About the Project:
Sunset City is a series based on the US state of Florida. Not just taking inspiration from the most iconic tourist destinations or glamorous beaches, Sunset City will focus on capturing the entire state from North to South. We will cover such cities as Miami, Tampa and Orlando, as well as some towns in between. Most importantly Florida's natural landscaping spanning from the tropical beaches to the vast wetlands of the Everglades.

Hello, whats Specifications of the PC do you have? Since I'm building my PC for this game:) Thank you in advance!
Dont forget to add to the playlist...
Love the in-world skits. You should start making VHS style advertisements for Sunset City, like Fab! Promotional events, or employee training for the burger chain!
I love this idea!
Yessssssss
YES! Great ideas! I want a Jane Fonda inspired aerobics skit. Or breakdancing to the jingle of the burgerchain commercial. 2.20 Chains.
The Cities Skylines multiverse lol
This. This is a great idea
Rainbow colored lights glowing on the white surfaces of the stadium would make for some absolutely beautiful night shots
Sympa de voir un compère français ici 🇫🇷
Oh yeah that would go hard frfr
So good
That's a yes.
One interesting thing that I've seen being very common is putting museum ships next to Sport stadiums. And I thought that since Fab Arena is so close to the sea you could place a wwii warship or something there. Maybe something similar to the American Victory Ship in Tampa.
I have actually done this. I have a football stadium and I put a battleship outside of it and it looks super cool
5:09 Wow, what a throwback. It's been years since he and other creators like Fluxtrance and Strictoaster have uploaded.
Easily the best stadium build I’ve seen in CS! Great work 🙂
NBA team: "The Sunset City Swordfish". Fits nicely with the Florida theme. GO SWORDFISH!!
I think that's too close to the marlins
@@fergar0206 who didn't exist at the time
A raise your Swordfish with Seacows! Or Manatees?
Great build as always ! A bit of trivia about the videotron centre in Qc city : it's actually a pretty recent build (2015). There is a "old modernist feel" to it so I don't think it's an issue for an 80s setting. Also, the arena is nicknamed "the smoke detector" because of its shape !
It… It really does look like a smoke detector. Now can’t unsee it.
Something for the future (not even sure if this will be seen but imma suggest it anyway) I think maybe representing Disney world in Orlando might be a great way to bring in an amusement park with a zoo, multiple hotels, shopping centre, with a bunch of transportation for pedestrians to move between them such as a monorail, busses, a ferry, and cable cars. I’ve just been thinking about representing that in my own build but I think that it works better here since you have a ton of space on the opposite side of the map where you might be able to develop a sister city with the main attraction being that “Disney world” amusement park. Like if you agree so he can see it.
One of my favourite builds you've done! Love these large scale infrastructure builds
So nice to see your name pop up! You’re an OG!
Loving the skits you're doing lately mate! Super fun and creative. There's something really satisfying about seeing little Drew living in the cities you built.
Maybe the Fabia Stadium is a refurbished World Expo exhibition building. It would make the super futuristic look of the building make more sense and give a bit of history and backstory to Sunset City.
I love this idea!
@@twodollarstwenty Thank you.
Fabio was a small time contractor who worked in and around sunset city. His big break came when he was given the contract of the Intercity train station. Instead of building a fully functioning and efficient train station, he pocketed a small amount of the budget along with the corrupt city planning officials and started his own Soda company. The soda was a hit because he marketed it as a Homegrown internationally loved product and it gave him a large fortune. Since all this happened around the same time as the development of sunset city and he already had connection with the city planning officials he started investing, buying and funding large scale commercial projects in the city. This amassed him a big fortune and made him a powerful man with a lot of money.
I think a pier and boardwalk area would be a good fit around the arena, with bistros and local food/diverse markets adding a bit of cultural cohesion and nightlife. Could be part of a local government initiative to boost city pride and unity among the different groups living in the City, encouraging people to rally around the new Stadium and team (bonus that this messaging coincides with the connotations of diversity and celebration surrounding Fab!'s rainbow aesthetic). Plus, gaming arcades for that 80s vibe and a small-scale pier amusement park - like Santa Monica!
Great work with the series mate, glad to see Sunset City thriving!
With the addition of time machines, my suspicion that Sunset City is actually part of the C&C Red Alert universe has grown substantially.
*Tim Curry intensifies*
I love the concept of the stadium!! I’d suggest using the left over buildings that attach to it and maybe make a FAB! Office space for the arena off to the side maybe where the tennis courts are? Or in place of the little shopping square.
Me, from Quebec, watching the video and seeing the Videotron Center : "insert the Leo Decaprio pointing at the TV meme"
Great built !
This is definitely my favorite Cities: Skylines series right now. The new arena is looking absolutely fabulous!
Such production value in your videos dude. Good editing, good music. That set you aside from other Cities Skylines.
Two dollar twenty is the reason I have a detailed city with loads of Custom assets like skyscrapers and custom factories.
Those greenscreen parts are just pefect 👍
For a historical reference, the team would most likely be 2-3 years old as the most recent NBA expansion would’ve been the 80-81 season where Sunset City would be welcomed in with the Dallas Mavericks. However, it wouldn’t be uncommon to randomly add a team in Florida in the 80’s seeing as 5 years later Miami and Charlotte would be added in ‘88, followed by Orlando and Minneapolis the following year in ‘89. The 80’s is all about professional basketball in Florida lmao.
Great work! I love all of the detail you add to your builds :)
The Sunset Sharks!!
Sponsored by FabSoda, the Sunset Sharks was founded Summer 1984, when the Sports Marketing Program was introduced by Fabio Booster's financial advisors.
FabSodaSports Limited, was founded, and the first team they bought was the Rockwood Rebels, which got moved to the home-town of FabSoda. The team is promising, and will play in the new NBA season. 🦈🦈🦈
These skits are a completely unexpected but amazing addition to my cities skylines content 👏
I've just watched the most entertaining add ever and I don't even mind it.
The in world skits are absolutely brilliant! Please do more
What about a small storyline of someone who grew up in a rougher part of Sunset City and rose to become a great basketball player? Maybe you could place something like an orphanage or community centre in the poorer district that he grew up in?
This is such a great build! Awesome work as always
Loved this build! I'd maybe have basketball courts instead of tennis courts seeing as it's a basketball arena; and have the Fab!Soda logo itself somewhere on the stadium. Maybe above the entrance. If they're going to sponsor the stadium they'd at least put their logo on it!
Can’t wait for the Sunset City Seamen
Saw someone mentioning a car meet in last episode, I think it could be fitting for a 80's American city
Hey that was me!! Would still love to see a "2 fast 2 furious" car meet scenes of racers in a parking lot or on the Vice city streets. Or a scenario like in the police chase scene! Could be a good way to show the general population of Sunset City do and how they have fun after dark. Maybe Mike Burgins could have something to with it
Thats actually a really good idea! I havent seen that in a playthrough before
I like city like this, many parking lots & the details. Love it ❤❤
I imagine the school trips going to Fab Arena. If I was there,Best school trip ever!
Omg what an intro, loved it
Love the wooden spoon flip.
Absolutely love the Fab! arena sign (& whole build) but before you coloured it, (about 20:39 letters on the right) the letters had more dynamics/perspective & to me looked intentional. It reminded me of the Hollywood sign, how some of the letters on that are closer in the "foreground" while some are more pushed to the "background" & honestly did prefer it, small suggestion though. The way the quay hugs against the water side of the arena is so cool & fits the curvature perfectly.
Awesome episode. This might be one of my favorite arenas you’ve done (I still have a lot of sentiment for the Springwood Bowl). You might also be the only person whose ad placements I watch. “Freshpopcorn16” was another throwback.
What is freshpopcorn a throwback to?
@@egill624 freshpopcorn was another Cities Skylines UA-camr. But now I'm questioning... is Two-Dollars actually Freshpopcorn?
these skits are actually amazing lmao
About the quay wall at the arena on the water. You can make quay have right angles by going into node controller and dragging each side of the node to the middle.
You can make a pool around the arena like the one infront of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC. Not the sctual shape of the pool but the depth of it. I think it would look great
Some high end hotels next to the arena would be awesome!
I love these new intros xD
You always continue to impress with the effort when doing sponsors, it’s incredible! I’ve not seen this effort anywhere before. Love your content as always. :)
In Denver Colorado the amusement park and the arena are right next door to each other and both owned by the same guy, you could do something like that next to the arena
Alright I was scrolling through the comments and I saw on naming the basketball team the swordfish and I agree with that. I also think that we should add the fact that the team manager is a guy name Henry last name and you can mold it how ever you want from there
Monorail could be good since there’s the station not too far away. However i think a more unique situation would be a tram. Not a big one but something that’s very touristy and moves people around a semi tourist destination of basketball stadium, grounds and hall of local fame museum. Then just have some stops by the monorail or something. I think it would it a cool unique look
Pretty belated, but to get the corners on the piers, it's a LOT easier to just have two adjacent nodes and then adjust the corner with Network Extensions to have no curve. Saves a ton of fiddling; learned that one from City Planner Plays. 😎
this might be one of the best episodes!! great work 2d20
love how the building inspired by the ftx arena has another dodgy title sponsor in sunset
By far my favourite cities skylines UA-camr by far like the skits and the way you commentate is just something special that I don’t find in any other UA-camrs
So idea for the lefthand side. A waterfront with fountain feature next to the old waterworks. Perhaps even the old gas and waterworks. Brick buildings that now are more decorative/historical parts of a waterfront park that blends into the arena.
The other thing, to tie Fab into it. Perhaps an opposition company has a tower HQ (like for marketing). Maybe like Coca Cola. By building the arena, Fab has taken the focus away from the competition's building (who now has to look down on the arena). And also, Fab has been allowed to reduce taxes on their main company because of their tourism contribution. Just an iidea?
Alternatively, you could do the same by having Fab tower as Fab marketing HQ. By building it in the same plan as the arena, they got to fully deduct the tower from their income for building tourism.
Anyways, hope you like the ideas.
You could color the arena too! The white isn't that fancy compared to the letters!
best ad ever I can't believe how good you are at the real life edits.
Call it the 'Yaaaaassss' stadium. I got season tickets and am opening the Sunset Superbowl with Lennifer Jopes and Rakisha
Another episode yayy! I love this series!
I was thinking, maybe have a big waterfront with shops opening out onto the boardwalk (use building spawn points to have delivery and service to an alleyway behind).
You could also extend it over that canal with a bridge to the stadium waterfront
Fab! Soda Headquarters near by the Stadium or somewhere in Sunset.
@
two dollars twenty, I currently live in Florida and the train your using is actually called the "Tri Rail".
Super excited I’ve Been watching you for quite awhile and about to get city skylines for my self
These skits are genius..so good I forgot one of them was a sponsored ad read..amazing.
Maybe you could put a station with the metro and monorail right where the shopping mall is… some sort of pedestrian bridge across the street. Then maybe an exit from the highway that is exclusively for Fab Arena.
the intro is hilarious lmao
The entrance building you used is a building from my city! Schouwburg (Rabotheater) Hengelo. Didn't expect to see that here xD
great intro. love that lil walk u did😂😂😂😂 walk n wave on every video🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
On the left of FAB! Arena might be a good spot for a cruise terminal. Miami is a major cruise destination soo maybe when ships dock people can catch a game.
Or how about before cruise ships, the harbor used to be an Ocean Liner harbor, but with the rise of areoplanes and automobiles the Ocean Liner company decided to branch out to avoid bankruptcy into the all new cruise liner indstury. And since they now offer cruises and Sunset City has "spectacular views" they were able to refurbish the harbor area into a sort of historical/new and improved Harbor area, but realizing that they had no idea what to do with the space to the right of the harbor, that could have been like a dry dock or something, Fab Soda decided to invest in the area and help build the stadium.
There could even be a historic ship on display people could vist, much like the Queen Mary Two.
Alternate names for the Miami Heat when they came into the NBA were Alligators, Sunsetters, Sharks, and Vice, among many others. I think Sunset City Setters or Sharks would be really good! Alliterative.
What about Sunset City's National Guard, maybe with a link to illegal Fab! exports... a D(rink) E A. Maybe even with submarines being used and captured. could be a cool link to the story
also, who made Fab! Arena? sounds like a construction company hq and equipment area is needed :)
so jealous of PC and your skills
A FAB Soda Stadium needs a FAB Soda store. Or FAB Soda Gimmick restaurant as they did (briefly) take off in the 80s.
A great addition would be a building based on the old Miami Herald building. It used to be a couple blocks north of the stadium overlooking the bay.
Used to be one of the most recognizable buildings in the 80’s and 90’s since you would always see the large MiamiHerald signage on the bridge.
I think there should be like a fab soda theme park. Like Hershey park in the us or Cadbury world in the U.K.
Finaly another quality content ♥️
That was a great transition to the sponsored segment 😊 inloved it❤
$2, that's the best ad I ever seen, haha loved it!
Think the Sunset City Manatees would be a great name for the the basketball team. Could come up with a sick logo for them.
Good tip about those trainlines!
Your Fab! Arena turned out to be fabulous!
Never would have expected to see the Centre Vidéotron in CS haha
As a Montrealer, who has visited Quebec twice, I did not know that that's what the Videotron Center looks like
A lot better than our stadium (bell center) which no joke has two end of line train stations (but it does have a semi-pedestrianized section out front 😝😝😝😝)
If the arena is a new build. You should have some construction near it. As if it was built on the edge of town and reconstructed from abandoned areas. In the 80s a lot of these projects were built in the outskirts just to be swallowed up by the city that grew around it. The property was cheaper outside of the city so large plots of land were bought then sold in the 90s when the property values increased.
enlarge the FAB Soda signage and place it on top of the arena, much like Kaseya Arena and others around the US.
Weird intro but I love it!
How about before the era of cruise ships, the harbor area next the the stadium used to be used as an Ocean Liner harbor, but with the rise of areoplanes and automobiles the Ocean Liner company, say The SunStar Line, decided to branch out to avoid bankruptcy into the all new cruise liner industry. Since they now offer cruises and Sunset City has "spectacular views" they were able to refurbish the harbor area into a sort of historical/new and improved Harbor area, but realizing that they had no idea what to do with the space to the right of the harbor, that could have been like a dry dock or something, Fab Soda decided to invest in the area and help build the stadium.
There could even be a historical ship on display people could vist, much like the Queen Mary Two.
You could even set up "Cruise ship" lines going between some of the islands.
And Historically this would fit in, as Ocean liners were the main way to travel between Continents, but since aeroplanes "evolved" during the Second World War, people realized paying to air-travel from America to Europe in like 5-10 hours was better than on a ship traveling for 5-10 days. Now with less customers most Ocean Liner companies went bankrupt, and the ones remaining figured out that if their ships went to "kool exotic places" (mostly islands) they would draw in more customers, thus the Cruise Ship industry was born.
Which all happened majorily in the late 1940s and 1950s, but the Cruise Ship industry didn't fully become what it was until the late-ish 1980s as most Ocean Liners were replaced with "better" *cough* _worse_ *cough* Cruise Ships. In fact if nothing happened to it in like three years, there is atleast one Ocean Liner making trips between the continents....The Queen Mary Two....or was it the Queen Elizabeth Two.....
the intro!!
So chuffed rhe FAB Arena name was placed like that. The baseball stadium in Miami uses the old Miami Orange Bowl signage laid out in a similar way. Totally planned!
youre the only youtube i watch the ads of
i think the fab arena would be a perfect place to put a ferry stop. it would fit in great
Fabi logo on top of roof, and fans district similar to deer district in Milwaukee
The Intro was great! We need more of those
The Sunset Scorchers should be the name of the team, because Florida is boiling hot
Fab Soda's colours have always reminded me of a toucan's beak, so I think the Sunset City Toucans might be a fitting name!
The skit 😭 awesome
That "zilch" was crisp as hell
well hold on, the CMRail thing is cool and fine, but the older "phase 1" citylink trains are absolutely time appropriate and can still be used.
I really like the time travel aspect of things!
love the no legs beginning 😂😂😂😂
Really cool to see a Canadian asset!!! 🇨🇦
great work! the ads are incredible!!
FAB! Arena
Fresher then the Cola!
The FAB Franchise has recently just sponsored the new arena! My idea is that the surrounding buildings will be souvenir shops, with the cola obviously, and advertising!
Improving profits! and cola!
I don’t know really.
What are your ideas
How about a Hotel & Waterfront resturnat near where the Tennis courts are?
When you mentioned the area being 24:00 neglected and the "NEW" Stadium being built I instantly though of Tropicana Field, in St Pete, where a whole plighted community was thorn down to be replaced in the 80s; the stadium actually taking much longer to be built. Given how you mentioned this area being "Industrial" with the rail-road and being bisected by a highway about this as a story idea; based on real events on the West-Side of the state.
FAB Soda, which has a factory/disterillery in the area suggests to the city that they will help fund a stadium a few blockes near their old factory as a way of sparking renewed investment in the area, FAB sees this as a way to promote their brand to people moving to the area, and get good press by appearing to be helping to redevelop a slummy area into something nicer.
- This was a very real thing in Florida at the time, especially in the Tampabay area. Disney World, Ybor City, Busch Gardens, Tropical Field [build on the former gas plant district] all might be good insperiation for this area, as FL was starting to see a BOOM of "NEW" Developments during this time period with attempts of Urban renewal.
You might also want to consider using some of the seaside resort buildings as a background for a University, Flagler and Tampa Universities where built around and from hotels along the railroads that where being built in FL during the late 1800s and 1920s periods. So if you're thinking of a University nearby this might also give you some inspieration.
The homes in and around the area along with the factories are in a various stage of being demolished and or turned into something else which was a real thing in FL at the time.
