I watched Dakotaz briefly in 2020 and every time I watched his stream he would literally respond to every message. He was so damn wholesome with his fans. Unlike others who get angry, he would always keep a chill vibe. Only reason I stopped watching him was because i was never a Fortnite guy. I actually thought he blew up with Among Us, as I often saw him in massive lobbies with Valkyrae, Disguised Toast and OTV. Like I genuinely thought most people liked him during the Among Us phase and things died down when the game died down. Had no clue people felt he was just hopping on a trend. I dunno. I won't lie. I know DK from Among Us, from 5up's streams and I absolutely adored him when he was on. I didn't know a thing about him other than the fact that he was hilarious and seemed such a down-to-earth, genuine, and kind hearted guy. From what I've learned so far about him, I'm genuinely sad that his channels have died, he deserves a boom I think.
He’s really rude and smug sometimes. I got blocked on his stream for “defending” a hater when all I said was “it doesn’t really make sense to stoop to his level”. Then dakotaz proceded to block me and call me a piece of shit. I only said what I said because both him and his chat mocked and shittalked this “hater” on his stream that said something along the lines of “you’re boody at this game”, which is a dumb troll comment that should just be straight up ignored. I realize trolls and haters are annoying but I found it so offputting how dakotaz and his stream proceeded to mock him and make fun of his channel and channel name, left a really bad taste in my mouth. This is a man in his thirties that has been streaming for 10 years, he should know how to control his temper and not respond like that. I’ve seen him act rude and smug before on his streams but this was something else, I watched this and just gasped.

But I remember seeing his YT when I was younger and for someone to try and stay as humble to their viewers as he has, he deserves a Pewdiepie Legend status. i only found dk through among us so i was never around for the fortnite days, but it just breaks my heart whenever you go onto one of his videos and the comments are flooded with “you fell off” etc. i’m fairly certain he’s aware of his decline in popularity, but i don’t think he needs to be reminded of it every time he posts a video. i cant imagine it helping his mentality at all. people need to let him just enjoy making the content he wants to make, whether it does well or not, his happiness should be what’s most important. at the end of the day, i just wish for the best for him, with such a great personality as his, he deserves it.
I remember watching DK everyday from school when he uploads. I wasn't the first viewer but I was in the 100,000 viewer mark. DK's uprise in 2018-2021 was if not one of the best, it was the best uprise ever. Seeing him, Daequan, Myth, TFue, Ninja, and Hamlinz play was such euphoria. The series 'Rescue Private Ryan' was my favorite one along with the weekly highlights.

I remember and loved dakotaz back in 2018 when fortnite was still relatively new. I stayed with him all the way past his 1 million sub milestone and even got his merch for that milestone but then i lost interest at fortnite at the time but when i did come back to fortnite i never went back to dakotaz but i never forgot about how much i loved him but seeing this makes past me tremble.
It's crazy that I used to watch DK every day and when I fell off Fortnite and stopped watching I figured he would eventually move on to different, better games and never realized his stream career was dying and by the time I remember and came back to check him out again he was gone... What a legend I hope he can come back one day better than ever.

As someone who only knew about DK from Among Us, I really disagree with the notion that he didn't care for the game and only played Among Us because it was the "popular game". You could tell in the morning lobbies that he really enjoyed the game and all of the people he played with. I think the big problem with his Among Us content is that while he was absolutely hilarious, he wasn't particularly good at the game and mostly tried to be funny rather than play seriously, so often ended up making really good Among Us content for everyone else in the lobby. DK being hilariously wrong is great for a Disguised Toast, Hafu, or 5up video, but isn't that appealing as a Dakotaz video.
I used to play with Dakotaz and Buchy back on WarZ in 2013, or ISS. I had a safe for my weapons etc on thier private server. They were ranked Top 10 globally, and it always blew me away. I'll never forget the content both him and Buchy provided me, and I want them to know I always have a heart for them. Awooooooooo!

As someone who has been watching DK for years his highs and lows were so obvious to me. When he first returned from France he was so negative…I’m not knocking him at all because I know it wasn’t intentional. But I was suffering from major depression and watched him as an escape. I had to stop watching him for a while. When you suffer from depression, instinctively you hide it. You try to appear to happy and “normal” but it had gotten to a point where he couldn’t hide it anymore. Early 2020 my recovery from major depression started and at some point his did to. I am so proud of him and where he is now. He seems happy and fulfilled and he has the right mindset. As long as he focuses on what makes him happy he’ll be okay. I’m truly happy for DK…

The one UA-camr who has stayed genuine to humanity, out of all the downfalls I remembered him the most bc he was never shrouded in controversy, so media never truly talked abt him. But I remember seeing his YT when I was younger and for someone to try and stay as humble to their viewers as he has, he deserves a Pewdiepie Legend status. Tho he may not be as popular he's never triggered a community

my house burnt down in March of 2020. He was posting not long after that about some of this stuff so i replied to a tweet and he actually spoke to me about some of the stuff going on in my life. He is an incredibly kind person and dealing with some heavy stuff on his. Great video.

Bro I remember watching this guy a couple years ago all the time and seeing his incredible gameplay and funny content. So sad to see this man fall off in the content creation game. At least he didn't completely vanish and go anonymous all over the internet. I really hope he comes back one day

i only found dk through among us so i was never around for the fortnite days, but it just breaks my heart whenever you go onto one of his videos and the comments are flooded with “you fell off” etc. i’m fairly certain he’s aware of his decline in popularity, but i don’t think he needs to be reminded of it every time he posts a video. i cant imagine it helping his mentality at all.
people need to let him just enjoy making the content he wants to make, whether it does well or not, his happiness should be what’s most important.
at the end of the day, i just wish for the best for him, with such a great personality as his, he deserves it.
I remember watching DK everyday from school when he uploads. I wasn't the first viewer but I was in the 100,000 viewer mark.
DK's uprise in 2018-2021 was if not one of the best, it was the best uprise ever. Seeing him, Daequan, Myth, TFue, Ninja, and Hamlinz play was such euphoria.
The series 'Rescue Private Ryan' was my favorite one along with the weekly highlights.

10:46-11:03 That speech right there hits really hard, it's very deprecating how these trends pratically control the algorithm on modern UA-cam and how it forces content creators to constantly change even if they're not ready or no willing to, thus having to risk their revenue if they decide to stay out of it. When I was a little younger I dreamed of becoming a content creator and showing the world what I enjoyed, in search of maybe a community that would share the same tastes, but perhaps that dream was left behind alongside the time UA-cam actually followed their slogan: Broadcast Yourself.

I remember and loved dakotaz back in 2018 when fortnite was still relatively new. I stayed with him all the way past his 1 million sub milestone and even got his merch for that milestone but then i lost interest at fortnite at the time but when i did come back to fortnite i never went back to dakotaz but i never forgot about how much i loved him but seeing this makes past me tremble.

It's crazy that I used to watch DK every day and when I fell off Fortnite and stopped watching I figured he would eventually move on to different, better games and never realized his stream career was dying and by the time I remember and came back to check him out again he was gone... What a legend I hope he can come back one day better than ever.

I loved and still do love to see his videos because of how well made and genuine they are, he’s such a good guy which makes them entertaining. Really sucks that he’s lost his popularity considering how much of a great person he is and also how great his content is. He’s much better nowadays streaming consistently, I hope when Fortnite comes back again he’ll be on the rise once again

As someone who only knew about DK from Among Us, I really disagree with the notion that he didn't care for the game and only played Among Us because it was the "popular game". You could tell in the morning lobbies that he really enjoyed the game and all of the people he played with. I think the big problem with his Among Us content is that while he was absolutely hilarious, he wasn't particularly good at the game and mostly tried to be funny rather than play seriously, so often ended up making really good Among Us content for everyone else in the lobby. DK being hilariously wrong is great for a Disguised Toast, Hafu, or 5up video, but isn't that appealing as a Dakotaz video.

Dakotaz will always be an inspiration for me. He is one of the reasons I love Fortnite, and his character gave me motivation to continue playing.
I used to play with Dakotaz and Buchy back on WarZ in 2013, or ISS. I had a safe for my weapons etc on thier private server. They were ranked Top 10 globally, and it always blew me away. I'll never forget the content both him and Buchy provided me, and I want them to know I always have a heart for them. Awooooooooo!

As someone who has been watching DK for years his highs and lows were so obvious to me. When he first returned from France he was so negative…I’m not knocking him at all because I know it wasn’t intentional. But I was suffering from major depression and watched him as an escape. I had to stop watching him for a while.
When you suffer from depression, instinctively you hide it. You try to appear to happy and “normal” but it had gotten to a point where he couldn’t hide it anymore.
Early 2020 my recovery from major depression started and at some point his did to. I am so proud of him and where he is now. He seems happy and fulfilled and he has the right mindset. As long as he focuses on what makes him happy he’ll be okay.
I’m truly happy for DK…

He made me smile when it mattered when i was in my deep depression. I live a good life now and dont fight with depression as often as i used to.
