- Daniel Ricciardo is back on the Formula 1 grid with Scuderia AlphaTauri for the rest of the 2023 season... and THIS is the day where it all happened. As part of a tyre test with Oracle Red Bull Racing, the Honey Badger got behind the wheel of the RB19 for the first time, with the news coming later that day that the loveable Aussie would be back racing from the Hungarian Grand Prix onwards.

@@GrannyBXpeople forget the year he had with Red Bull. His car was falling apart every race. Bad strat calls. The guy was at the top of his game and actually trading blows with Max every race. Verstappen is a once in a lifetime talent. Did Ric make a bad career decision... Yes... Does he deserve a second chance? Time will tell.

@@GrannyBXlol, idiot. He didn’t run away from anything. On the contrary, he knew the only way he was ever going to be able to beat Max was in a different car! RB was already favouring Max on every decision. He was never and will never get a fair go at RB. He took a punt on Renault and McLaren, hoping that they may be able to produce a race winning car but it didn’t work out 🤷🏻♂️ So now, he accepts his fate, returns to what is now the fastest car on the track and will do his best to beat Max, even though the cards are stacked against him…

F1 needs people like Dan. He is not only a PR machine he is not someone that takes everything too seriously, yet has a ton of talent. Most other drivers on grid just dont have what Dan has. Really hope to see him back in the RB seat.

So happy for him... I am more exited to watch him this weekend than the actual race. Really hope and prey that he will do well and a clean weekend for him. Danny, Lando and Max are my favorite drivers.

I'm not a Red Bull fan but I am so happy they have brought Danny Ric back. Massive Kudos to Red Bull, Christian and Helmut. DR is a massive talent and that smile was surely missed from F1. I've never seen an F1 driver so happy, his smile, demeanor and in his eyes. Brilliant.

Since I started watching F1 I always liked Daniel, he is one of my favourite drivers. That felt so bad for me when he didn't got a seat at the end of last year. I was always cheering for him, even when people were saying that his F1 career is over. Now that feels amazing and looking how happy he is now really bring tears to my eyes, happy tears. Good luck Daniel we all love you and wish you the best!

Probablby not just heart, this is a business first and foremost. He is a cracking driver and a marketers dream. Yes he is part of the family since his junior days, but had he performed like he did in the orange tractor last two seasons, then he would not be on loan to AT. I am just glad that he has still got it and hopefully he can show some "pace" in the AT.

Suzuka, 2012 - I was watching the race from Turn 2 Grandstand. Daniel and Michael Schumacher were fighting for P10 until the very last lap. It was MSC's last outing in Suzuka and I could see he was pushing Daniel so hard. Though I don't think the battle was covered on TV, Dan did superb job in keeping MSC at bay to secure P10 in the end, with underperforming STR car ! Almost everyone around me went crazy because their home hero Kamui Kobayashi secured his first podium finish, but my eyes were glued to the spectacular battle between Dan and MSC. And moreover, Dan drove very fair and made any mistakes. People often mention Daniel's sheer overtaking skill, but let's not forget that he is one of the cleanest, fairest driver on the grid. Needless to say, but to see Dan and Mick chatting in the pit lane brings happy tears in my eyes. Welcome back the Honey Badger, wish you the best of luck !

Listening to Horner this week it’s clear that he wants Riccardo back in the RB in 2025. Daniel just needs to prove he deserves the seat over the next year and a half.
Always has been one of my favourite drivers. I love remembering all the great work and wins RB had in 2010 and onwards with Seb and Daniel, and seeing them together (and especially Daniels expression when Seb showed up 😍) definitely makes me feel nostalgic
