Either view again this masterpiece or listen to the music that is so intense, so great that you remember all the moments linked to these music...and you feel pain again (my heart bleed when i heard "Pathway") The unicity of this anime can be sum up with that : The emotional pain that you will endure is a very strange pain to feel and everyone feels it differently but there's more There're the musics wich you can hear on this video making an atmosphere absolutly magnificent There're the landscapes wich are...perfect. No other words describes it better There're the characters who are cute, you can link to them easily, care for them But most importantly, and it's something i found out recently, the anime WANTS you to feel the same feeling that ALL people in the anime/manga feels : the NEEDING to know more, to seek and resolve all the mysteries of the Abyss. In the Abyss Human life is no more important then the tools you use, the grass you walk on or the food you eat. Alot of people don't understant that about this anime. The stuff Riko, Reg, Nanachi and even Mitty and Prushka wen't through, it's all part of the life cycle of the Abyss.
i finished the anime around a week or two ago, and now i have volume 11 next to me because i didnt want to wait for more to get animated. after i finished the show, i found the entire soundtrack and ive been listening to all of it on repeat for days. made in abyss went from an anime i heard about and was tempted to watch but didnt get around to it for a while, all the way to my 2nd favorite anime by the time i was done with it. i strongly debate whether or not i like re: zero more, as that would be my number 1, and recency bias may be playing a part in made in abyss being number 2, but i dont think that ranking will go down. made in abyss is legitimately one of my favorite pieces of art across all forms of it. when i saw the first monster they dealt with (not the splitjaw but im blanking on its name), i wasnt super impressed because its art style felt really off compared to the rest of the show, but that was the only thing that even had a slight negative response from me. every single character that im aware of so far is absolutely amazing in their design. my favorite character is Ozen FOR SURE. she is such a badass character, looks awesome, her armor is perfect, shes super believable within that universe, and the way she was written was imo, the best they couldve done with the time she was present in the story. and then we have the soundtrack. holy fuck is the soundtrack the best soundtrack i think i may have ever heard. there are a lot of games and shows ive played and watched over the years, and i love a lot of different soundtracks ive heard, like the dark souls game's soundtracks, destiny soundtracks, NieR soundtracks, attack on titan, re: zero, berserk and so on. but nothing has hit me as hard as the made in abyss soundtrack. NieR Automata has some really emotional music when you have context for the songs, but even NieR barely compares to how emotional and unique the made in abyss soundtrack is. I think i may have started watching this show at the right time in my life to experience the emotions it tries to make the audience feel, because i genuinely dont believe a show or game should be able to make me feel this way about it. i just love this series so much in a way thats hard to describe, and i feel like im not alone either. back to reading while i listen to this :D im ready for more emotional damage :D
Wow, thanks for the long comment! Made in Abyss is my second favorite too althought my first is Madoka Magica. But the soundtrack is easily the best ost ever. I will also add that another great thing about Ozen is that her japanese voice actress is Sayaka Ohara who voiced Beatrice in Umineko and shes super talented.
you know, i know thisll sound odd but i actually watched it in dub, mainly because theres so much to look at and i wouldve had to pause to take it all in. that and i compared the two voice actresses for Ozen, and i actually kind of prefer the english voice for some reason. either way, theyre both good if you ask me@@wysannikjarjara9329

If there's a season 4, then it has better be as good as season 2 or else there won't be a season 5. Season 3 was hot garbage. It had a pretty good premise too, just piss poor execution.
If by season 2 you mean movie and season 3 season 2 then i kinda agree. Even tho there were some great things It had potential to be much better. But dont worry manga after season 2 is cooking

In the Abyss Human life is no more important then the tools you use, the grass you walk on or the food you eat. Alot of people don't understant that about this anime. The stuff Riko, Reg, Nanachi and even Mitty and Prushka wen't through, it's all part of the life cycle of the Abyss.

i finished the anime around a week or two ago, and now i have volume 11 next to me because i didnt want to wait for more to get animated. after i finished the show, i found the entire soundtrack and ive been listening to all of it on repeat for days.
made in abyss went from an anime i heard about and was tempted to watch but didnt get around to it for a while, all the way to my 2nd favorite anime by the time i was done with it. i strongly debate whether or not i like re: zero more, as that would be my number 1, and recency bias may be playing a part in made in abyss being number 2, but i dont think that ranking will go down. made in abyss is legitimately one of my favorite pieces of art across all forms of it.
when i saw the first monster they dealt with (not the splitjaw but im blanking on its name), i wasnt super impressed because its art style felt really off compared to the rest of the show, but that was the only thing that even had a slight negative response from me. every single character that im aware of so far is absolutely amazing in their design. my favorite character is Ozen FOR SURE. she is such a badass character, looks awesome, her armor is perfect, shes super believable within that universe, and the way she was written was imo, the best they couldve done with the time she was present in the story.
and then we have the soundtrack.
holy fuck is the soundtrack the best soundtrack i think i may have ever heard. there are a lot of games and shows ive played and watched over the years, and i love a lot of different soundtracks ive heard, like the dark souls game's soundtracks, destiny soundtracks, NieR soundtracks, attack on titan, re: zero, berserk and so on. but nothing has hit me as hard as the made in abyss soundtrack. NieR Automata has some really emotional music when you have context for the songs, but even NieR barely compares to how emotional and unique the made in abyss soundtrack is.
I think i may have started watching this show at the right time in my life to experience the emotions it tries to make the audience feel, because i genuinely dont believe a show or game should be able to make me feel this way about it. i just love this series so much in a way thats hard to describe, and i feel like im not alone either.
back to reading while i listen to this :D im ready for more emotional damage :D

Made in Abyss is my second favorite too althought my first is Madoka Magica. But the soundtrack is easily the best ost ever.
I will also add that another great thing about Ozen is that her japanese voice actress is Sayaka Ohara who voiced Beatrice in Umineko and shes super talented.
you know, i know thisll sound odd but i actually watched it in dub, mainly because theres so much to look at and i wouldve had to pause to take it all in. that and i compared the two voice actresses for Ozen, and i actually kind of prefer the english voice for some reason. either way, theyre both good if you ask me@@wysannikjarjara9329

If there's a season 4, then it has better be as good as season 2 or else there won't be a season 5. Season 3 was hot garbage. It had a pretty good premise too, just piss poor execution.
If by season 2 you mean movie and season 3 season 2 then i kinda agree. Even tho there were some great things It had potential to be much better.
