Greg is a self-taught survivalist from Canal Flats, British Colombia, who, since he was a boy, has read nearly every book on the topic. When he is not out in the wilderness, he is a professional dry-waller. He started his first bow drill fire when he was thirteen and spent the next forty years learning bushcraft and studying plants and edibles. He has even developed some of his own survival techniques and is a skilled hunter with both a bow and a slingshot.

Too old? That was rude. I'm 68, and I would love to go with you for a catch and eat adventure though probably not for 30 days. How can you be too old to do what you want to do? I cannot wait for the Australia trip! Also, I really like you and Amos and you and Joe as a team. Joe really won me over when he came looking for you. Nothing better than a loyal and caring friend.
And I'm 78 and I met a guy and his girlfriend in the metro in prague and she told me he was 101 and they both had bikes..too old,lol..

I love how you and the wooded beardsman utilize these rat traps in wild settings. You raise a good point in your discussion Greg. You don’t have as many bills as other people but you also don’t have the same problems. Everyone else is preconsumed with first world problems. Your out at full disconnect. HI Greg if you cut a plug of polystyrene in a circle say two inch thick and place your mousetrap on it hot glued and drilled for the line to go through it will float on a stable base and also keep the hole from freezing. We use this on our fish pond to stop it freezing over about two to three inches all around the styrene to keep the pond oxiginated it works. Love your vids and watch them all. Rob T from UK.

Greg uses truck keys to dangle in the lake, "no worries". Grizzly Bears and cooked Lobster. The Main Man. Boots with another good few years wear. T-Shirt and a jacket, -10 degrees. Greg lifts my spirits.

Finns got some huge paws lol. What a amazing dog. Dogs are so therapeutic. When I got back from Iraq in 2007 I got a dog from a shelter. She was a mutt and looked like Lassie. Just having her saved my life. Ripsey died last year and it was one of the most devastating days I’ve had. I miss her every day. Their lives are short. Enjoy them

I saw the Richard Proenneke documentary on PBS when I was younger. That when my love for bushcraft/nature started. The man was a real legend. Greg you should continue doing your 30 days challenge doing what you love is going to keep you alive 😁

I had a mountain lion circle my tent one night while deer hunting this past season. Didn't know about it till I saw the tracks in the morning. Found a very fresh skat with a coyote pup or possibly domestic dog tooth in it. Really humbles you.
