I'm trying amigurumi for the first time (for my brand new niece or nephew 🥰) My stitch count kept being wrong because I have never heard about the false stitch before. Thank you so much for mentioning that.
Anyone know if it's possible to do the same thing for SC (single crochet) stitches? I'm a newbie crocheter and haven't had much luck modifying this DC pattern to work with SC stitches. It sort of works, but the area where the rows are joined is "lumpy", and has a noticeable seam.
That was a wonderful video! This is the 2nd video I've watched of yours and both are great! 👍 You're a good teacher and explain things very well. Thank you for helping us beginners and thank you for all of the time and work you put into all of this. God bless you!
Hi Sigoni, tried this a couple times, but for the first row, the hole in the middle (the chain we’re using) gets bigger and bigger. By the time I have added the 9 double crochets, the hole is so big that if I do the slip stitch to connect, the circle won’t lie flat. Any tips?
Am finding these tutorials so brilliant. I've never crocheted before but I'm completely hooked. Thanks for your clear and precise instructions. Perfect 🥰
I do too, Christine. I have a pattern for a tote kind of shoulder bag I want to make, however, the bottom ‘s oblong rather than round. 🤷♀️ Guess I’ll figure it out lol 😂
This was so hopefully I don’t think you’ll ever understand how grateful I am. All these tutorials are so confusing and this one is the best one yet keep doing what you doing. Love you ❤🫶
Good morning, Sigoni! I missed yesterday’s class. Had a busy day out of state. This was a great class. I understand crocheting in the round better now. It’s the Magic Circle I’m worried about. I’ve tried it a few times & it’s not my friend, lol. Thank you! Love, from the Great State of Oklahoma, USA 🤍
That’s okay! Crocheting in joined rounds was yesterday’s lesson and crocheting in continuous rounds is today’s lesson! That’s where we’ll talk about the magic circle. But listen, I cried multiple times when I first tried to make the magic circle 🤣 so I totally understand. The good thing about the magic ring though is that it’s not absolutely necessary to learn because there are other ways to start a project in the round, but it’s a good trick to learn! So that’s how I looked at it when I tried to learn again.
Hey Sigoni. Haven’t watched today’s episode, Crocheting in Continuous Rounds yet, so maybe it was answered, but a quick question: Say I make a large project, a round rug for example. Would I increase the same way as a small project? Thank you so much! Love, from the Great State of Oklahoma, USA 🤍
This is my very first time crocheting in the round. Your instructions are spot on. I ended up scratching my head over 2 things, however. My hole in the middle became larger and my false stitches (loop stitches) left some gaps? Wondering if I’m slip stitching the wrong loop? Think I might try it again to see if a second one comes out better. ✌🏼💜🥰 Edit - Ignore the part re: the slip stick gaps. They went away after I continued further. PS How do you keep it from wanting to curl inward? My increases came out correctly.
Hahah! I love your froggin' it comment! I can see that on a t-shirt. I'm so glad you figured things out! I'm sorry I wasn't able to get back with you sooner.
@@SigoniMacaroni It’s quite alright, really. I learned it from you, remember that. 😂 You’re a great person & I can see & feel that through your passion for this art of crocheting. Exactly what I’m trying to do too, atm. Really appreciate you. 🦋✌🏼💜
I would like to know the answer about the curling. My stitch counts are correct. Is it maybe my tension being too tight that’s causing it to curl inward on me? Or the cheap yarn I’m using? Maybe both? 😅
Thank you Sigoni I am having a great time learning how to crochet, but when I went to download say chapter # 6 for ex. I only got the front title page, but no content and so I was dissapointed. I just wanted to let you know.

But a leaning Tower of Pisa!! The Vertical rows consistently, rhythmically curve to the left!( hence the sensation that the entire construction was leaning- to topple- over the right ear! Hi Sandra, you can click the 3 dots in the top right corner of the video and adjust the playback speed there so that the video moves slower. I hope that helps!
Which is the biggest stitch? Double crochet? Or treble? What to do if in between I have to pause while doing crochet.. How will I realise the count and which stitch? Pls help..
The tallest stitch is the treble crochet. If you’re going to take a break from your project, stop at the end of a row or round instead of stopping in the middle, that way you don’t lose track of what you’re doing. Then you can pull up a big loop and take your hook out. I also like to put a stitch marker in my loop so it doesn’t unravel. I’ll show how to do this when I go live on Sunday! If you can’t make it while I’m live, you can still catch the replay 😊
Unfortunately it’s not something I can tell you, it’s something you will have to learn. Don’t be afraid to inspect your stitches. Follow this tutorial and inspect each round as you go.
I haven't come across another yarn like this and because it was discontinued I can't share a link. But I do know that it's a bulky weight (#5) yarn and it's 100% cotton. You may be able to find something similar after some research!
If your stitch count is correct it’s most likely because your stitches are too tight. Trying going up a hook size or two and see if that helps 😊 then come back and let me know!
