This is so random but i feel like if Greg and Felix Immler got lost in the woods we'd find them in a bushcraft built village. Hell they might make bushcraft functioning wooden people while they're at it!
My mother hit the nail on head this last Christmas when she got me a simple plaque that says "I'd rather be lost in the woods than found at home.". I love it, my wife hates it! 🤣🤣🤣
Hi this might be a city slicker question , so being in the bush lost, and camping by a road what kind of indication gives you the knowledge of it being on main road or cross road without signs and tire tracts? Would it be the road being bigger? Idk dumb city sliker
i can't believe no one told me that Greg had a YT channel... this is awesome. now I have to binge all of his videos. i like the underwater trout footage.
What I admire about this video most; No selective editing or obfuscation of reality; humility over pride and a consummate demonstration of the virtues of recognising that nobody is infallible; In a world, often, where mistakes and errors are stigmatised and perceived as ignominious, Greg demonstrates true integrity by embracing mistakes as a critical component to forging one’s continued pursuit of experience and success. Right on.
I know this is strange. But when I get anxious, I watch your videos. It really, honestly and truly calms me down. I am diagnosed with PD and this is a way of coping that helps me sometimes. I don't know if it's your calm demeanor or Fin but it helps. Does not cure it or take it away. But it helps. Thank you
I loved the mushroom part and your mushroom friends that care so much about you Greg. Good episode to watch, Thanks for the teachings and the great entertainment. All the best to you all and Finn too
He doesn't post the footage or edit it. He clearly made it out safe to send the footage to zack though which is good. In one of gregs videos he said he doesnt even have youtube and has never watched his videos before.
Being lost and found in the lost and found is quiet the adventure ! Number one reason for enjoying your vids is your narration, with most survival vids there's none whatsoever. Very educational Great job !
This was a real adventure my brother! Thank you for being so positive, no matter what! You are a good example for many of us! Stay safe and keep having fun!
It's easy to get lost out here, Greg! At least you're lost in paradise. Us islanders know that if you don't show up when you say you're going to show up; we're coming looking for you, so always stay on the main roads and as visible as possible! No man left behind
Greggy don’t worry about your truck brother you have more people that love you and one of these companies will give you a truck. You deserve it. You’re a good man and we all love you, bro. God bless.
much respect for Joe he's a hi quality character kind of guy.appreciated your problem solving and never giving up , when you give up your already defeated.
Granted it turned out to be a bad shock absorber rather than a wheel bearing , but I can’t believe that you actually went out to get fuel knowing that you had what you thought was a bad wheel bearing. Then you drove BACK IN THE BUSH .. Talk about setting yourself up for failure… I’m glad that everything worked out well for you. Thank you for sharing..
This episode was totally comedic. Gregs stress was palpable. He kept mentioning the word "lost" and each time he did his voice had an added element of frustration in its tone. His face would have been a picture when he saw his friend show up tho. I'd have liked to have seen that. Always the truth with ORMB, that's why I love the channel.
Thanks for your honesty about getting lost Greg. All of us can probably do something to be more prepared. I like that you said to take your kids fishing, great advice! I recently had the wheel bearing issue too! I was coming down a mountain from AZ to Utah during a storm & tumble weeds flying across the road 😬 🫣
That was a great adventure Greg. Joe is the man that you need as a friend when things not going your way in the wild. Keep the adventures going and exciting Greg.
Great to see @CanadianFunGuy back in another episode! Followed him since Greg introduced him a while back. Any chance of a survival challenge with Joe in the future? His foraging skills would be interesting to put to the test in a "catch or collect what you eat" situation. Can mushrooms sustain you if you have enough of them...?
Greg needs to do a survival challenge with joe. Also would be cool to see greg and ace videos together on a challenge or wooded beardsman. Joe is an awesome guy and great friend to have for finding you and helping u out
Hey Greg, I member when this happened to you. There's a thing now that you can attach to the vehicle, tell a friend to come, if you are any later than? Ever time! I hope you know that you are never alone, because The good Lord is always with you and me as well! You're a True Survivor! GBU.,SM.,NZ. ✌❤😁🤗🤟
During the early days of gps navigation, my husband got one as a gift. We argued about using it to find this small town with good beef jerky. I like maps, don't trust technology much. Anyway, he didn't have an address, so he just entered "Main Street." As the roads got rougher & smaller, with nothing in sight, he became a little panicked. No phone service. I couldn't help saying "where is your technology god now, huh?" Almost got left on the side of the road. 🤣 Convinced him to backtrack (I sketched a map going) & found the highway. We used a map to find the jerky store.
The fact that you even posted this says a lot about your character. The good and the bad or misfortune, regardless, it’s real! Awesome video! God bless you!
Been subscribed since your first survival challenge with Zach and every episode after has been a real treat. Even being a canadian myself but busy with life, work and not being able to get out there myself this is very therapeutic. Thank you Greg! Look forward to your next episode!
My favorite quote from Mountain men- Henry (Brian Keith) is asked - "Haven't you ever been lost before?" "hell no, I've been fearsome confused for a month or 2 but I ain't never been lost"...
fun to watch a foraging video once you figured out where you were . Glad Joe located you . Great to watch your videos because of your straight forward approach and your love of the natural surroundings ...i eat the morels, chanterelles , and pines and absolutely love picking . The woods were so dry this fall it was probably the worst season for mushroom foraging in the fall that i have seen..
The Best intro and sound track ever, of Ovens Rocky Mountain Bushcraft I’m glad Greg ok and safe, thanks to Joe to the rescue awesome love caring human kind❤.
Always a good day when it starts with Greg and Finn ☺️ I work nights and sleep thru the day lol so this is morning for my house 😁🤷🏻♀️ I have my morning cup of tea and my vape and a new vid drop from my 2 favorite bushmen❤️🐕🦺🐾
Went hunting with my dad today in a forest we've never been to and we almost got lost on the backroads multiple times. Took a few wrong turns. If it wasn't for topping off our tank at the expensive last stop before going onto the wilderness (which we almost didn't do) and the odd bridge that stood out so much that I knew for sure it wasn't the road we came in on, we'd have been sleeping out there just like you tonight.
i was riding home from NY to MI on a old Honda 400cc. rear gear ended up stripped after it spun loose on 80/90 interstate. everything but the fastfood plaace ws closed, a semi truck drive leant me some tools. i wont forget that. never underestimate kindness of strangers. I treated my bike like a baby the last 200 miles home, but, I made it home. I am glad you did too
Thank you for showing yourself in a vulnerable state. It would have been easy to never show the footage and pretend it never happened but you have shown that anyone, even someone as prepared and able as yourself, can have things go wrong. Thank you.
You sure did keep us on the edge of our seats the whole time! I never had a doubt though you would come through, thank God for Joe, what a great friend...
This is one of your best videos!!! You can never be to prepared!!! I married a young couple in the woods in the middle of nowhere on a landing during 2020! The best man arrived and immediately got a flat tire, sharp stick! His spare was flat! I pulled out my portable compresser and blow it up! On the way out, the father of the groom gets a flat with no jack, tire iron wrenches, and the spare is flat! Got that taken care of! Go about 2 more miles, and a tree fell across the road! I pulled out my axe and cut up the tree! I ate really good at the reception!!! I was hungry!!
I'll tell you what, if I were ever lost, I'd want you to be by my side for sure. You'd keep us alive and safe until we were rescued. You knowledge of the outdoors is emense . Stay safe out there my guy, right on 👍 19:32
I got lost in a State Park, camping. It was a late night driving around. But your really lost, out there, Greg. Been Subbed to you for years now. Have a good time.
Always an adventure with you Greg, glad you was able to get out of your situations unscathed for the most part. Can't wait to see what's in store for next time so keep um coming ty, stay safe and God bless
It sounds like it could have been the holiday weekend from hell but Greg just soldiered on through with as positive an attitude as anyone could ever have in the situation.
good tracking work Joe and crew. This is a great video because it teaches folks to know how to improvise and overcome. always a fan Greg Ovens. congratulations for being on Alone again. thanks for the knowledge. we can all learn something everyday.
I realise I'm speaking to someone who's much more experienced than I am, but one thing that might serve you well in case this ever happens again: You can make your own sketch map while you're trying to find your way back. It won't tell you how to get back, but at least that way you shouldn't end up going round in circles and you might be able to figure out which way is most promising.
I have to say that I enjoy your videos because you often find yourself in real survival situations when something goes wrong and you have to work yourself through it and that is a real deal video to see how you solve problems. I was once lost in the deep woods many years ago on a solo mountain bike ride at the time before cell phones and nobody even know where I was. There was about 5 hours of daylight left and fortunately I ran into a couple of hikers who pointed me out. It was very unnerving to say the least. So I don't take pleasure in your misfortunes; I only like the way you get out of problems. Best.
Thanks JOE for finding him. Yeah that's scary stuff. Yeah wow im glad you found him JOE. OK time to keep going. You think of what you can do if you get lost. Keep your phone on you. Have extra gas on hand. See that was meant to happen. It happens to the best of us. Glad your ok GREG.
watching this reminds me of an old saying my family had. we did a lot of camping/fishing/exploring so inevitably we got lost a few times so we came up with the phrase "we're not lost we are just going for a drive". some of the places we found to when we were lost were quite amazing to
I love Greg's Math. It's going to take me an hour to go 40 km because I can only go 20 km an hour!! Hahaha. Was so happy to see your new upload!! Keep rolling the good content and we will keep watching
Let’s all go get stranded with Greg and build a village. Peace and awe in the outdoors!
And call it ovensville, lol
I'm in!
Yep sounds good 😂
Let's go

Extra sweet if the wife hates it. Life is made of golden moments like that

Joe is a true friend, what a guy
Anyone eles want Joe to start a channel about his mushrooms adventures or is it just me ?
When life gives you lemons make lemonade - this adventure was an example of that quote - enjoyed watching it unfold
This is the kind of content I love. Genuine content, and no one does that better than you. Thank you!
i can't believe no one told me that Greg had a YT channel... this is awesome. now I have to binge all of his videos.

The hero of this vlog is Joe!!!
Thx, we were very worried we had lost Greg in serious way. Greg usually never misses morning Coffee, never mind lunch 😁
@@canadianmountainman We could tell how worried you were. If you didn't find him, he would have missed more than coffee and lunch.

Fishing is a survival instinct that is mostly ghosted in our time. It may save your life someday. Its valuable knowledge.
this was actually such a good survival video accidentally. loved it!

Every single time i see Joe in your videos Greg, he just strikes me as a top top friend and man. Love to you all x
