Many who listen to Lysa have their own stories of pain from another’s betrayal. We have grown accustomed to seeing Lysa solo for several years. Now that she has chosen to marry again, her solo persona has an important opportunity to share the stage and the microphone. What an incredible opportunity for others to see what a healthy relationship can be when two people share their new story together. Chaz’s story offers hope to so many, male or female, of what a healed addict functioning as a good Godly man can look like. So many hearts can find hope for those still struggling with addiction by hearing more from men like Chaz.
@@melissa-wz6ujagreed! I can’t stand when anyone talks over people esp when it’s the host of a show or podcast ! You invited them there now let them talk!
Cried through this conversation. I’m in the waiting season but I know it will end in divorce. I pray for everyone going through the same. It’s so hard.
I hear you and even though I don’t know you, I care. It is so hard. I wish it wasn’t, but when I see the (after) after math there is this glimmer that God is indeed leading through these horrible dark times to something so much better. We just can’t understand how. Someone I love is going through what you are going through, the waiting period. It is like torture. Somehow, sometime, the God who made you and loves you will reveal the beauty that he intends to give you. Hang in there. Like what this couple said, do the next right thing according to the Bible. Go to worship services, think of others, rest when it’s time to rest if possible, work when it’s time to work. God sees all and cares. The truth is, God does not make mistakes, get too busy, or change. He will see you through to the end and make things new.❤️
Goodness I love to see Lysa genuinely smiling and laughing after all she has been through! Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning. =)
I love you, Lysa. The courage you are carrying and sharing is great. Thank you for the inspiration. I connect with the royalty with which you speak in the midst of the suffering. God works all things for good! Amen.
She truly is the real deal. I remember meeting her in the staff break room at my old church and she was like "Hi...I'm Lysa" My Brain: I KNOW!!!!! Of the many speakers and authors I've hosted she was truly one of the most down to earth ones.
Ali, I loved this podcast!! I think it was so good, well-balanced hearing from Chaz, who all of us years-deed lovers of Lysa, were curious about. He won me over with his undeniable, underlying JOY, and the genuine tenderness in his responses and their shared bond. This inverview not only gave background for Chaz's story, but gave me pure joy seeing that God has done great things in their lives. My story in the last 10+ yrs of my 30 yr marriage are unfortunately similar to Lysa's, so this has given me more hope that God will make beauty from ashes, despite my current desert phase. Thank you all for sharing. 🙌 Oh, I am doing the P31 bible study for I Want to Trust You, But I Don't. ❤ So good!
This was very encouraging. My divorce was final in 22, after 46 years of marriage & 8 children. Discovered my husbands porn addiction in 20, that had started when he was a teen. I still didn’t want a divorce but he had walked away from me as his wife years earlier & walking away from the marriage was easy for him. I would love to have a real marriage & be loved & cherished, but I’m afraid to trust. I’ve put it in God’s hands & asked that He not bring anyone around till I’m healed & in His time. At 67, if I don’t marry, that’s ok too. Thanks for this message!
This was great. I appreciate Lysa’s wisdom by her trials. I’m a lot like her and continue to learn healthy habits within relationship as I navigate a similar scenario. I thought that Chaz shared a good amount. I’m so happy for them.
First time hearing about this podcast & it came up on UA-cam while watching Lysa talk about forgiveness. My divorce was final in September 2023 & I begged God to mend the marriage. My ex said he didn’t love me anymore! So I’m trying hard to forgive. But bitterness creeps in. Loved the podcast & tried looking for the song… couldn’t find it. It’s beautiful!❤️🎶
First time listener Ali. I clicked on because it was Lysa with a hyphen after her name. Thank you for your adorable set up and welcoming, easy and thoughtful questions. FYI I subscribed first thing. Much Blessings to you.
Love the podcast❤❤so happy for Lysa and Chazz congratulations Lysa is one of my favorite authors, I am learning so much from her journey as I'm going through something similar. Your books and P31 ministries have and is such a blessing to my life❤❤🙏🙏
I love this so much !You have no idea how much hope this gives me. God bless you and your husband! You are such a beautiful couple!Listening to you all these years with all the stuff you been through,I actually asked God why doesn't this lady have a good husband? You deserve live and happiness!I'm so happy for you!!!
Great interview! Was interesting to hear the dating app connection as that’s how my husband and I met in 2019, right before Covid hit. We were also long distance so he surprised me by driving 9 hrs from Richmond VA to Jacksonville, FL for our first date! The rest is all God… we’re now coming up to our 4 year wedding anniversary and we live in Jacksonville! Hope Lisa continues to enjoy NE Florida as much as my husband does and many blessings on their marriage!
Love love love this podcast!!!!! So awesome getting to know them better and you always do an amazing job asking the questions and getting people to open up! Made my heart so happy!
Lysa and I have such similar stories; but I still struggle with forgiveness and trusting people. I’m married now to by best friend from high school. He just celebrated 45 years of sobriety. Keep going to meetings ….. my husband goes to an online meeting every morning.
First time listener. Great interview! Lysa's books and devotions have ministered to me throughout the years. So happy for her new marriage to Chaz. I met my husband through a dating app at age 50. He was worth the wait! God is so Good!
Really enjoyed listening to this. But I found myself very surprised that these two lovely people met on a dating app. I've always thought it's people like me that need to use the apps. I'm an outgoing guy but due to the solitary nature of my work and attending a small church, I get to meet very few people in my everyday life. Lisa, however, likely has hundreds, if not thousands of connections all over the place. One would have thought that some friend somewhere would have said "hey I know somebody who knows this guy and he's really great," etc... But I suppose that all of us have our own version of the bubble we live in regardless of who we are or our occupation. And though they certainly have their flaws, dating apps put you in front of people you'd never meet any other way and so therein lies the benefit for us bubble dwellers. Thank you for posting this great interview.
Dr Henry Cloud stated in a book I read that we will have to embrace dating apps to meet people. I met my husband on Christian Mingle. We have been happily married 12 years.
Wow so great. I love Lisa's books so much. This very morning I was reading Its not supposed to be This way and I read one page so many times due to the content teachimg me something I needed to hear due to something that has been weighing heavily on me and thought how I wish I could tell her how much her books bless me and clarify things for me and allow me to accept who I am she is just so honest with who she is. The Lord put this Vlog before me so I could say thank you. My divorce caused me to turn to alcohol instead of God but six years later God miraculously healed me. So thank you for this interview and so happy for God bringing these two together. And praise You Jesus for bringing me here.
Amen, its not easy to walk away because you want to do whats right and honor God but sometimes others leave you with no choice. You cant control other people and unfortunately, some people are users.
Ahhhh - Loved this so much! I’m home in Michigan, don’t know how this podcast came into my feed - but when I started listening & heard you were in Jax, I thought - I bet that Lysa goes to Eleven22, she HAS to be plugged in w/Joby!… Then hearing you talk about Mexican & then Chaz surfing - I had a flash back of when I lived in Jax Beach (Ywam/Bible school for nine months in 15’). Standing at a taco truck, I got to share the gospel with a drunk surfer, because the first place I ever caught a wave was in Jeffery’s Bay South Africa, working with Christian Surfers International… So amazing!… Ahhhhh this episode held so many facets of my heart, I’m so thankful to have had it come into my life! (I still listen to Joby and love the richness of the Eleven22 family!!!) Side note have you been to the Afghan restaurant on the north side of Jax? By Craig Airport/Atlantic Boulevard Estates.
Dominique, don't give a second thought to some of the mean comments left by some. You do you. Every American gets to vote for whoever they want. I get a vote, you get a vote, they get a vote. Don't let someone else break your positive spirit.
I find this whole conversation a bit disconcerting on many levels. The idea that accountability is seen as a way for a partner to keep a spouse under their thumb is not what accountability is for. Also if the goal is to build trust that is not trust. She has just found another method of controlling her new husband. While some accountability is necassary for everyone this is not its purpose I can use his buddies to wrap him around her little finger. This is so wrong! Besides one of her own rules for judging trustworthiness is if theres a disconnect between what someone says and their actions go with the actions as the real person. She claims to not promote divorce but now she is divorced and remarried to a divorced guy. Sorry guys Proverbs 31 is no longer a trustworthy source of godly counsel. Physician go heal thyself!
Agreed! Also -- her books only focus on problems and never on being an overcomer in Christ. I am convinced she never makes a good decision so she always has a book to write. Think about it, if she made good choices, she would put herself out of business immediately. Furthermore, her "advice" is grounded in emotional decisions vs. Biblical. Why women celebrate her choices and hold her in high esteem is very concerning.
What do you do when your GODly influences are high up leaders in the church, I mean high up and the beat you down to core? I survived it because of JESUS it's been 30-plus years. GOD showed me the way out.
Lysa, I have a thought not bossy but...perhaps another book you can write is how men can respond better to their wives or approaches we women can do when suspicion arises. We can blow things out of portion. Do men have as many triggers as women??
Wouldn’t that be a red flag? 🚩 that a guy is flying for a cup of coffee? I mean I had a really impressive guy and he ended up being a narcissist. How to discern.
This woman has a bruised ego. She loves to be worshiped. She was looking for someone to worship her, so she was floored because he took an hour flight to have coffee. What about his love for God and His word . She sounds so desperate. It's always about who is loving her. She claims her marriage was bad for 30 years? What about her ex-husband supported Proverbs 31 ministry, i think he was part founder? They have lots of kids, so I'm sure he supported this family financially? Two "self-proclaimed victims." Their suffering equals their self glorification and gain. 🤮 Chaz will be her next book if HE fails her. They both need prenuptials. Two grifters.
I find it so hard to believe that so many people do not see a problem with the fact that a ministry that is supposed to promote the virtuos woman of proverbs 31 is now being run by a woman who.is divorced and remarried to a divorced man. What am I missing here. Or the fact that the whole culture around her supported it. Seems to me this ministry has lost its way.
@@Wildernessvoice58 Agreed! I saw HUGE holes when she let her last husband back in VERY quickly and was blasted out of the water when I pointed this in an online group since she had a book written in less than a year after his exposed affair. YOU DO NOT HEAL THAT QUICKLY and then marry him again. So many issues with that I find absolutely ALARMING!
Another irony is found in her accusations about her husband's infidelity and yet most of her theology and therapy podcasts are done with 2 guys that are not her husband being present. This violates most ministries ethical protocols!
A trigger, “when past pain feels very present.” Such a good definition!!!
