As a MZ1 main user I am wondering if you have plans to release an updated version of the MZ1 with smaller weight. A 15-20g decrease will makes this shape reclaim the top spot for the most recommended mice if we go by your principles. Finalmouse is leaving peoples in the dust with their progress of weight reduction, already moving beyond magnesium allow and look for carbon fiber mods. It is like a whole decade of potential products based on the magnesium has been skipped.

Hi. A comment regarding hump position. I have an MZ1 and it's great. It feels super stable with a fingertip grip. Like you I grip it with my fingers further forward on the mouse (maybe even slightly more forward: I have large palms and relatively short fingers). However I do prefer mice with a hump towards the middle. The reason for this is that I have a very light and relaxed grip with my fingers in a neutral position, and this fits with holding the mouse at an angle and not straight in the hand. I like to fit the mouse to my hand, not my hand to the mouse. Having a hump towards the back makes the mouse tend to rotate straighter against this position, trying to make the hump fit in the hollow of my palm, and fighting a little against my natural grip. Tho maybe this plus the comfort grooves is what gives the MZ1 its stability. Also interestingly despite this, it's the least fatiguing mouse I've used -- my hunch is that the small size and low button height keeps my hand tension low. Also, just btw, I like symmetrical mice more but I figured that the MZ1 was close enough to try out. I'm naturally right-handed but ambidextrous with mice, and I actually prefer gaming (FPS) with the MZ1 left-handed :D Mostly because my thumb feels better that way against the flatter side, rather than the other fingers. I've since padded out the other side a little with some tape to make it more symmetrical. Also, just for info, I main an M8, but the the MZ1, while feeling quite different, is a very close second. I love small and maneuverable mice.
Def wanna hear your thoughts on all the new lightweight Chinese mice being released recently like the scyrox v8 and mad r major. How do they compare to other mice like the sora v2. Im also really interested in their latency numbers.
First off, thank you for the video. Second, I don’t want to be that guy, but I feel like I should mention this every time I see it, and for everyone who might read this. Final Mouse will NOT achieve their claim of continuous availability anytime soon. While the reviewers may not intend any harm on their part by mentioning this goal, it’s still hype and dishonesty with FM’s marketing, and I’m going to call it out. If I’m wrong later, I’m wrong. As it stands though, they have not even delivered the keyboard they made such a big deal out of to their customers, and they are struggling to deliver each batch (AKA “DROP”) of the ULX on time. As far as I can tell, they’re still doing the same old things and having extreme issues with their delivery windows, but glossing it up with better marketing and reviewer coverage. That all being said, I don’t hate FM and I plan to purchase the ULX from a friend who was able to buy them. I just believe there needs to be more transparency and less reliance on the whole “continuous availability” thing. This won’t happen for at least a year, if not more. In the meantime it will take you months to obtain one direct from FM at retail, AFTER you beat the bots, endure the shipping delays, and possibly QC issues. If you still want one, that’s alright; I just want you to know what you are signing up for. Thank you for reading. If I’m wrong later, let me know.
Hey not sure if you read these comments still, but I'm deciding what ULX Competition to get and my hands are kinda weird... They have normal length with 18cm but I have pretty wide hands with like ~11cm or maybe like 10.8 or sth... I'm afraid the comfort groove on the right will make my hand cramp if I don't get the big one, but it'd be way too long What's your opinion?
I got ability on the front MC1 side button, and I keep pushing the button without intending to. Hope for a version where it's a bit more difficult to do it by accident.
Great review. Too bad about the scroll wheel. I've owned 3 different versions of the ultralight mice and hey all had bq issues. Is this one better than previous ones?
I still prefer mz1 shape overall (even though cable died) but let’s be honest. The built quality on ultralight is much better. Mz1 always felt cranky made sound if holding it tight. Not a huge problem. But it exists.
The ulx tiger is a lot more similar to the gpx in terms of shape and size than the ulx lion according to eloshapes. In fact, it seems to be smaller than the gpx so why do you think medium is more similar to the gpx?
I was basing it on the Ultralight Phantom size, which is more like an FK1+, which feel bigger than the GPX, so figured medium is closer to GPX out of the two, as generally I recommend GPX as a medium and the Ultralight Phantom size as large and even extra large FTIP grip. I guess we'll see when the large is actually out, I was told it's a bit smaller but by how much, not sure, so could be right that it's more like a GPX. We'll see!
Have you tried the Engame Op1we yet? I'm curious what you think about it. I have it now and have not to date, seen such solid build quality in a mouse and I''ve tried many of the ones on your list. Keep up the great videos!

I really wanted to wait for this mouse it looks great and sounds amazing but i decided to go with the Lamzu OG Atlantis V2 cause as you said size and shape is king and the width on it looks a lot better then the Final mouse and the GPX which is my daily driver right now

Is it good/worth looking at? Seems like more of the same old same old.

Hmm I had issues with de-bouncing on the scroll wheel for the starlight. Later on they pushed a firmware update with a delay on the decoder.@@RocketJumpNinja
Yeah so an issue before was that it'd scroll up if you scroll down too fast or something, now the issue is that the tension/steps are such that they are more prone to getting stuck between them, and therefore physically they'd move while playing and cause a command to be executed, thus "limbo jumps".
That's unfortunate, so far after my firmware update the starlight has no serious issues. Worst case the scroll wheel begins to have issues and at that point I'd solder out and put a new decoder@@RocketJumpNinjaThanks for the updates, seems like a pass on final mouse.
I wouldn't say pass, it wasn't a big problem on the second copy ... like all mice have this issue to some degree, just the blue copy of this mouse was really bad. The gold copy seemed normal. My sample size is small, so I'm not sure if it's a widespread problem or not, but after speaking with others, seems it might have been just a dud. But yeah can't confirm exactly, just saying it seems likely it's not a big problem. That said, I still think the wheel isn't great, but it's not deal-breaker stuff.
question though, will these types of mice have complication on places that change weather all the time (like bright and sunny one day and rain/thunderstorms the next) or humid areas?

There's a lot to love about this mouse, especially the fact that they have an L size model (super important for my large hands). And i would have ordered it in on a release IF it had sidewalls for the main buttons. The open/overhang main button design does not work with my fingertip grip at all, and renders it unusable for me :( This makes me wonder - are there any benefits to having this overhang/open (non-sidewalled) button style for any gripstyles? Why aren't sidewalls standard?
It lowers the weight, it really only comes into play if you hit your keyboard since it doesn’t effect grip, in which case most competitive gamers are using 60% keyboards anyway.

Something else to point out about low weight: it's less strain. I've had major surgery in right shoulder. The shoulder will never be what it was, but I've recovered and enjoy a mostly standard quality of life with only very minor issues (for example: I can still handwrite but the quality is lower than it was). I can still game with a mouse and keyboard, but I require a light weight and a low resistance in order for it to not cause strain, especially over longer gaming sessions. I currently use a G Pro Superlight with a Logitech hard pad, and I can still get a good day of gaming in with only short breaks when I have the time. I'm very curious what Zy has to say about hard pads, as I'm considering upgrading to a glass pad soon, both for less resistance and also for longevity (the hard pad doesn't seem to last too long). I am worried about there being a point of negative returns, where there is so little resistance it causes more strain since I have to counter my own acceleration more as opposed to letting friction slow and/or stop the mouse. When I used to play on cloth with a heavier mouse, it was unbearable after an hour of use post-surgery. Things needed to change ASAP. I'm VERY interested in this new finalmouse.
Well, I own a skypad 3.0 xl and the major problem is that you speed run mouse feets/skates in months, so you have to be ready to buy a bunch of mouse feet or dots

Any mouse with weight around 60g is already good enough and if you play games casually you won't even notice the difference between switches and sensors.

Thanks! And I just went based on small / medium / large for now, I'll compare them when I have them.
Incredible!! Can’t wait to see much lighter ones out there from them! I got an ULX can’t wait for it to arrive!
How long did it take to deliver
@@braagsICT got last Saturday. next batches shouldn’t take that long i suppose
but how do you buy this mouse? there's no option to pre order...
Day 1 MZ1 and MZ1 wireless buyer, knew it was my mouse the minute you announced them. I'll try the UltralightX, but I know where I'll probably end up - staying with the MZ1 ;)
Much love Zy
As a MZ1 main user I am wondering if you have plans to release an updated version of the MZ1 with smaller weight.
A 15-20g decrease will makes this shape reclaim the top spot for the most recommended mice if we go by your principles.
Finalmouse is leaving peoples in the dust with their progress of weight reduction, already moving beyond magnesium allow and look for carbon fiber mods.
It is like a whole decade of potential products based on the magnesium has been skipped.
thanks for adressing the issue with scrollwheels getting stuck mid step, this has been a major issue for me with the past few mice to the point where I just went with a EC2-CW which has the best scrollwheel for me, no issues.
We need an update mz1 pro, same shape with upgraded tech and maybe slightly lighter!
Personally a magnesium mz1 would be certified endgame for me
Sounds good to me, let Xtrfy know there's extra demand out here and not just me asking for it! No RGB, maybe more holes, thinner walls; go extra extra light.
@@RocketJumpNinja I personally love the RBG in the corrent MZ1. I do think a pro version would be amazing. I would buy it as long as it kept the same feel as the MZ1!
@@RocketJumpNinjamaybe skip the hull entirely and go for a fingertip only design like Optimum's mouse that just dropped. 28grams
Also for MZ1 - side buttons are mushy, change them for Kailh 8.0 and it's good. Then make M1 and M2 lighter clicks Omrons or TTC Golds....endgame mouse!! @@RocketJumpNinja
Can you release the music in the background that always kicks in like in 4:50. I think it was made by you if I remember from back in the day but its so damn good I need to hear it
Yeah been using that song for years, used to use it in the headset reviews. I haven't released any of that because the bass is all out of whack, could blow up some people's speakers. I gotta learn to mix and master better. Also the other problem is if I release instrumentals, others could take it and cause me headaches with copyright (way of the world these days). So... I could probably put it in a highlights video in the background, so it'll have Quake sounds all through it. Would you be cool with that?
@@RocketJumpNinja yeah I remember a good old video of yours when you can hear it loud enough. I have the Sennheisers HD800S and I really like the sound signature in this headphones compared to others.
I totally understand the copyright issue, I would do the same if I were you so no problem of me.
Watching your vids since 2016, really nice work mate!
Jesus is back 💛
Thx for the review! Will u also make one for the Wlmouse beast x?
I was wondering that too even a mini review would be nice too as some of the internals is different
I love small and maneuverable mice.
coolest hand cam ever! Great review
Def wanna hear your thoughts on all the new lightweight Chinese mice being released recently like the scyrox v8 and mad r major. How do they compare to other mice like the sora v2. Im also really interested in their latency numbers.
so heavy keyboards and light mouse are the thing now?
I literally test drove a Cobra Pro to get an idea of the ULX size I want. Thanks for the size guide RJN!
I'm afraid the comfort groove on the right will make my hand cramp if I don't get the big one, but it'd be way too long
What's your opinion?
Grip width is the more important measurement... so yeah you may wanna go for a wider one to suit the wider hand size.
@@RocketJumpNinja you are an absolute legend mate
When is Xtrfy gonna do a new release? Like I wanna see those nice shapes with no holes
Hello, could you review some of the $40 chinese gaming mice with 3395 sensor? I'm really curious on how they compare to branded ones.
Isn't this roughly shaped like a Deathadder? Could be a replacement for it.
Will you do SPRIME PM1 review?
Xtrfy x Final Mouse Carbon MZ2+ when?
Can you review the budget wireless mouse ATTACK SHARK X3?
I got ability on the front MC1 side button, and I keep pushing the button without intending to. Hope for a version where it's a bit more difficult to do it by accident.
I would really like to know your opinion about the Gwolves HSK PRO 4K.
2x ULX weighing 10g less than a G302 really shows how far the mouse industry has come.
M3k review when it comes out?
Great review. Too bad about the scroll wheel. I've owned 3 different versions of the ultralight mice and hey all had bq issues. Is this one better than previous ones?
Mice Daddy of UA-cam, The Dr-Mr.RJN!
Nice video review, hopefully I will get my hands on one soon
everyone knows that we're only waiting for an updated version of your MZ1 wireless
I still prefer mz1 shape overall (even though cable died) but let’s be honest. The built quality on ultralight is much better. Mz1 always felt cranky made sound if holding it tight. Not a huge problem. But it exists.
What'd be the best possible mousepad for this? Was going to get artisian hiyate otsu red version
We'll see!
Hey RJninja, what's your cm/360 for quake?
Ive been using hyper x pulsfire haste for a few year after your review. Is it worth replacing for 1 around 50
Do these have something similar to razor or Logitech like gshift or hypershift where you can map keybinds?
Can you review the Sharkoon light200 ?
very nice i will get one when more are available thank u brother
Whats your take on using ultralight mice
Lower sense lighter mice might be good but I use a g703 so don’t take my advice
How is the scroll wheel? I really hated the scroll wheel on the air58 and want to know if it has gotten better
Mine just came in I can’t wait to use it
Have you tried the Engame Op1we yet? I'm curious what you think about it. I have it now and have not to date, seen such solid build quality in a mouse and I''ve tried many of the ones on your list. Keep up the great videos!
Great review! Can I buy your Phantom?
Finalmouse said everyone will get one but how when they dont support PayPal payment?
my hands are 17.8 L and 10.2 W im a chode boy. any recommendations for my hand size? i enjoy both dav3 and v2p but they are not quite it. waiting on my final mouse to arrive...hopefully...kinda torn between the atlantis mini, outset AX or the HTX. thanks for your content!
what is your thoughts on vertical mouse ??
Is there any better choice for left handed players than viper ultimate with buttons or both sides or no buttons at all? Every new wireless mice now has side buttons only for right handed players.
only the pulsar x2 ambi afaik
so im 14 but my hands are 20cm should i get the bigger one cuz im still growing or go for the med i have a small starlight its a little to small
I really wanted to wait for this mouse it looks great and sounds amazing but i decided to go with the Lamzu OG Atlantis V2 cause as you said size and shape is king and the width on it looks a lot better then the Final mouse and the GPX which is my daily driver right now
is there a mouse that is light and has the free scroll function from logitech, i got hooked on it from the first mx master and don't want to give it up?
Unfortunately part of what makes that wheel so spin is its weight, so you'd have a super light mouse with a heavy wheel creating balance issues.
I got a medium and it comes in tomorrow. Finally!!!
It is the new RJN's top mice! Just WOW
Just got mine today and it’s sick
im still hoping for Microsoft to make a wireless Pro Intellimouse and make it around 70 grams or so. i think that would be a hit even today
Why are you not reviewing Aerox 5?
It's hard enough to keep up with all the mice as it is while I'm busy working on several other projects, SteelSeries don't talk to me anymore and going by their past, I doubt they've come up with anything all that interesting, so ... yeah just haven't really had time or interest. Is it good/worth looking at? Seems like more of the same old same old.
@RocketJumpNinja you have the best reviews of the mouse on UA-cam. I've bought a couple of mouses by your guide and they fit perfectly. Plus, I improved my aim. Aerox 5 is a very interesting mouse for me, for my palm grip. I tried it in Germany for a short time but was waiting for your insight. All the companies should give you their product to review. Thanks for the answer. I wish you success in your projects.
Hey! I have a razer viper v2 pro and Im wondering if ULX would be a fit to me.. And if it is, what size should I use? Any recommandations? Btw, razer viper v2 pro fits me perfectly, but im looking for a leap in tech
Mine comes in Saturday!
I have 17.75 x 9.0 cm hands and I use a relaxed claw palm grip. Currently my main mouse is the HTX 4K Wireless but I’m looking for another lightweight mouse to try since this is getting old any suggestions?
So they still haven't fixed the issues with the scroll wheel.
Nah this is a new issue, different wheel.
That said, I still think the wheel isn't great, but it's not deal-breaker stuff.
question though, will these types of mice have complication on places that change weather all the time (like bright and sunny one day and rain/thunderstorms the next) or humid areas?
no. why would that cause any issues? have you had other mice that had issues cuz of the weather and humidity?
@@asd123465jkl yep. my G403 has gotten "pimples" i call them. the rubber sides have gotten bumps and i ignored them at first, but with more use they pop and some liquid comes out. it's been about a year since they came to be, and it's starting to double click from time to time. looking for another long-term mice
Love the fact that this is recored in 21:9, makes it look so great on my ultrawide.
There's a lot to love about this mouse, especially the fact that they have an L size model (super important for my large hands). And i would have ordered it in on a release IF it had sidewalls for the main buttons. The open/overhang main button design does not work with my fingertip grip at all, and renders it unusable for me :(
This makes me wonder - are there any benefits to having this overhang/open (non-sidewalled) button style for any gripstyles? Why aren't sidewalls standard?
It lowers the weight, it really only comes into play if you hit your keyboard since it doesn’t effect grip, in which case most competitive gamers are using 60% keyboards anyway.
Does anyone know when they will drop them again approx?
We need solid sides on the mz1. I love the mouse and feel like i aim best with it. However my pinky and thumb are lined up with the senser and my ring finger near the top. So bothe my pink wnd ring fall on the holes witch i dont like. I tried grips but most are to thick and changes the way the mouse feels. Only way i was able to fix this without changeing width was buy useing the ultra thin grips that came with the g pro superlight
Hey there, great video. I just bought the Sora because of your review on it. I absolutely love the Zowie S2 shape, used it forever. Is there any wireless and lightweight mice on the market the are pretty identical to the S2 shape? Thank you.
I'll have a video for the Fantech Helios II soon, haven't compared it with the S2 yet but will do in the video, maybe wait for that...
@@RocketJumpNinja awesome, thank you!
Any chance of Mz1 ultralight?
My hands are 18.5x9, which version do you think I should go with? It’s on the edge of small and medium. I have a relaxed fingertip grip with two fingers on m1/m2. Fingers are at the wheel. Any input would be appreciated. Thx!
Can't wait for your review of small 29g one. Right now I'm using v2 pro with modded baseplate and it's 48g, but switching to 29g damn that should feel like feather :)

love your vids Zy, could you possibly make a vid on the WLmouse Beast X medium or mini?
That's what I can say, but yeah, wait till he drop the hard pad video
I hear ya. Check out keyboards with rapid trigger to help (apex mini, Wooting)
hold on i thought it was meant to be 29g?
The small is meant to be about that ... we'll see once it's out!

Damn, that thing looks good. I really love the accents on the mouse Buttons. The blue one would match my Shroud keyboard in Style, but would love to see them in deep orange. :)
always wanted to get a final mouse but its so damn expensive, same goes for the mz1
get money
@@nykz2358 tbh, at some point you just draw the line, and usually it's not even about lack of money - more about diminishing returns. If you pay two times more for features you won't even fully utilize in the end, then there is no point to do so. Any mouse with weight around 60g is already good enough and if you play games casually you won't even notice the difference between switches and sensors.
“$20 is $20”
Yeah $190 for non-solid sides, no side grips included and a fucked up wheel sounds crazy amarite
No left hand option?
Nop 😂
This new FM is a great, can't deny that, but the MZ1 is so fucking perfect that I cannot see myself using anything else.
Can I actually buy this one?
Sadly many units rn have bad flexing on the side and palm part , the specs and shape are insane , but something like that is not okay , also the shipping delay is a joke , from aug 1 to december ! They updated the shipping for batch 1 again to 2-3 weeks , and 2nd batch will launch in dec 10th
They delayed the shipping for QC control , but even now many people who got it in the US complain about the flexing issue
I srsly hope finalmouse can improve that stuff otherwise i think they get a huge backlash
I think I would love the smaller one as I'm on a Viper Mini now but for $190 this is not the mouse for me.
ive tried alot of different mice over the years from the g900, g502x plus , g pro, lamzu atlantis, glorious , razer death adder v3 pro , id say my fav mouse is the Razer basilisk v3 pro i just love the shape of that mouse the most comfortable mouse for my hand and i love having scroll wheel left and right click i think this should be a must for any mouse
The mouse is too heavy. I'll give mine out in a heartbeat
Great vid, still sticking to the Zy's Rail though :)..
Could you make a mz2 wireless the shape is good the only thing i would cange is the hump so its more like the logitech 203 or xm1r everything ellse is good it could be a tad wider like the mm710 and it would be a perfect mouse for me with shaquille oneil handsize
click latency on the ULX is (iirc) 2nd fastest, only beaten by the Zaunkoenig M2K (which is wired)
not being able to set my own dpi is an absolute deal breaker ima stick the the viper v2pro unless they change it
