. I love listening to the process behind these beautiful cigars.
Your passion for the plant and the process has delivered!.. Pleasure to take the tour. Thank you Rocky and all involved for bringing us your consistently outstanding blends.
Have watched this vid a bunch of times and each time I love it as if it is the first. Patel, I love your passion and love your cigars. Thanks for all you do for the industry. Salute.
Love seeing how one of my favorite cigars is made. A big thank you to Rocky Patel and everyone who put so much time, effort and passion into a great cigar
Love this video from the factory. The passionate approach of each member of the factory is well displayed. They all shine at what they do and it reflects in the product. Thanks for making wonderful cigars that I have truly enjoyed time and time again.

My husband and I just started our cigar journey and really wondered how cigars were rolled in order to learn to appreciate this new experience. We discovered this video and truly enjoyed it. This 30 min video has added 100 fold to our appreciation. We discovered the love and labor to bring that cigar into our back yard and in our hands. We are headed out to have our smoke and will ponder upon the people, the process and the love that it took to get this marvelous experience. Thank you
Your passion for cigars is very evident in the delivery of this video. I had no idea cigars were so labor intensive and time consuming. This video was not only interesting but very informative. Now I have to try your beautiful cigars. It worked! Thanks for sharing.
I've smoked a massive amount of Rocky Patels. So consistent. That's the mark of an excellent cigar in my book. But I had no idea that this much work went into the process
A great video, very informative. Making premium cigars is truly a work of art. Making a Rocky Patel is a masterpiece of craftsmanship and care. I never complain about the cost of a premium cigar again.
I've smoked cigars since I was 22, I'm 55 now and had to give up smoking due to heath reasons, but I made a pact with my son that if I make it to 70, I can smoke cigars again! I'm counting the days!
Congratulations on establishing a successful family business based on pride, hard work and high standards. Thanks for sharing this video. Continued success!
I love my cigars, this is the best video of cigar making I've seen. Makes my appreciation of making cigars even better. I can't say enough of this great video. Thank you so very much
This was an AMAZING video! Informative, interesting and educational. Surprised just how much work and quality control goes into RP cigars. How can anybody dislike this video?!
They've disliked it because it's complete bullshit. If you've /ever/ worked in manufacturing of any sort you'd see how fake this is in the first 5 seconds.
I have watched this video about 4 times and I enjoy watching the process and the beauty of making a great stogie. Honestly, I love Rocky Patel’s, they never fail!
The very best video on cigar production. From seed to shop, you get to see and learn the whole process in making a premium hand made cigar. This video, hosted by, none other than Rocky Patel himself. Very instructional, and for anyone who enjoys the pleasure of smoking a premium hand made cigar, this video is a must. And remember, "When you say no to Cigars, you say no to Life".
Fantastic video........I can see and hear the great passion that Rocky has for his business and producing a high quality product. I love Rocky Patel cigars !
I appreciate this video I love to nerd out on my hobbies. I have my sight on being a regular customer of Rocky Patel. And much respect for the standard of product. Only 50 to 45 percent make it in, amazing. Thank you Mr. Patel.
I never realized there was so much involved with creating cigars! It is really a science in itself, and this man is obviously well-acquainted with the whole process and the technology involved. I think I would volunteer to work there for a while just to learn, if I could. Pasame una!
I didn't have a clue that this much work went into every RP cigar. I have been a RP fan for years and knew the first time I smoked a box press cigar that I liked it a lot lol. Now I know how and why things are what they are. I am impressed with the fact that every thing is done by hand. They look and smoke like a machine manufactured cigar, but I now know its all hand made. great job folks - - I think I will smoke one now and I fully expect it to be twice as good as before.

I(17) ordered one with my mothers help for a friend who turns 18 on Saturday(thats the legal age to smoke here in Germany), and damn, now I want one too tbh😂
I just got done watching your tour, that was incredible, I just bought your sampler pack of the edge today and I can’t wait to smoke one tomorrow, this was an incredible video and your employees are so devoted to making such a fabulous cigar, I am super impressed .....thank you for what you do!
What an awesome video by the cigar maestro himself. Was actually hoping to see Rosa hand roll a maduro torpedo on her thigh, but they no longer do that anymore. Bought my first batch of Rocky Patel's Vintage 1990 in January 2011 of which I have set aside 5 of the most beautiful boxed 7 inchers in my 250ct humidor which smells wonderful when I open its glass door. There is nothing compared to it. And for the idiot below that thinks RP uses a dye to color the wrapper leave, "are you FUCKING crazy?" Doing crap like that is how you commit business suicide. Get it? RPs cigars retail on average around $10 each. Some sell for less and some sell for a lot more. You may be buying machine rolled cigars coming out of China but that is your problem, not ours. Semper Fi
I smoked first was ROCKY PATEL ( trust me I tasted correctly the cigar) None gave me that satisfaction ever So till now didn't smoked any thing (In India it's hard and costly got a chance of this master piece , luckily from a friend of mine I got a chance 5 sticks n really enjoyed it )
I have 3 sizes of Decade's in my humidor. I got them on order from cigar stores that will ship to Canada. One is from Atlantic that was in their top 10 selling cigar list and the other two came with the cigar obsession sampler selections I ordered from Atlantic and Smoke Inn web site. I usually order sampler kits that come from different makers because I do not want the same cigar every time. After I receive them I store them in my humidor for at least 7 to 8 weeks before I spark one up. After watching this video I can not wait to light one of them. I also have a few RP royale's
Kelly L. I have recently found this out. After having a Rocky Patel 50 and then a Rocky Patel A.R 2 year aged I’m finding it hard pressed to find the “cheaper” ones I enjoyed flavorful.
V P I understand they make lower end sticks but they make damn good cigars too! The royale and the decade. The XX year aniversario is great as well. I find it hard to believe that you think this way. Maybe you left the cigars in the garage for a month and smoked them dry.
Great video. I have always loved Rocky Patel cigars and now I loved them more. I enjoyed the factory tour. Rocky Patel has a great personality and I am impressed with his passion to his wonderful business of cigar making....
One of the best cigars you can buy. I love Arturo Fuente, but Rocky Patel is right up there. In fact, his maduro is probably better than the ones by Fuente. "The gods do not subtract from the lives of men, the hours spent in smoking good cigars."
Yeah I wouldn't even mention patel in the same sentence as Fuente. patel grows no tobacco and has only been around since right before the boom in the late 90's. I'll check back in 75 years and see if they are still in business.
jfq722 Upon further reflection, you're probably right. I've been rolling my own cigars lately and it sure has changed my opinion about a lot of things.
This was an absolutely awesome video right there! You, senor Patel, should be so proud of your life's work and humbled to be given the opportunity to share it with all of us. I am a die-hard pipe tobacco man, but after watching this, I am now heading straight over to pipes&cigars to order some of those beautifully handcrafted Rocky Patels. Thank you for your blatantly apparent adherence to nothing short of the most impeccable standards. Loving tobacco as much as I do, I know I would be a fool to not order some of your fine product right now! Good day senor and best of smokes to you.
Beautifully done. I learned a lot and enjoyed it. My first cigar was two months ago: a dark dominion. Since then, I have smoked three other Rocky Patels. I see no reason to purchase beyond your variety. As a 50 year old female, it has taken me many years to be bold and try cigars. I believe more women should step up and learn to benefit from occasional cigar smoking. Thank you for amazing product and for making this video
Another little secret in this process is the final color stabilization area - not shown in this video. If anyone wonders how they get the consistent coloration in a box of fine cigars, we have to go to the rectal injection curing room. It is in this room where the cigars are given their final flavor and coloration treatment as they are inserted in the rectums of specially bred and fed sheep. The cigars are left in the sheep rectums for a period of five days where they are infused with specific colors and surface flavoring custom tailored to each box and product line. This consistency is ensured through the breeding and feeding of the receptor sheep. Once this final process is completed, the human ejection professionals will carefully remove the cigars from the sheep rectums using the paper ring method. Very few people understand this is why the cigars have the paper ring - it is used as sort of a toilet paper to protect the hands of the ejection professional. Cigar diameter sizes are actually graded based on the rectal cavity of the receiver sheep - as "grosso, middo, and pequeno"
I just bought a case of Rocky Patel Cigars (The Edge, amazing value), and I am delighted to see the guy who put all this together is so involved in the business. Rocky you've got a customer for life.
I can really appreciate Rocky Patel's very inspiriing love, pride, the knowlege, the science, the traditions, the innovations and the people involved...what an operation and beautifully explained !! An excellent and consistent product...fire it up Rocky !!
if u guys think cuban tobacco is good then u guys should try vietnamese tobacco is the most strongest tobacco in the world and it can get u high but they haven't turn it into cigar though, it's 10 times stronger than weed and 5 times stronger than cocaine
Thank you for making a Beautiful cigar . You have one of the best cigars I have ever smoked. The dream came true and your the best sir best wishes from Tennessee.
One can be a cigar connoisseur and still smoke cigarettes. One is for occasional enjoyment and the other is for regular nicotine. Kind of like how someone can enjoy a really nice expensive scotch or premium wine but still drink Coors light.
Rocky has never been one of my favorite cigars, but this vid will make me revisit a couple of theirs to see if I want to include them. Excellent presentation and info!
Very interesting and thorough tour/walk-through. I haven't tried a rocky patel that I've liked, but you certainly have to respect what he's doing for quality control.

Semper Fi
I smoked first was ROCKY PATEL ( trust me I tasted correctly the cigar)
None gave me that satisfaction ever
So till now didn't smoked any thing
(In India it's hard and costly got a chance of this master piece , luckily from a friend of mine I got a chance 5 sticks n really enjoyed it )
So how much does it cost in India
Nouman fastbowler 1500-2500 a stick
@@ghplayer1992 I got it from my friend who visited US
Great production. Really shows the time and effort of so many people needed to make something so easy to enjoy...Will be buying some more Rocky Patels
Warning to newbies: once you've had quality cigars, it's impossible to go back to the cheap stuff. It can be costly ...
V P and then after all that you throw out Romeo Y Julieta? I can only stand two or three of their lines of sticks.
V P try the Oliva melanio! It’s one of my favorite sticks that isn’t a Maduro.
V P we all have different likes but they’re upper end stuff is FAR from cheap. And I like a broad range from Oliva to my father to padrón.
That is crazy this guy has a lounge here in naples fl at the mercato shoppes. Sells them there too
Love the amount of quality control RP puts their cigars through!!
This reasoning fails in craft beer, and it fails in cigars as well. It goes great with peasantry though.
does somebody salivate when ther roll a cigar? hahaha just me
This was an absolutely awesome video right there!
I. get a creepy feeling that this guy owns those people
Those people are happy to work for this guy.
Working at a cigar manufacture is one of the best jobs you can get in these countries.
Facts don't care about your feelings.
OH NO a SJW!
he gives those people jobs and puts food on there table
I just bought a case of Rocky Patel Cigars (The Edge, amazing value), and I am delighted to see the guy who put all this together is so involved in the business.
Rocky you've got a customer for life.
I can really appreciate Rocky Patel's very inspiriing love, pride, the knowlege, the science, the traditions, the innovations and the people involved...what an operation and beautifully explained !! An excellent and consistent product...fire it up Rocky !!
ur cigars are now available in india..they are really bang for the buck unlike cubans..
They not that good as Padron's or Cohiba's
+Marge Arriola padron is in top 3 brands
if u guys think cuban tobacco is good then u guys should try vietnamese tobacco is the most strongest tobacco in the world and it can get u high but they haven't turn it into cigar though, it's 10 times stronger than weed and 5 times stronger than cocaine
Marge Arriola I disagree
Herb Toker vietnamese tobacco actually can knock u out
22:20 now he got his saliva on one of the wrappers
Yah, but it's Rocky Patel saliva! BONUS!!! Separate label, twice the price!
Anything done with passion like this has to be great.... I only recently discovered Rocky Patel and they’ve quickly became one of my favorites.
Thank you for making a Beautiful cigar . You have one of the best cigars I have ever smoked. The dream came true and your the best sir best wishes from Tennessee.
23:55 and your employee still smoking a "Dunhill"
One can be a cigar connoisseur and still smoke cigarettes. One is for occasional enjoyment and the other is for regular nicotine. Kind of like how someone can enjoy a really nice expensive scotch or premium wine but still drink Coors light.
Beautifull tabacoo do you know what is more beautifull cancer🙃
This was amazing to watch. Really helps you to appreciate what goes into making these.
Rocky has never been one of my favorite cigars, but this vid will make me revisit a couple of theirs to see if I want to include them.
Excellent presentation and info!
"This is where the babies sleep. And after 6 months we pack them for your enjoyment."
Dude... wtf?
don't take it too literally pal
This is amazing content. Arguably one of the best cigar related videos I've seen, and I've seen a huge chunk of the good content on youtube
Excellent video and Rocky knows his stuff. He was very detailed and one can see the passion he has. Definitely buying his cigars.
What passion it takes to make these beautifully delicious and gorgeous cigars. Great video. I had no idea.
i now have a new appreciation for cigars and cigar making, thank you for the very informative video
What a great video. Love the level of detail on the explanations about the parts of the plants etc.
Very interesting and thorough tour/walk-through. I haven't tried a rocky patel that I've liked, but you certainly have to respect what he's doing for quality control.
Very nice video. Shows how truly Rocky Patel cares about his cigars
