Looks like a good day of fishing. A couple of tips when releasing fish. There is no need to squeeze them or make them fight your grip to release; you're wiping off their protective coating. Also no need to move them back and forth in the water as fish don't swim (or breathe) backwards. Just face them into the current, supporting them with an open hand and let them swim away when they're ready. Regards.

Nicely done! It's really cool to see other kids my age out fishing, perhaps there still is hope for humankind...
And god damn are those colors making me miss mountains..

Gents - heading Wilson Creek midweek to show a Floridian North Carolina trout-fishing. What section of the Wilson do you recommend? The section you fished on the video?

I would reccommend fishing the delayed harvest section. Look up "Betsey's ole country store" on google maps and that is a killer section right near betseys and below betseys there are two pull offs one is the pull off near the bridge and the other is below the bridge with a bunch of broken down walls. I reccommend under the bridge and anything below that is killer. Also the second pull off has many trails leading to the river and any where near there is good too. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Personally, I would recommend fishing only wild trout. Brook trout in particular. If you need bigger fish, fish wild rainbows and browns but don't go to the stocked waters. Don't disgrace yourself with hatchery fish.

Don't be such an a___hole. The kids are fishing and having fun. Catching hatchery or wild trout is not disgraceful.

We all have jobs and buy all of our own equipment including camera gear. If you have a great enough passion for something than you will work hard at it. Our passion isn't given to us by our parents, we earn it.
