You can access all the materials when building i did say specifically in the video you cannot just store things in workshops and use them its the building materials
You can use the food to build farms. You can also have your settlers eat and drink surplus food from other settlements if you don’t want to set up that particular resource. You just have to make sure there is enough surplus in the chain somewhere. You can use settlers to haul your goods to other settlements. Load them up and send them packing. They’ll be just bursting with joy and junk when you go visit them at their destination.

You also need to have the “Local Leader” perk.
This would be amazing if you create a large production settlement and you could setup supply lines there

I’ve found that I really like using the mechanists lair as my “supply hub” and that I use eye robots as my provisioners
Good setup. I like to put the robot work bench in graygarden and have an army of junkbots cleaning the tradelanes for my main npc Trashcan Carla. :D

They need a function that links all stored items, weapons and Armor etc. I forget where i drop of my loot

No can set up the supply line from either side :)

Yes as long as they link through the chain
