I haven't played WoW since a friend let me play Cataclysm on his account way back in the day and lately I've had a great time with FFXIV and decided to give WoW a try to have a bit of variety. I've been feeling discouraged because a lot of people complain about the new or returning player experience being overwhelming and I would absolutely agree. But this crash course turned it into a cakewalk. You really told me everything I needed to know to really get into the game and I am really grateful for making it as easy and painless as you did. Gonna tell everyone else I know who has reservations about picking WoW up or back up about this guide.

I just wanted to follow up and say I finally finished this video. I have been playing on and off since I was a teen and im 35 rn. I tried out some things from about half way point of this video last night (keybindings / action bar setups with the shift and ctrl for second and third sets and Q /E for slot 7 and 8, auto combat, combined bags, turning char adjustments, auto run/walk toggle) and tonight ill try out the second half in game (adding my 'kick' for my class i googled it looks like wind shear for shamens, add ons, getting mining and herb as professions, warband quests/banks, color of flightpaths, deff wanna make a mage for portals teleports lol) super appreciate you lucky ghost! always the best been following ya since i started on ESO a few years back ! Always learning new things from you!
id maybe reccomend one profession that gathers, and one profession that crafts. that way you can craft materials from what you gather. as you can get some pretty nifty items and gear from some. but getting the resources can be costly if you cant gather yourself

@@LuckyGhost As we know, with the game being this old and this complex as it is an MMO, and as you are capable of simplifying and explaining things well, I would suggest you to do another video, that goes into more detailed things about systems, how they work and for example, how PvP activities work. That is, if you deem it being worth the time, for new players I am sure it would be worth it to watch or listen to it if they just find it.

Thank you so much, as a returning player who hasn't played since the start of BFA, I can't believe how much has changed. You really do a spectacular job of explaining things clearly. And while I'm here, I wanted to comment on motion sickness in the game now. The newer game version gives me horrrendous motion sickness and I couldn't find a setting that helped - UNTIL I scaled the UI. Scaling the UI to be bigger and scrolling all the way out on my character to max distance helped an incredible amount. Hopefully this helps someone else. ♥
been away from WOW for a couple of years and feel like a newb. . My long time real friend and in game running buddy Bluepheas passed away 2 yrs ago and it was just wasnt the same. I have been getting the itch so this was very helpful to clue me in on what has changed. Many Thx.
very comprehensive guide lucky! I havent touched wow since Cataclsym so this was a great way for me to catch up with the current state of the game. I must say the core progression systems have changed a lot, definitely feels way more accessible and rewarding than before.
I've played Wow since pre TBC and even I've learned new things. I always struggle with rotation, had no idea about Hekili. Huge thank you for such an amazing guide!
I use the Tukui UI add-on because it's amazing for easy layouts, if anyone wants a quick way to sort your screen out into necessities and make it all consistent and nice plus you can copy the settings across to all your characters really easily
Took a break from WoW and haven’t played since Shadowlands. Tried to come back for Dragonflight but life got busy again. Been playing since 2004 so the first 5 minutes of this video had my jaw drop… New character load screen and then finding out horde and alliance can play together now!!?? Wow I’ve missed so much!

So I have been off and on for years and always have a fallout within three or four days after getting out of the isles and never know where to go and last night was about to quit again and just now found your video and seen where to go next. Thank you!!!! I did have a MMO mouse but need to get a new one since my 1-3 buttons don't work but I do have a razer nostromo ( to play league) and will rebind stuff like your set up instead of having all the keys to press. Again this video has helped out tremendously!

I just started this guide I was a beast with demo warlock and transforming into a demon back in the day…I got sad when they took that away and then came demon hunter I been out of the game for awhile so excited to see what’s new!!! I hope for metamorphosis back but I’m hoping my demo warlock is better but demon hunter was fun when I experienced that

I played WoW from the release of BC until about 8 years ago when I quit and I've never been back. The main reason I quit was that it was impossible to get "good" gear without doing raids which really demanded a guild group. You could possibly get in a pug but they were incredibly toxic, a terrible experience. Guilds were not much better except maybe the top few, all the others were always shorthanded so they struggled to get up a good raid group, people left, the guild broke up so you started over. I would have loved a way to solo more and actually be rewarded for it but it wasn't possible. Has any of these problems been addressed, especially the solo play which I really enjoyed.

I watched the entire video because im really interested in playing wow. Everything was well explained and it gives me a more relaxed feeling jumping into the game. I still have a couple of questions. -I do remember watching a guide that told me i have to play BFA first. I will start with the free trial that goes to level 20, so i wonder if i still have to do that or go directly to the dragon isles? -About the mage utilities, especially the one that generates food, so i trade the generated items with other players or does it generate into their inventory? -As a new player, do i need a guild? Is there any way to get in touch with players or helpers when i have a question during playing? inside or outside the game itself. -Do i need to buy all expansions or do i only need the war within to access everything? -Since i never touched Warcraft before im not sure whats the difference between WoW, Retail or Classic. What should i start with? -Would it be better to start as a DPS class before trying out other classes? This is probably a lot but i hope someone could help me with this. Thank you in advance^^
-No longer have to go to bfa, that is outdated info now -you trade the items to them if they ask for them -guilds are totally optional but can add a lot to the experience so I recommend finding an active one -buy war within and you have every expansion automatically - start with retail - dps is the easiest to hop into groups on as you can follow the tank around and pew pew

I did have a MMO mouse but need to get a new one since my 1-3 buttons don't work but I do have a razer nostromo ( to play league) and will rebind stuff like your set up instead of having all the keys to press. Again this video has helped out tremendously!

I just started this guide I was a beast with demo warlock and transforming into a demon back in the day…I got sad when they took that away and then came demon hunter I been out of the game for awhile so excited to see what’s new!!! I hope for metamorphosis back but I’m hoping my demo warlock is better but demon hunter was fun when I experienced that

I played WoW from the release of BC until about 8 years ago when I quit and I've never been back. The main reason I quit was that it was impossible to get "good" gear without doing raids which really demanded a guild group. You could possibly get in a pug but they were incredibly toxic, a terrible experience. Guilds were not much better except maybe the top few, all the others were always shorthanded so they struggled to get up a good raid group, people left, the guild broke up so you started over. I would have loved a way to solo more and actually be rewarded for it but it wasn't possible. Has any of these problems been addressed, especially the solo play which I really enjoyed.
Yep you can now solo your way to great gear with overland content and delves!

I watched the entire video because im really interested in playing wow.
Everything was well explained and it gives me a more relaxed feeling jumping into the game.
I still have a couple of questions.
-I do remember watching a guide that told me i have to play BFA first. I will start with the free trial that goes to level 20, so i wonder if i still have to do that or go directly to the dragon isles?
-About the mage utilities, especially the one that generates food, so i trade the generated items with other players or does it generate into their inventory?
-As a new player, do i need a guild? Is there any way to get in touch with players or helpers when i have a question during playing? inside or outside the game itself.
-Do i need to buy all expansions or do i only need the war within to access everything?
-Since i never touched Warcraft before im not sure whats the difference between WoW, Retail or Classic. What should i start with?
-Would it be better to start as a DPS class before trying out other classes?
This is probably a lot but i hope someone could help me with this. Thank you in advance^^

-you trade the items to them if they ask for them
-guilds are totally optional but can add a lot to the experience so I recommend finding an active one
-buy war within and you have every expansion automatically
- start with retail
- dps is the easiest to hop into groups on as you can follow the tank around and pew pew
